I will talk to you a bit about life here in Sri Lanka and let you all know whether our not Sri Lanka is safe to visit at the moment. If there is comparative knowledge of other countries, it is not mentioned here. Every country in the world has different problems. I was talking about how I see Sri Lanka in general.

I was there ten years ago, not long after a civil war ended. Most of the war was in the northern part. In colombo, Kandy, galle and beach areas, very safe and beautiful. Food was delicious. Very impressive.
The people in SL are super chilled, super kind and easy going. It's very safe and a million, million miles away from the chaos of Pakistan, Bangladesh or India. Sri Lanka is a totally different vibe and a lot of this is rooted in their rich history. Glad you both had a good trip. The news always only reports the negative stories as that's what gets eyeballs but never returns later to follow up so to anyone with limited travel experience, the 24/7 mainstream news presents a totally misleading picture.

Sri Lanka is a beautiful country with much to offer to visitors. Despite past political issues, the country is currently on the path to recovery and is welcoming tourists back with open arms. In fact, the tourism industry is seen as an important way to bring in outside investment to help boost the economy.
One of the biggest advantages of visiting Sri Lanka is the favorable exchange rate, where one US dollar is equivalent to 350 Sri Lankan Rupees. This means that visitors can enjoy a good standard of living without having to spend too much. However, it is important to be aware that some locals may try to take advantage of tourists by overcharging them. To avoid being overcharged, it is advisable to negotiate prices and not pay the asked price right away.
Despite this minor issue, Sri Lanka is a wonderful destination to explore and offers a range of attractions such as pristine beaches, ancient temples, lush green forests, and wildlife sanctuaries. Visitors can indulge in a variety of activities including surfing, hiking, exploring local markets, and trying out the delicious local cuisine.
Overall, Sri Lanka is a fantastic destination for travelers seeking adventure, culture, and natural beauty. The country is slowly recovering from its past and is open to welcoming tourists with open arms. So, if you're planning a trip to Sri Lanka, don't hesitate to visit this beautiful country and experience its wonders for yourself.
