What is going on with all of these series with so few episodes? One of the charming parts of kdramas is that they have enough episodes to tell a complete story without having to rush things. They give the story time to breath and unfold.
The majority of the market does not want to spend 100 hours watching a drama. They want a story in a manageable format. I do not even start anything with more than 20 episodes.
Probably trying to cut costs. I agree, 16 seasons is preferred and 12 is acceptable if it's good and have, as a U.S. writer, Shan Wang said, good series "prize emotional clarity" and have "satisfying moral arcs even for side characters."

I've noticed the English dubbed drama's vary in quality dramatically. Some are decent but others are terrible, Alchemy of souls had the best English dub imo

Netflix has been breaking that format as it invests in production of kdramas.
The majority of the market does not want to spend 100 hours watching a drama. They want a story in a manageable format. I do not even start anything with more than 20 episodes.

Netflix often breaks up 16 episode shows into two 8 episode releases.
I enjoy watching shorter dramas with no fillers rather than dramas that add more unnecessary episodes just to make it longer dramas
