Hey Guys,
In this video, I have shared my first experience of hitchhiking in China from the border town of Erenhot ( Near Mongolia ) to Beijing ( Capital of China ).
It took me almost 17 hours to complete this journey of 750Km. Hitchhiking in China is a little bit different than in other countries. The people of China are really amazing & helpful.

In China's small cities, people are very simple and enthusiastic to help others. I am in Shanghai, in this rich city, young people are more indifferent.

This is what I need despite the nonsense that goes on between our two countries- both ancient civilisation with great people- I loved my travels in India- should have done vlog
while we fight, the West laughs. When I was travelling in India, I was furious that ppl would say watch out, they wont like you, you will die. Again generalisation and stereotypes. I was even more angry when at the Taj Mahal, I saw traces of the empty gems on the walls....taken by yes the Brits. The west plundered China and messed up India and messed everyone else. It is sad that despite the pandemic, the overall picture is that us Asians just dont get alone and look down on one another. I agree.with you....this is not how we should be like. We need to watch.out the West

it is so hilarious that the Chinese toll booth guard speaks Chinese into the phone saying "are you looking for a free ride"? then the phone translates for the hitchhiker, the guy says yes, then the guard turns around and told his colleagues in Chinese so they could all watch out for a possible free ride for this guy. It's heart warming to see how people who don't speak the same language proactively use technology to communicate, and eager to lend a hand whenever they can. Nice video and nice story.
They care his safety much more than other things.

as somebody who has backpacked in both china and india, i can tell u people are generally nice and eager to help you wherever possible.I still remember the chinese guy who took a taxi and help me find my hostel at 2 am in Xian. He could not speak english and i could not speak chinese. He did not accept any money, neither for the taxi. he was genuinely helping another human being . respect.

Wait...Where are the polluted air and dirty streets like what BBC, CNN, and the New York Times like to report? What I see in this video are clear blue sky and extremely clean sidewalks and parks.
Some part of China is very polluted due to people burning coal and burning down farm waste in the countryside during winter, in the summer it’s not that bad. farmers and village folks are navigating away from using them as living standard gets better so air quality gets better with it. The polluted air you see on the news are during the worst period lol.

You finally got on a car, dude I am chinese, some years ago i walked on foot from shanghai to shandong, i had a bigger hat, bigger beard, I tried to hitchhike while walking my way, for a whole day no one stopped, it’s ok, I didn’t expect it anyway, because we don’t have a hitchhike culture, some nights i put up tent, some nights i stayed in scarily cheap hostel, one night i slept in a police station in a small town.
Must be a tough journey. But I bet you gain more than sitting in front of computer.
As authentic Chinese, native Chinese don't like to help each other. Maybe people are worry about getting trouble if give hands to other. Because too many such cases for those helped others were trapping in trouble before.

The west media never let you know how helpful Chinese government employees are. They always only show the police are shoving their cameras away. There was a off duty police that gave him a ride, I think and maybe those are custom officers, I'm not sure, giving him a meal. That's hospitality.
