i really enjoy your videos because u kinda represent us the 'normal' girl with problem skins and average makeup techniques. sometimes after watching amazing makeup tutorials with lots of expensive products and hundreds of different brushes and thousands of makeup technique, its refreshing to see a normal person apply some makeup. and at the same time review some product that we really really want to try. so we dont waste money buying things that are way to expensive for our average face and average makeup techniques. ;)

I am a 62 year old male with skin discolorations, combo/ oily skin. You have to prep and moisturize, and let it sink in before you apply it! I apply it my dry areas with a bit of moisturizer, and wait ten minutes and lightly dust it, it will lasts all day!
Joseph Valenti that is WAY TOO MUCH effort for a foundation. Plus she DID prep BEFORE she filmed. She stated that fact. This foundation did not work for me either. It’s not for everyone 🤷♀️

Can I suggest something? when you are blending in your foundation with a brush, try using downwards strokes and patting motions. Circular motions tend to move the foundation around so it doesn't provide the best coverage where you want to be. Loved your review BTW😘😘

i love how people are commenting about how its too thick and too heavy and the coverage is too much like....it says it in the description of the product that its a "full coverage foundation"...if you know you don't need a full coverage foundation why did you buy it in the first place?

Personally, I am someone who has tried multiple foundations and came across the Kat Von D Foundation and I have come to actually love it. I feel it depends on the persons skin type and what kind of coverage they like.. if you have oily skin and are looking for a FULL coverage i highly recommend Kat Von D. You do need to use too much of it. Just one pump and you're good to go!

I got the sample of this foundation from Sephora and I really like it. I'm kinda oily but I didn't feel oily wearing it and even when I was sweating the foundation did not come off on the tissue. I'm thinking of buying the full bottle when I finished with the sample. it's way better for me compared to the nars sheer glow. i also like the coverage. i look flawless with it
hello, I just bought the Lock it foundation and I gave my fingers crossed that it works on my face. I have a combination skin type but a little more on the oily side. I also got the primer but I did not get the setting powder. did you use the foundation without a setting powder afterwards?
This foundation looks great on you! I feel you on the full coverage foundation thing but this seemed to perform well so I may pick it up for special occasions when I want a more flawless look.
Okay you are darling, a couple tips. If you have pores that are noticable a silicone primer should help a lot. :) Also when applying powder, I would try using a fluffier brush. The dense brush you use is going to apply a little to much product, on top of that move the product underneath it around and make it look cakier/ streaky. You make lovely videos though :) Keep on keepin on.
My skins like yours. I was very interested in this and was so glad you did a review. I had tried double wear and I found it rubbing off and sinking in my pores and not giving the flawless look you see youtubers have. Thanks for doing a review. Love yours vlogs and sense of humor! Have a good night.
I used Estee Lauders foundation for a while and it was nice but then it started coming off on my nose in the middle of the day. I switched to Lancome's teint idol and it is amazing! Great coverage and looks natural.
+IrmaWorma I tried that one too and it does look a lot more skin like then other medium to full coverage foundations but it still comes off my chin and nose and creases horribly after only an hour or two
I've tried so many foundations and this one actually lasted a very long time compared to all the ones I've tried. MUFE HD looks great but only last an hour tops, L'oreal infallible looks like a hot mess after an hour, Lancôme made me break out, Nars looks like a hot mess too with primer, hourglass is too fuckin matte! Tarte full coverage same thing, too faced born this way- meh....So Ya if you guys can recommend me something that can withstand oily skin let a girl know! :)
I think it's your exact color when you mixed it. Foundation does that to me too I have never figured out how to stop that. It looks really good on you though😊

I love how your skin is actually very similar to your average human female's skin. Like a lot of these (amazing) make up gurus do not seem to hardly have acne, large pores or fine lines for foundation to settle into. I understand completely what you mean by heavier foundations settling into pores so I will definitely get a sample before getting excited and buying a whole tube of this product to make sure it doesn't cake in my nose pores. I'm so happy that this foundation looked similar on you as it did me. I purchased this awhile ago because I have some gnarly hyper pigmentation and it just looked so DRY on me. Now that I'm doubling up my skin care and the colder months are coming there is nooo way I could pull this off now. It's certainly oil absorbing but I wish the little amount of oil it lets come through after a lot of wear was something that happened a bit earlier. Oh well! Onto the next!

The foundation generally looks great on you. I find that if I exfoliate before putting on my makeup, I have no problem with foundation clinging. Also, I've heard putting eyeshadow primer on the nose prior helps too.
Full coverage foundations always feel cakey to me right around my nose and lip area. I've taken to wearing bb cream lately because it's just easier and doesn't sit weird on me. I recently bought Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation and it looks cakey in my "problem areas". I don't use very much and I blended it with my real techniques buffing brush; I've yet to try it with a beauty blender though.
Same here. That foundation from Tarte looks horrible on me, no matter how I apply it. But this foundation from Kat Von d actually looks pretty good on me
+Izzy Rennick the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation is the foundation I use daily and honestly it's pretty okay. But after a bit it does start to look a bit cakey, but honestly it isn't thaat bad and I really like the way that it feels on my face. I've applied it wiith my beauty blender, foundation brush, and hands and honestly I like the way it looks a lot more with the beauty blender. I like it a lot, but if I have any kind of blemish or redness on my face it doesn't seem to realllyy cover it up so I'm probably going to be sticking with it until I find something with a bit better coverage. It is pretty nice feeling on your face throughout the day though !
I use Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation and I love it! My skin is very oily and it holds all day.. I actually layer it twice. Best I have used so far but I think next time I go to Sephora I'll ask for a sample of this Kat Von D just to try it. :)
+Kaitlyn Hathaway It does seem more suited for oily skin types. I've got pretty neutral/combination skin; not too dry and not too oily. I really only get a little oily on my nose and the only areas of my skin that are a little dry is right in the center of my chin and in my smile lines. Other than that it's fine so its a little hard to find good quality full coverage foundation that doesn't lean too far in either direction.
I love that you do first impressions with primer on, if you normally wear a primer then it would be hard to tell how foundations should perform without a primer which could alter your opinion on the foundation. I must say though, the under eye creasing is to be expected, it's not meant to be used under your eyes as a concealer. The consistency is also way too thick to be expected to not crease under your eyes. I actually love this foundation though, especially since they released 42 again, it's beautiful and sits on my nose wonderfully which is rare.

The coverage is insanely awesome with such an itty bitty tiny amount but it sank into my pores and accentuated my lines no matter which primer I tried( like 5 different ones) and it clung to dry patches. I tried exfoliating, moisturizing, priming nothing worked for me but I wish it had cause it felt amazing on the skin! I say it's worth a try but get the sample before purchasing!

I would say it's a natural medium coverage but very buildable. but honestly, it all depends on how you apply because I usually sheer it out and make it look natural, light coverage (but that's because I don't want people to tell I'm wearing anything). it's not as full coverage as the remarcabIe but you can build it up and it'll be fine. guess if I had to compare it to another I've tried I would say it's the maybelline fit me matte & poreless on steroids. idk I just really like it because it looks natural and controls my oil. but it is not drying WHATSOEVER.. i still have to blot a bit... so I feel any skin type can pull it off. it is just so flattering. definitely try a sample!
you are my "go to" when I want to try new foundations and colors! I'm same color with redness on my face as well. thank you for doing these! It definitely helped my decision on this and the too faced foundation one you did. I tried the too faced amazing face and did not like it! Hoping born this way has better results!

Just out of curiosity why do you apply your powder that way? Doesn't it actually take away from the coverage of the foundation and cause flakes? I thought people kinda lightly pressed. I'm not trying to be mean doe.
i love this foundation, the beauty blender def. works best with it. my skin is very similar to your skin i use my foundation with the cover fx primer that has acne meds in it and it works really great.
this is like my 3rd time watching this video bc I love it so much!!! I was going to tell you also about Paula's Choice skin care. I've used it now for 2 years to treat my cystic acne and it is a game changer. I am sure you've heard of Paula, she was a beauty critic and exposed the beauty industry for years before creating her on line. Long story short try it, truly a holy grail line, with no harsh products but more effective then anything I've ever used.
idk if it's just her skin but I got this concealer when it came out over a year ago and it is super full coverage . it is one of the most full coverage concealers put there actually and idk how it looks and works so horribly on this chick bc it's an amazing high end product .

This was my FAV foundation for over a year i used it every time i wore makeup but after a while it started to dry up on me, i dont know if maybe my skin started to get a little dry or maybe because the foundation was old, I dont know but I LOVED it! Im thinking about getting a sample of a newer one and if its not drying i will buy it again!! xoxo

If you have pores that are noticable a silicone primer should help a lot. :)
Also when applying powder, I would try using a fluffier brush.
The dense brush you use is going to apply a little to much product, on top of that move the product underneath it around and make it look cakier/ streaky.

Estée Lauder creased and settled into all my pores 😩 that and it oxidized with my natural oils and turned orange.
I used Estee Lauders foundation for a while and it was nice but then it started coming off on my nose in the middle of the day. I switched to Lancome's teint idol and it is amazing! Great coverage and looks natural.
+IrmaWorma I tried that one too and it does look a lot more skin like then other medium to full coverage foundations but it still comes off my chin and nose and creases horribly after only an hour or two
I've tried so many foundations and this one actually lasted a very long time compared to all the ones I've tried. MUFE HD looks great but only last an hour tops, L'oreal infallible looks like a hot mess after an hour, Lancôme made me break out, Nars looks like a hot mess too with primer, hourglass is too fuckin matte! Tarte full coverage same thing, too faced born this way- meh....So Ya if you guys can recommend me something that can withstand oily skin let a girl know! :)

For your crusty bits......try 100 percent Aloe Vera gel.......then makeup. I have a teenager and Aloe does wonders for her acne spots!
I absolutely love your foundation reviews, I'm in the middle of trying to find a new one or multiple new ones and these have really helped with down to earth reviews of the foundations rather than someone sponsored to say they love the product.

I love how your skin is actually very similar to your average human female's skin. Like a lot of these (amazing) make up gurus do not seem to hardly have acne, large pores or fine lines for foundation to settle into. I understand completely what you mean by heavier foundations settling into pores so I will definitely get a sample before getting excited and buying a whole tube of this product to make sure it doesn't cake in my nose pores. I'm so happy that this foundation looked similar on you as it did me. I purchased this awhile ago because I have some gnarly hyper pigmentation and it just looked so DRY on me. Now that I'm doubling up my skin care and the colder months are coming there is nooo way I could pull this off now. It's certainly oil absorbing but I wish the little amount of oil it lets come through after a lot of wear was something that happened a bit earlier. Oh well! Onto the next!

The foundation generally looks great on you. I find that if I exfoliate before putting on my makeup, I have no problem with foundation clinging. Also, I've heard putting eyeshadow primer on the nose prior helps too.
Full coverage foundations always feel cakey to me right around my nose and lip area. I've taken to wearing bb cream lately because it's just easier and doesn't sit weird on me. I recently bought Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation and it looks cakey in my "problem areas". I don't use very much and I blended it with my real techniques buffing brush; I've yet to try it with a beauty blender though.
Same here. That foundation from Tarte looks horrible on me, no matter how I apply it. But this foundation from Kat Von d actually looks pretty good on me
+Izzy Rennick the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation is the foundation I use daily and honestly it's pretty okay. But after a bit it does start to look a bit cakey, but honestly it isn't thaat bad and I really like the way that it feels on my face. I've applied it wiith my beauty blender, foundation brush, and hands and honestly I like the way it looks a lot more with the beauty blender. I like it a lot, but if I have any kind of blemish or redness on my face it doesn't seem to realllyy cover it up so I'm probably going to be sticking with it until I find something with a bit better coverage. It is pretty nice feeling on your face throughout the day though !
I use Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation and I love it! My skin is very oily and it holds all day.. I actually layer it twice. Best I have used so far but I think next time I go to Sephora I'll ask for a sample of this Kat Von D just to try it. :)
+Kaitlyn Hathaway It does seem more suited for oily skin types. I've got pretty neutral/combination skin; not too dry and not too oily. I really only get a little oily on my nose and the only areas of my skin that are a little dry is right in the center of my chin and in my smile lines. Other than that it's fine so its a little hard to find good quality full coverage foundation that doesn't lean too far in either direction.
I love that you do first impressions with primer on, if you normally wear a primer then it would be hard to tell how foundations should perform without a primer which could alter your opinion on the foundation.
I must say though, the under eye creasing is to be expected, it's not meant to be used under your eyes as a concealer. The consistency is also way too thick to be expected to not crease under your eyes.
I actually love this foundation though, especially since they released 42 again, it's beautiful and sits on my nose wonderfully which is rare.

The coverage is insanely awesome with such an itty bitty tiny amount but it sank into my pores and accentuated my lines no matter which primer I tried( like 5 different ones) and it clung to dry patches. I tried exfoliating, moisturizing, priming nothing worked for me but I wish it had cause it felt amazing on the skin! I say it's worth a try but get the sample before purchasing!

I would say it's a natural medium coverage but very buildable. but honestly, it all depends on how you apply because I usually sheer it out and make it look natural, light coverage (but that's because I don't want people to tell I'm wearing anything). it's not as full coverage as the remarcabIe but you can build it up and it'll be fine. guess if I had to compare it to another I've tried I would say it's the maybelline fit me matte & poreless on steroids. idk I just really like it because it looks natural and controls my oil. but it is not drying WHATSOEVER.. i still have to blot a bit... so I feel any skin type can pull it off. it is just so flattering. definitely try a sample!

It definitely helped my decision on this and the too faced foundation one you did. I tried the too faced amazing face and did not like it! Hoping born this way has better results!

i love this foundation, the beauty blender def. works best with it. my skin is very similar to your skin i use my foundation with the cover fx primer that has acne meds in it and it works really great.

this is like my 3rd time watching this video bc I love it so much!!! I was going to tell you also about Paula's Choice skin care. I've used it now for 2 years to treat my cystic acne and it is a game changer. I am sure you've heard of Paula, she was a beauty critic and exposed the beauty industry for years before creating her on line. Long story short try it, truly a holy grail line, with no harsh products but more effective then anything I've ever used.
idk if it's just her skin but I got this concealer when it came out over a year ago and it is super full coverage . it is one of the most full coverage concealers put there actually and idk how it looks and works so horribly on this chick bc it's an amazing high end product .
Have you tried the foundation too? B/c it's a lot different than the concealer.
Why would you comment something about a completely different product, especially a concealer for one and then just because it's the same brand doesn't mean it's the same formula. because you know, it's a different product
This was my FAV foundation for over a year i used it every time i wore makeup but after a while it started to dry up on me, i dont know if maybe my skin started to get a little dry or maybe because the foundation was old, I dont know but I LOVED it! Im thinking about getting a sample of a newer one and if its not drying i will buy it again!! xoxo
