Fun fact: Prior to getting the role of Mrs. Potts, Emma Thompson played Mrs. Lovett in the Lincoln Center's staged concert version of "Sweeney Todd", which is another role, it so happens, originated by Angela Lansbury!
Right?? I literally keep crying watching this. They gave so much more emotion in this movie. The add more logical details that connect all the dots, things that the animated one didn’t gave to us (and we’re fine with it because hey it animated movie). But this is what live action should’ve done! The actors are great, they did their portrayal of the characters just right. And the songs, oh especially the new ones are amazing. Days in the sun is sure bring me to tears.
This live action adaptation played a big part in making Beauty and the Beast one of my favorite Disney movies. The whole aesthetic, cast, and soundtrack was just top tier, and I honestly will never forget the first time I heard Evermore (the beasts song) ❤️❤️. I cried since I was so taken with Dan Stevens voice. Honestly one of the best live action adaptations we’ve gotten ❤️❤️. Great reaction Nick ❤️❤️
I’ll be honest, while most live actions (even the ones I adore) I prefer the original, this one I actually loved the live action 10x more then the original, mostly because of all the extra details and changes. Plus, I love that they added so much more music to it.
This is a great movie! When people saw the teaser trailer on TH-cam released a week before Christmas, they were excited to see this movie, even though it was slightly darker than the animated movie itself.
The Beauty and the Beast and the Cinderella live actions are the best remakes ever made by Disney imo (Maleficant is great too but it feels more like a whole new story than a remake bc it’s not centred on Aurora as much as in the original). They are definitely definitely my favourite ones and I enjoy them so much they’ve become some of my comfort movies.
The fact they took Beasts line out of Days In The Sun is a Crime. "What did I do? How did I deserve losing you? Please don't die, you promised to be here with me forever, and now I'm frightened."
Animated Beauty and The Beast belonged to my top 3-movies as a child, so I was both excited and nervous about this new version. All in all, I am very satisfied with it. It brings me so much nostalgia and hits me in the feels every single time. I'm very glad you like the new songs and most of the additions. Thanks for your reaction.
The live action version of Beauty & The Beast is my favourite of the live action Disney remakes. It's visually stunning, & the cast all fit their roles perfectly (especially Luke Evans & Josh Gad as Gaston & Lafu). The original animated version was a favourite of mine growing up, so getting to relive my childhood seeing this in the movie theatre in 3d was amazing, one of the best experiences i've had in a movie theatre.
This was the best "remake" Disney has ever done. Not only did we get fantastic performances from every cast member, but the story was filled out in a way we never got before. We got to not only see how Adam got his starting personality, but we learned what happened to Belle's mother. The scenes are extraordinary, the score is great. Everything that wasn't in the animated version did nothing but really Add to the entire story.
I really enjoy this live adaptation to Beauty and the Beast. It not only tells the original plot of the original well, it adds a bit more context to the things that weren’t explained before. Thanks for sharing your reaction and thoughts on this film, Nick!
Merry Christmas. I'm glad you liked it, I thought this version of beauty and the beast did justice when I first saw it in theaters in IMAX 3-D. My favorite parts of the film were Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as LeFou, and Kevin Kline as Maurice.
This is actually my favorite live action disney movie. Emma watson's singing is *chefs kiss* . oh, and the animation, acting, is just.. i love this movie man

I'm glad you could enjoy this!! I like it okay for myself. I don't love it and I watched it several times wishing that I did lol. For me, there was a big pack of chemistry between Belle and the Beast as opposed to the original where you really feel it. I love Gaston though and the Beast's song. Definitely watch Cinderella, in my opinion it's still the best live action remake despite being one of the oldest.
This is one of the best live action remakes and I actually love more than the original the relationship between Belle and Adam was alot more believable and developed. Cinderella not my cup of tea that I intend to watch again so soon
Love it, best reaction yet and probably of all yours, specifically because the moments where something special is going on, like the gold being put on the yellow dress and other ones where you stare with eyes big and open full of joy and wonder like a child witnessing real magic for the first time. Or like a child seeing Santa's workshop in person.
24:14 this was a line change from the original song. It was originally, "Ten years weve been rusting". This was changed because the line, along with the backstory, implied he was a child when he was cursed.
One thing to remember, the animated version is not the “original version”. They went back to the original version with a majority of this film. Her father was a clockmaker, belle was inventive and trying to teach children to read, her dad stole a rose and that was the reason he was imprisoned, the beast and everyone in the castle was forgotten by the world until the spell was broken, and he had and used the book that could bring him anywhere in the world.
I love this reboot as much as I love the animated version; plus it's my favorite Disney Princess movie 💛. Thank you Nick for reacting to this movie and Merry Christmas 🎄
Emma Watson said before taking on the role of Belle, she watched the original film when she was little. Paige O’Hara (the original voice of Belle) even offered to give her singing lessons to get the songs just right.
Luke evans who plays Gaston has an amazing voice they definitely casted the right person and Josh gadd who plays le fu is hilarious 🤣😂🤣😂 Happy Christmas nice hope you had a good day 😊😊
Luke Evans did a skit on James Cordon's show about who's the sexiest singer! He also does a hysterical (and for adults only) reading of fans' "thirst tweets." And, he has an album.🙂❤
This one is one of the favorite remakes that may not be better than the original but it’s just as good as. I did love how not only did we get more depth with the characters but that we literally see what would happen if the curse had ran its course. There is a theory that because Belle and her father were from Paris originally that when they moved to the village the reason it is always the same as the day before is that the enchantress placed a time loop spell on the village that way they repeat the same day over and over. So it is possible that the village has been stuck in a time warp in the past whereas in the real world it’s been progressing. It could also explain why they find Belle’s love for books so appalling. 🤴🏻🧙🏻♀️🌹👹👩🏼🥀💛💙❤️
4:33 that woman is the bimbettes mother in this version I heard somewhere that the reason the bimbettes dislike belle is because their mother acted as her surrogate mother and in doing so had unintentionally neglected them and focused on her that would give them a more deep reason for their animosity towards her rather than it being because of gaston it would also make them more like beauty's wicked sisters from the original tale
I agree with you about Emma Watson's singing. They went a little strong with the autotune so her vocals do sound a bit... Electronic to my ears? And the guy who plays Gaston does have an amazing voice! So booming.
There is a theory that says Gaston and the Prince once were friends, but when Prince became a beast, he forgot abt Gaston. But in the moment the beast almost kill Gaston, he remembers his old friend (you can see how beast's expression changes) and that's why he doesn't kill him. And also he gets upset seeing what Gaston has become
I'm so glad you loved it. Beauty and the beast is one of my all time favorites growing up and I cried the first time I saw the live action, especially when I saw them dance for the first time in the live action. It was so special to me and memorable. The songs are amazing and I get hyped every time I see the movie as though it was the first time seeing it and I saw it the same day it came out on dvd. Bought it immediately, that was my goal and late birthday present for that day. By the way the name of that beautiful song at the end is called How Does A Moment Last Forever by Celine Dion. And yes, see Cinderellla. My other favorite as a child and live action. They did an incredible job in the live action for that one too.
I did like the live action, the part that brought me to tears the most was when everyone: Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts and Chip were turning into immobile objects
I'm really happy you enjoyed this because I've always loved it and it got a lot of hate when it came out which made me sad, many people seem to not like it at all so it made me really happy to see you enjoyed it and to see so many likeminded people in the comment section too! I agree with the points you made, loved the new added songs and thought the casting was amazing. I especially enjoy having Emma Thompson (who you recognized from Saving Mr Banks!) in anything since she's been my favourite actress for years and I loved to see her take on Mrs Potts and the "Beauty and The Beast" song - she actually talked to Angela Lansbury (who sings it in the original) about it bc she was aware what an iconic performance it is and wanted to do it justice, which I thought was really sweet and lovely. You should check out more of her movies, honestly, but I'm digressing haha. Anyway, loved the reaction, I'm really excited for Cinderella which is another of my personal favourite remakes and I'm sure you'll love it!
Fact: the fi was originally not planned to be a musical, which is why the cast was who it was. This is why a lot of autotune was used during the songs, since some actors weren't trained singers.
You should react to Jean Cocteau's black and white French version of the film? It's a 1946 film. It's truly the best beauty and beast film ever made in my opinion. It's an unmitigated masterpiece.
Finally, a video by someone who actually watched without any prior intention to hate a film or determined to view it in a negative light. There aren't many youtubers or audiences who do that. There's nothing wrong with disliking or loving a movie on your own volition & own judgement. There's certainly wrong with following or echoing a 'viral' or popular opinion like how ChatGPT works 😅 especially negative opinions... It's crazy how much the film got so much hate just because the actress decided not to wear a corset for 1 dress that she wore for mere minutes...
Nickflix, what is your opinon on when Belle calls Gaston out for being the only "monster" she knows? PS: One of the scenes this video skipped was when the Beast told Gaston that "he (the Beast) am not... a beast"

Beauty is my favorite Disney too, love in this one they actually use their own voice and dont lipsync. Yeah rumor has it Emma autotuned but it's still better the dumb lip sync. Love the actors chosen too
They aren’t the same voice because the e Gaston and Lefu in this one don’t sound like they do but Lefou kind of does but Gaston just doesn’t sound the same
Unpopular opinion but I definitely prefer the original- however they fix a lot of plot holes and background in this adaptation so it definitely works better in terms of the story. Theres nothing universally ‘bad’ with this version it’s just the original is a huge part of my childhood (2nd fave film after Lion King). However I’m glad you watched it- great reaction. Looking forward to Narnia.
I absolutely love this version of the movie. If you ever get a chance, you should listen to the Beauty and the Beast Broadway soundtrack. Home and If I Can’t Love Her are absolutely amazing. One thing I really like about this version is that the Beast can read. In the original, Belle teaches him how. I always thought that it was weird that a prince wouldn’t have had tutors growing up. I liked that change a lot.
Out of all the Disney remakes, this one was the best like it actually sucked to the story and the changes actually were good in the movie. It really helped make the movie more interesting I remember seeing this in theaters and Bell was my godmother’s favorite, Disney princess😊❤
Hey Nick! I saw you found Lefou familiar. That's because he's Olaf from Frozen. So you've heard his voice. He may also possibly be Quasimodo in a live action Hunchback of Notre Dame. There's talks about it but no confirmation yet
I remember seeing this in theaters with my Mom and we both really enjoyed it!! I don't think I'd say it's better than the original, but it's definitely closer than other remakes. I remember really loving the song "Evermore", it's my personal fave song in this remake!! I've also heard some people cover this song on TH-cam and it's great; I definitely encourage you to listen to Elsie Lovelock's cover, it's mind-blowing!!!💖💗
I absolutely love Beauty and the Beast, but personally I was disappointed with the live action version. It just didn't seem like it had the same magic as the original animated version has for me. I could watch the original animated version over and over and over and over again and never get tired of it. Where as with this version, I can only watch once in a great while.
I agree, the Live Action is good I think, but the Original Animation contained the "Magic" that was not reproduced again in the Remake. Emma Watson wasn't as expressive and striking as Belle was and Dan Stevens did a decent job but didn't reach the same charming level as the Beast/Prince and Couple's chemistry wasn't as beautiful either.
Hey everyone, Merry Christmas and hope you enjoyed the reaction!! See you tomorrow for Narnia with ItsTotally Cody!!

The animated and remake of Beauty and the Beast were my absolute favorites!👑👹🥀
You’ve set such a high bar for any reactions to this movie! Amazing! Just found you! I’m definitely subscribing so I can see more!
I did like the live action, the part that brought me to tears the most was when everyone: Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts and Chip were turning into immobile objects
Yeah because the curse was going off that’s why they did it that’s why it turned straight to morning cause the curse was off
Personally i love this remake more than the original, i love the extra songs in it, especally Evermore.
Kevin Kline did an AMAZING job as Maurice! Maybe they could contact him to play Phoebus again for their Hunchback Of Notre Dame remake.?
Merry Christmas nick! loved your reaction beauty and the beast is honestly one of my favourite Disney movies besides brother bear
The part with Chip and Ms. Potts sent me into a Niagara Falls moment..too much!!!
Merry Christmas nick i you're enjoying the i lovwd the songs but the cartoon will aways be my favorite ❤️💚❤️🎄🎄
I love this movie. My favourites of the live actions are this, maleficent 1 n 2, cruella and cinderella. If you haven't watched those please do.
The best adaptation of live action disney princess
You should watch cinderella live action too, its also beautiful ❤
Finally, a video by someone who actually watched without any prior intention to hate a film or determined to view it in a negative light. There aren't many youtubers or audiences who do that. There's nothing wrong with disliking or loving a movie on your own volition & own judgement. There's certainly wrong with following or echoing a 'viral' or popular opinion like how ChatGPT works 😅 especially negative opinions... It's crazy how much the film got so much hate just because the actress decided not to wear a corset for 1 dress that she wore for mere minutes...
34:21 - This scene, right here, breaks me every-time. Emma was the only one who could have done that.
Well, that’s not a surprise because she was born in France and she’s also an amazing singer
@@QR974exactly- I genuinely don’t understand people who dislike this film. It baffles me.
I love beauty and the beast 2017 nice surprise
Same it’s so nice
I remember when i went to go see this with my mom. We both loved it
I love how much you loved this movie!! Merry Christmas!
This is the best live action IMHO. The new songs? So good.
Nickflix, what is your opinon on when Belle calls Gaston out for being the only "monster" she knows?
PS: One of the scenes this video skipped was when the Beast told Gaston that "he (the Beast) am not... a beast"
I still remember watching the live action Beauty and the Beast in theaters
Merry Christmas Nick! Beauty and the Beast is my favorite 💚 I’m so glad you finally watched it 🥹

Emma Watson from harry potter is in this, and the love story between Belle and the Beast is very beautifull. Marry Christmas Nick.
Beauty is my favorite Disney too, love in this one they actually use their own voice and dont lipsync. Yeah rumor has it Emma autotuned but it's still better the dumb lip sync. Love the actors chosen too
Gaston and his side kick are the original voice from The Beauty and the Beast.
They aren’t the same voice because the e Gaston and Lefu in this one don’t sound like they do but Lefou kind of does but Gaston just doesn’t sound the same
They aren’t the same voices Luke Evans and Josh Gad play them in this one while other actors do in the og
definitely one of the better live adaptations
Agreed and This Version is Very Good at Times!
Belle's wedding dress was outstanding
The singer in the credits is Celine Dion. She’s a phenomenal artist. Definitely check her out.
Out of all the Disney remakes, this one was the best like it actually sucked to the story and the changes actually were good in the movie. It really helped make the movie more interesting I remember seeing this in theaters and Bell was my godmother’s favorite, Disney princess😊❤
Merry Christmas Nick😊😊😊😊
Merry Christmas Nick. I hope that it’s a good one for you.
Merry Christmas Nick
I enjoyed seeing Hermoine, Obi Wan Kenobi, and Magneto in this remake.
Not to mention Owen Shaw and Olaf.
@@pricemoore2022 Owen Shaw?

I like the John Legend/Ariana Grande version of Beauty and the Beast song, but nothing beats the Celine Dion/Peabo Bryson Original 🌹
Merry Christmas!
I like this movie and im watching on my birthday today🎉❤
Merry Christmas Nick! Love ur reactions! :)
