    • @sadhlife

      The only difference within the 2 truth tables is m6 and m7, and as specified, you don't care if the answer of m6 and m7 is 0 or 1. so the expression can be simplified.

    In the final step, you arrived at F=A+B, right? Then you said that that was the same as F=A'B+AB' (without the don't care conditions). However, the truth tables of F=A+B and F=A'B+AB' are both very different. Using the don't care conditions should ideally give you a more simplified expression, but WITH THE SAME TRUTH TABLE OUTPUT, right? SO, how does that work here...?

  • @enamhoque7760

    In this tutorial you mentioned that in term of minterm condition we have to take don'tcare as 1 & for maxterm we have to take 0.but it's a little bit confusing to me that when I watched some other videos from different sites they didn't mention anything about minterm & maxterm. they are taking 1 & 0 randomly in term of simplification i mean some times they are taking 1 & somtimes 0 to get the most simplified result,though their function is in minterm condtion.
    Basically my basic in digital electronics is based on neso academy that's why I need your cordial help to get relief from this confusion.

    • @blitzergstrikers1561
      @blitzergstrikers1561 8 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      +Enam Hoque I'm not sure if he is using that as a generic idea, or if he wants people to do that all the time. Personally my textbook says to only use a "don't-care" statement to help satisfy the rules of forming groups. You only want to change a "don't-care" to a 1, if it will maximize your grouping count. For example, he had 2 groups of 2, but he could get 2 groups of 4 if he made both "Don't-care" slots into 1's. So because he could maximize both of his groups he converted the "don't-care" slots to 1's. HOWEVER my book states that you do not want to use a "don't-care" slot to a 1 just to add extra groups to your k-map. This goes against the rules of forming groupings within a K-map. So maximize the size of each group using "don't-care" statements, but do not maximize the amount of groups that you have.
      Hope that helps.

    Hello sir, at 6:17, why did you combine the 1s at cells 4, 5, 7, and 6 all together? I thought that in order to fully simplify a boolean function, all you need to do is to make sure each 1 is part of the grouping and that the largest possible grouping is used and in this case, because there is already a 4 x 4 of 1s formed from cells 3, 2, 7 and 6, we only need to group cells 4 and 5 together and that will result in the minimized function

    K map is used for minimizing the boolean expression..viz it requires less gates to design the circuit.
    But here my qstn is without using dont care condition the result is a x or b
    And using the dont care condition the result is a or b.
    Is it same??? For designing the same circuit??
