Do's & Don'ts of Disney World with a Newborn or Infant

  • mickeymomblog.com | If you're considering a trip to Disney World with a newborn or infant, watch this video to find out the do's and don'ts to make the best of your vacation! Trust me, we took a trip to Walt Disney World with our 4 week old baby daughter and guess what? We survived! Not only did we survive but we had an AMAZING trip!
    People thought we were crazy when we said we were going to bring our 4 week old to Disney World along with our 2 year old son. To be honest, the 2 year old was way more work than the 4 week old. My son’s first trip was at 3 months and I don’t think there was much of a difference between a 4 week old and 3 month old!

    We are going with a large family, 2 rooms my parents, sister, and her two kids (9,14), and then our room me, S.O., our 3 kids (2months, 7, 9) I really want to plan for the smoothest and most fun trip, while making the most of it, since this the kids first time going. Would you recommend getting genie +? I was thinking about doing it only for magic kingdom and Hollywood studious but I wasn’t sure if it would be too much of a pressure to get to each ride at each time etc. at the same sense I really want us to be able to ride as many rides as we can with low wait times because of the kiddos. TIA & thank you for the tips!

    This video was very helpful but I still have some questions maybe if you could help me with (: my daughter is 2 months I plan on taking my Disney trip while she is 2-4 months. Our Car seat attaches to the stroller we have it also has a bassinet like attachment. Which would be easier/ better to take her in? Also how did you still with your 3 month old in the rides?

    • @MickeyMomBlog
      @MickeyMomBlog  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it’s hot (which it probably will be) I would use the bassinet attachment while in the parks. That way she can stretch out and not be as squished in the car seat. Im not sure how your bassinet is, just make sure it will be easy to take on and off for the bu rides. I would also recommend a portable fan and Muslin blanket to drape over and keep the sun out. I used my Lille baby carrier a lot of the time when my daughter was 3-9 months in the park. So I was just wear her on the rides and kept my hands open eating, drinking and taking care of the toddler.

    Hi,
    Just wondering what you do with milk. We will be formula feeding our 7 month old when we visit in November and this is the biggest concern we have. We have a very hungry little girl. Any advice would be super helpful :) Thank you for the video

      So I usually like to go to my doctors and ask for a sample size of the powder enfamil we use. I believe it’s a 7 oz container. I keep that in my diaper bag all day and then I refill that from a large container I get delivered from the grocery store. The sample size is perfect in the diaper bag. It doesn’t take up as much room as a full container would and gives me more formula than the those individual formula dispensers. Plus there’s a scooper so I can make whatever size bottle I need. The week or so before you go I would pay attention to how much formula you go through for the week(or however many days your staying) and order that much in grocery delivery. I also order bottled water around bring in so I can quickly make a bottle when I need to. You can get hot water from the baby care centers but there’s only one per park and some of the quick services are weird about giving out hot water. Plus you have to get the hot water to cool down before giving it to the baby. Also put the formula in a ziploc bag in the container just in case the container opens ( I learned this one the hard way lol). I usually only mix up enough formula for what I know she’s going to eat since it will get bad quickly in the heat. You can bring in a small cooler bag and put a frozen water bottle with a few normal water bottles to keep a bottle cold too. I found it’s just easier to make more if we need it than try to keep it cool.
      I know that was a lot lol but it’s better to be prepared ☺️. You’ll do great! Have an awesome trip with your little one!

    Just as a word of advice to anyone watching this, it’s not recommended to keep baby in an infant car seat for extended periods of time. No mom shaming, just an fyi

    How would you have you infant dress on a really hot day?

    • @MickeyMomBlog
      @MickeyMomBlog  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In a short sleeve onesie...just be sure to keep them out of the sun. I would also make sure to have a frogg togg chilly pad towel. They’re great for covering them up and keeping them cool.

    I'm going next Saturday with my 2 month old. And I'm really nervous. I'm scared he's going to be fussy and he's not going to be able to sleep 😫

    • @MickeyMomBlog
      @MickeyMomBlog  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you find that he’s fussy and won’t sleep I always likes to find somewhere air conditioned to take them to cool off for a minute. Make sure to have a fan and cooling towels for the baby. I would put the cooling towel over the baby’s legs like blanket and hook the fan on stroller. I would find somewhere shaded or better yet air conditioned, feed the baby then lay them back in the stroller to sleep. When we were just there with my 3 month old she was still in that newborn sleep cycle where she would eat and sleep all day. The important thing is to keep them cool and out of the sun. Have a great trip!

    How did you store your milk when you pumped in the parks?

    • @MickeyMomBlog
      @MickeyMomBlog  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would bring a soft cooler with ice packs . Bring ziplock baggies with you and you can get more ice through out the day if your ice pack doesn’t stay cool as long as you need it too.

    • @MickeyMomBlog

      Like the frame? If you’re taking a baby who won’t be in a normal stroller and just in the car seat carrier the whole time I would just take the frame if you have one. How old will your baby be and will you have other kids ina stroller with you?

      I would just wear the baby in the airport and rent a stroller. I’ve used Simple Stroller a bunch of times and they’re great! You can even rent and adapter to use the car seat carrier if you decide to bring it. My husband and I were just saying how much nicer it was when they were babies and just layed there lol
