Reasons for recording a video on this topic:
    1. To let applicants know in advance what they will have to face and ... encourage them to prepare for these difficulties in advance even before admission!
    2. Show that the seeking knowledge is not an easy thing, and therefore requires respect and suuport from Muslim community.
Reasons why a student drops out of the university:
    1. Unrealistic expectations of himself. He expects from himself that every day he will study for 8-10 hours, he will achieve high success in seeking knowledge. But faced with reality, he realizes that he cannot fulfill his expectations and falls into apathy. He is also afraid not to live up to the expectations of his brothers, saying "I will graduate from the university, they will come to me with Sharia questions, but I wasn't good at it, I have no knowledge. What will I tell them?"
    2. Wife and children. The need to support them financially and emotionally brings them back to their country. Plus, inability to bring them to Medina (at least until the 3rd semester of the Faculty of the University) leads to the point that the student is forced to leave his studies.
    3. Family and relatives stay at home with their support. It is especially difficult for the "domestic" type of students.
    4. A foreign country, far from the usual culture and language.
    5. Lack of selfsufficiency, while here each student must be able to take care of their needs.
    6. Get used to a high standard of living, relative to living in a dormitory at the university.
    7. Hot climate. Someone is uncomfortable, and some have health problems (blood pressure)
    8. Parents who are against their son's studies in another country. Whether they miss their kids and don't want to let go of them or afraid to send them to Saudi Arabia because of stereotypes.
    9. Lack of progress in the affairs of worldly life due to studying at the university. He is afraid that after spending years studying in Medina, he will not be able to arrange his worldly life. He will not be able to gain work experience, start a family, and so on. And may Allah forgive and guide the person who cares so much for this worldly life, while the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
“Whoever is focused only on this world, Allah will confound his affairs and make him fear poverty constantly, and he will not get anything of this world except that which has been decreed for him. Whoever is focused on the Hereafter, Allah will settle his affairs for him and make him feel content with his lot, and his provision and worldly gains will undoubtedly come to him.”
Narrated by Ahmad 5/183, Ibn Majah 4105
As a result, under the weight of all these circumstances, the student gets instigations from the shaitan, like "may I should leave my studies and go home." If it is not possible to persuade like this, then it inspires such thoughts as "Do not leave your studies, but take an academic leave for a year. You will return with renewed vigor." If it doesn’t work out anyway, he instructs “take academic leave for one semester”, etc. while the student, unfortunately, does not leave his studies, while the Islamic ummah so needs competent knowledagble imams who will teach Islam to them on the basis of the Quran, the Sunnah with the understanding of the companions and tabiins.

I studied there and finished, Al Hamdu Lillaah, what I saw was if you were not a serious student of knowledge before you went there, studying with the scholars of your own country, then you didnt suddenly became a student of knowledge there, except for the few exceptions, hence the high drop out rate. Once you are there you have to really appreciate the fact that Allaah has blessed you with this huge blessing, and you need to put your 100% effort into the studies as thanks to Allaah, and have patience with all the hardships mentioned by the brother in this video.

Before classes even start the seeker knowledge should prepare himself with what is coming next. The seeker of knowledge must schedule his days and must be equipped with etiquette's of seeking knowledge.
Indeed, remaining steadfast is a very important tip and as a student everyone needs the help of Allah (Subhanahu Wata'ala) in every aspect of their life. So one should make a lots of dua'a as well!

JazakAllahu khayr brother. This is definitely the perfect video for me. You touched up on so many different points that are relevant to me. Especially the one where people think of saudi scholars as 'extreme'. My dad took council from some known people over here and they advised him against me applying there and said the same thing. I'm still adamant on going there because I know the scholars well and I've been following them for a long time online. InshaAllah I want to work on myself really hard to become ready once I get there. I just wanted to ask you, briefly how would you describe your daily routine there (I know it differs depending on your faculty) but like just an insight. I ask Allah to make it easy.

If you pass the preparatory year and meet all the requirements for this faculty, you will be accepted. There is a video about this course on this channel where it's explained in great detail. May Allah bless you.

If you're giving 100% now, then likely yes. If you're not doing it now, don't expect anything extraordinary to happen to just because you're in Madinah.

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever seeks knowledge in order to argue with the foolish or to show off before the scholars or to attract people’s attention, will be in Hell.” Narrated by Ibn Maajah (253).
It was narrated from Jaabir ibn ‘Abdillah that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Do not seek knowledge in order to show off in front of the scholars or to argue with the foolish, or to choose the best seat in a gathering because of it, for whoever does that, the Fire, the Fire (awaits him).” Narrated by Ibn Maajah (254).
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever seeks knowledge in order to show off before the scholars or to argue with the foolish or to attract people’s attention, Allah will admit him to Hell.” Narrated by Ibn Maajah (260).
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: “Whoever seeks knowledge that should be sought for the sake of Allah, but he only seeks it for the sake of some worldly gain, will not smell the fragrance of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection.”Narrated by Abu Dawood (3664).
