As someone who has lived in Douglasville all my life, I can’t highly recommend living here. It’s not a bad town by any means, but the traffic will give you a headache and we really don’t have anything that’s special besides the historic district. Our schools are actually decent, as they said, but it’s an affordable town for a reason 👀 also, don’t go to Arbor Place Mall. Please trust me on that. It used to be nice 7+ years ago, but it’s gotten really trashy really quick

Over all Douglasville its a great place lived, not just affordable but convenient location not that far from Atlanta compare to other cities. Over all the school are above average in education. You also have access to a large mall and many surrounding restaurants. I will said clime its located in some small area of the city, but over all its a safe place to lived. Thank you for sharing your comments.

I’m hoping for a Cumberland/Perimeter Mall type makeover to Arbor Place around 2025/2026. Restaurants across the front with a courtyard between them and the main entrance. Hopefully someone will have this vision before it loses its only final last high end anchors - Dillard and Macy’s, and they are really struggling. If those stores fall, then Arbor Place will become as bad as Greenbrier or the old. south Dekalb mall and - trust me - (without nice higher end retail options) the city and county will become unlivable.

Crime has risen since this video. In a week apart in just a month. There was two reported missing people who was recently found dead near the mall. First was a teenager and another a 20 year old. Which has never happened before since I lived here in 2008.

Unfortunately every big cities like Douglasville have some type of crime, but over all Douglasville is a great city to live. School raking is pretty good, location its great close restaurants, shopping, stores, groceries, and to close to downtown Atlanta. Also as far as home size and money, you get alot for your money compare to other near by cities. A lot of great people call Douglasville home.

There is WAY too much crime in Douglasville now. Schools are VERY overcrowded and a lot of schools have trailer classrooms. Lots of shootings lately.

Douglasville is nice! I haven't had a bad experience yet. It's chill but it has everything needed and it's clean! Lol Don't take clean, well running establishments lightly. Great review. 🙂

The best way to get the most up-to-date crime rate its by calling the police department. My best advice is to visit the city during the day and night and see how you feel about it. Over all its pretty good place to call home.

I live in Douglasville and yes, the crime rates are high in certain areas. But like the guys said, there are certain areas that are more rural and safer. I'm closer to a douglas county community known as Winston.

It's not safe to live here. Go further west, maybe Temple or Bowdon.

Douglasville is off a major interstate I-20. So the pockets of crime they are referring is only a few areas. It a great place for families, retirees and young people that want to be closer to the city but not in the city. They weren't specific to the crime data that they were using, so im not sure how accurate or updated it is.
