Sorry for my poor English, but let me explain. When Hachiman and Hayama were talking, at 7:14, Hachiman said that he doesn't understand what Hayama is trying to protect (the "shallow relation ship" which Hachiman calls). But actually he DOES understand the comfort of having someone around or close to him at season 2(this is the "lie" part he was referring to). This is the big difference between season1. During the trip in Kyoto(episode1 and 2), you could see Hachiman and Yui/Yukinoshita having good time being together. But he also knows that he himself will get hurt if he desire such kind of relationship by his experience. So, he at least tries to stand in a position where he doesn't understand why Hayama would protect such relationship. However, if he sticks to keeping this stance, it is inevitable that sooner or later he would hurt Yui/Yukinoshita's feelings. In episode12 of season 1, Hiratsuka-sensei said that he should know that there ARE people who will get hurt watching Hikki getting hurt. Since he kept his stance of not understanding this fact, he ended up hurting Yui/Yuki's feelings. Above is just my opinion of the story so maybe there are some mistakes >< But most importantly, I totallly love your reaction videos and I am looking forward for more! Love from Japan~^^ 応援してます!
His liar comment stems from the fact he has made it clear he cannot stand superficial relationships or people and yet he stuck his neck on the chopping block to ensure those type of friendships for people he doesn’t even really like survive. There’s another reason and you’ve probably already seen it by now but for posterity I won’t bother mentioning it here.
this was the start of the season's troubles, Hachiman and Yukino always argue but they always agree on one thing, they hate superficial relationships. According to Hachiman and Yukino, the relationship between Hayama and his group was superficial, but Hachiman protected that superficial relationship, Hachiman also felt a parallel between Hayama's group and the service club, which is why hayama said that "What about you?" this was why Hachiman said he was the biggest liar and that was why Yukino was angry too. Hachiman destroyed something that connected the two of them. I hope you remember this until the end of the season, at least until episode 8, it will help you understand the conflict of this season.
I also think that Yukino was so upset because unlike other times, this went against Hachiman's principles. Before he just did thinks that he thought were right to do in his crude ways. But like you said, she knows that he doesn't really support this but did it anyway to fulfill the request they got. It feels like he kinda sold out or bent his principles to "please" others which he never did before. Plus I think it was also just painful for her and Yui to see the guy they like to confess to someone else, even if he didn't mean it.
That’s still partly the girls fault for placing the entire problem on his shoulders alone. They didn’t give any ideas or help come up with a solution whatsoever
It was totally unnecessary and they could have come up with a better way to handle things. This is just like what happened with Tsurumi. Hachiman didn't fix the problem, he ended it.
@Jeffrey Ali I don't think it's a problem if Tobe got rejected. It would be emotional growth in life for all of them. Sometimes it's after losing something we realize how much we value that thing. RIght now, Hayam, Blondie and Ebina want to keep things as it is and thinks everything will fall apart. But that's because they are afraid to get real with each other since they are so settled in their established personas. They could have temporary be distant before realizing how much they miss each other and come back stronger

Like Yumiko said in the flashback that Ebina got very cold when Yumiko keep insisting to introduce her to a guy. So i think the real Ebina is a very cold person, but because she desires to have a relationship with others she created a fake personality.
the essence of this show, is the search for something genuine, that is really rare and hard to come by, its common for people to create fake personas cause they are scared of what people would think if there were their truth selves, so yeah Ebina is probably very different than what she shows (but her love for BL is real hahaha), i feel like on that little chat in the end that she had with Hachiman, she felt that even tho they were "strangers", they were somewhat alike, cause she hates herself for not being "real", and we know that Hachiman doesn't like himself either (even tho he says that he doesnt really care), this was a bit of a heart to heart realization that led to the final Hachiman phrase where he said the biggest liar would be him. the nuances and the complexity of the characters on this show is just amazing, a real masterpiece of its kind.
"Rotten" also has a different meaning. I found a pretty good explanation: What does the Japanese word fujoshi mean? According to Just A Little Japanese, Urban Dictionary, My Anime List, Futekiya, and Fanlore, the word fujoshi (腐女子) literally translates to “rotten girl” or “rotten woman.” However, this term is used to refer to a woman who enjoys watching anime, manga, and other forms of Japanese media that feature male/male, or yaoi relationships. This is also referred to as boys’ love or “BL” when referring to these genres.
this isn´t "a phase, I got the same personality trade, even tho you understand others and emphasize with them, Why would anyone care when I don´t ... I decided to do things my way why would anyone else care ? This way of thinking will always stuck with you
Hachiman is saying he's the biggest liar basically because he hates the superficial relationships that people like Hayama has with his friend group, yet here he defended those superficial relationships that he professes to hate so much
Everyone was having their own agenda here, from Yui that uses Tobe's request to be with Hachiman in the whole trip to Hayato which was trying to keep his group intact, because he needs Yumiko to repel away girls to approach him since every girl is scared of Yumiko apparently. No one really seriously fullfil Tobe's request except Hachiman and Yukino. But Hachiman make a mistake, that makes their superficial relationshipb(Hayato Group) continues to going on. Which Yukino disappointed in Hachiman because she thought that Hachiman was a man that hate that kind of relationship.

One thing to notice on this episode, is how something as a confession would affect a group of friends, there were just no way to win, if Ebina accepted things would change, if she rejected him, things would also change, thats why Hachiman thought that it was the only way for things to stay the same (but nobody wins on this episode). A lot of people on that age are really scared of changes, even me that i'm at my 40s, i don't like abrupt changes, but things are not bound to be the same always, they are going to change in one way or another. Even on this anime, and in real life, it's really hard to find something real, something genuine, if their friendship was made up on the personas that everyone creates there, the group it's bound to fall apart, it wouldn't have the strength to sustain itself after a tiny bit of a change, thats why Hayato doesn't want changes, he feels that their group is close on the outside, but not so much in the inside, and he doesn't want to deal with the consequences cause it's comfortable for them to stay as they are. Friendships, love interests that are truth and genuine are really really hard to find, and sometimes even harder to maintain, its much easier to create a persona and shield yourself from the consequences of the gamble that is needed to make something real work out. Cause in the end if you not being yourself, you have nothing to lose, cause you had nothing to begin with.
Love this series and it really makes you think! There’s so much drama between characters and each side has their rationale. Of course Hachiman is correct that this was the most logical way to handle things and accomplished both requests given to them and kind of let down all parties gently, but Yui and Yukino were also right to dislike his way of handling things since it’s insensitive to people’s feelings. I wonder if Hachiman’s final line at the end was maybe referencing how he is ok/thinks it was the best way to handles things? Maybe he secretly doesn’t like it, and knows there’s probably a better way, but it’s the only way he knows how and he can’t change? (Just shooting some guesses in the dark 😭)
The show constantly letus know that hichi is wrong with the way of he resolved the problems because he dont resolve nothing only dismiss or avoid, and thats not how an adult resolve troubles. Its something that is (i think) a great problem with japanese culture? In this case, oregairu take that and its peak is just when Hachiman understand it...then the romance is good but the peak is this idea.
He's the biggest liar because he talks a lot about his dislike of superficial relationships. But what makes a relationship superficial? It's a lack of sincerity, a lack of authenticity, behaving in a way just to please others. And he does exactly that! He lies to other people, he lies to himself by being rational. But!! He's also realizing that by using his usual methods, he's also hurting the people he was finally able to connect with! He's aware of it, but he pretends not to notice or not to care, he's just using his logical approach as an excuse and he knows it!
I just realized how cruel Hayama and Ebina did to Hachiman here. Why they need to ask help from service club? Why did Hayama suggested to Tobe to ask them for help? and Ebina too? Hayama and Ebina both dont want for their group to change but they both cant sacrifice themselves. Thats why they thought of asking Hachiman, an outside force and is willing to sacrifice his self, they know this bcoz of what happened in the festival. They took advantage of it.
I know that they want to help Hachiman but if Hachiman didn't do what he did no one would "solve" the problem. Hachiman saves everybody but nobody so far has saved him.
the question do u want a fake relationship or be possible rejected trying to get a real one, is a question that only the person himself can answer. hachiman himself wouldn't have wont that but yet forced it on other people cause he think its better.
@@rushyscoper1651 I don’t get what you’re tryna say but if you’re saying that Hachiman didn’t “solve” the problem because he forced the fake relationship that he hates onto others then I think you’re wrong. The problem in the first place was how to keep their fake relationship because they want things to stay the way it is, it was never about trying to break the fake relationship into a real genuine one. They decided to keep things the way it is and Hachiman did his job sacrificing himself in the process. Hachiman didn’t force it on them they forced him to do it for them.
Hachiman is a "Winston Wolf" of the situation at the moment: he solves problems. Sure, no one likes the way he solve those problems, but at least he does; we've already seen that at the end of season 1. But the best is yet to come!

@@BC107BP i would say the season 1 solution wasn't actually that bad, even by his friend views, he only hurted himself for them. here did the same thing but extra ignoring what that guy would have wanted. sometimes for people that do have crush its better to be rejected then to avoid it everyone is different.
my memories from watching this show is surging in my brain like a truck unloading it's carriage on me. I also have some sort of similar experience from this when I'm wall still on high school, I was about to confess to my friend but a guy from a different class confessed to her in front of me and got dumped instantly so I just didn't. I did confessed a few months later but got denied ehehe 😅 but we're still friends till this day and that's fine with me
i think he calling himself a lier at the end because he give rationalizing to how he does stuff even so sometimes they are just that rationalizing to justify how he like to do stuff. its like an armor for why he does what he does sometimes.
It’s very simple , if the girls wanted a different solution or their “feelings to be considered” then they shouldn’t have placed sole responsibility on him to find a solution. They weren’t helpful in the least with this issue, and if you aren’t going to be helpful then don’t bitch when the solution comes around and you don’t like it.
Now we start to understand why this season is depth, Hachiman says he's the biggest liar because he's starting to realize he doesn't want to be as lonely as he seems. He even starts to be in the same comfortable position next to Yukino and Yui and knows he can hurt both. Yuki and Yui reaction shows the first sign of how much they care about him.
Again the psychological play in tbis anime is so high for a rom com lmao, i would say classic rom com like Oregairu are the best because it's not just about doing funny things.
Can someone explain this to me? I understand that the first time he said that Yukino got to do the way she wants to do the thing so he wanted to do the way he wanted to do things, maliciously (among other things forgot tho) and coldly so he said the brutal honest truth. To the chairman Like doesn't sugar coat at all just blasting her and I get it The guy later says that he knows that this is the way hachiman does thing and he hate it But I don't understand why he says the same thing over here like knowing how he does things and apologized that hachiman had to take the rejection And Yukio said that she hates his methods This is not a situation where he ridicules someone coldly but he knew that she was gonna reject the guy so he barges in and says it first. In order to let the guy understand that she doesn't want to date anyone The way they said it, it's kinda like bringing it back to the part where hikigaya bullied the chairman like I know how you do things Or is it the fact that everyone knows that hikigaya takes the hit for himself and he suffers for it. But that doesn't add up with the guy when he said I know how you do things, sorry because he never really witnessed it but the teacher and Yukino knows about it

so here are my thoughts this episode:
- that confession scene made me so sad - i completely understand yukino's feelings about hachiman's actions. i think there's a sense of helplessness that yukino and yui feel, in that no matter what they do they can't help hachiman. both yukino and yui have grown in their own ways, and hachiman has stayed the same. hachiman and ebina are very similar in that way which they recognized at the end of the episode.
- i really thought they were going to make ebina gay because of the way they explained she rejected every guy + her blushing at saki + her super intense interest in BL LOL (i also think i missed the line last episode where she mentioned she didn't want things to change). but it makes so much sense that her (along with hayama and other friends) would want to keep their friend group the same. it seems like a very teenager thing to not want things to change if they're going good, especially if they're towards the end of their high school career where things are going to change drastically soon (graduation, college, etc.) it's frustrating to see but hopefully she'll eventually grow.
- i'm still confused about hachiman's final line. the biggest liar is himself??? i'm not sure if they're going to address that in later episodes but i can't figure out why he said that.
overall, i'm really enjoying this season so far. it feels much more in depth than season 1!

@@Ryu.86 "they" who they? everyone but the guy who asked for hachiman help.
hachiman doesn't know what the guy want and if he put himself in his show he would have wanted to know, even after it ended that guy expressed that he didn't like what he did he wanted to find out for himself even at risk of ruining the whole thing.
otherwise he would have been way happy for hachiman saving his "fake relationship" it doesn't look like he valued it but i can be wrong same way hachiman can be wrong.
@@BC107BP i would say the season 1 solution wasn't actually that bad, even by his friend views, he only hurted himself for them.
here did the same thing but extra ignoring what that guy would have wanted.
sometimes for people that do have crush its better to be rejected then to avoid it everyone is different.
8:56 miso going through it with us 😂
my memories from watching this show is surging in my brain like a truck unloading it's carriage on me. I also have some sort of similar experience from this when I'm wall still on high school, I was about to confess to my friend but a guy from a different class confessed to her in front of me and got dumped instantly so I just didn't.
I did confessed a few months later but got denied ehehe 😅 but we're still friends till this day and that's fine with me
one of my fav episodes!
i think he calling himself a lier at the end because he give rationalizing to how he does stuff even so sometimes they are just that rationalizing to justify how he like to do stuff.
its like an armor for why he does what he does sometimes.
i miss this 😂❤
It’s very simple , if the girls wanted a different solution or their “feelings to be considered” then they shouldn’t have placed sole responsibility on him to find a solution. They weren’t helpful in the least with this issue, and if you aren’t going to be helpful then don’t bitch when the solution comes around and you don’t like it.
They dont have 200 IQ like Hachiman man, who would've think that Hachiman gonna trigger their jealousy by solving the problem
now the drama has started :')
Again the psychological play in tbis anime is so high for a rom com lmao, i would say classic rom com like Oregairu are the best because it's not just about doing funny things.
basically, i get hurt when you get hurt.
8:57 かわいい〜英語全然聞き取れないから勉強しないと
My favourite anime that i watch every 3-6 months ( whole 3 s)
And suggest others to watch
黒猫ちゃんが可愛い(*´ω`*)✨
Need a classroom of the elite reaction after oregairu hachiman and ayanokouji are goats 😭 🔥
Since the discussion is fresh. How could Hachiman handle it differently and achieve a more positive effect
Because all of them become real
ありがとう❤
Weirdly enough Ebina is actually one of the sanest in this show along with Zaimokuza, ngl
Can someone explain this to me? I understand that the first time he said that Yukino got to do the way she wants to do the thing so he wanted to do the way he wanted to do things, maliciously (among other things forgot tho) and coldly so he said the brutal honest truth. To the chairman
Like doesn't sugar coat at all just blasting her and I get it
The guy later says that he knows that this is the way hachiman does thing and he hate it
But I don't understand why he says the same thing over here like knowing how he does things and apologized that hachiman had to take the rejection
And Yukio said that she hates his methods
This is not a situation where he ridicules someone coldly but he knew that she was gonna reject the guy so he barges in and says it first. In order to let the guy understand that she doesn't want to date anyone
The way they said it, it's kinda like bringing it back to the part where hikigaya bullied the chairman like I know how you do things
Or is it the fact that everyone knows that hikigaya takes the hit for himself and he suffers for it. But that doesn't add up with the guy when he said I know how you do things, sorry because he never really witnessed it but the teacher and Yukino knows about it
The guy you mean is Hayama? He witnesses Hachiman ways a couple of time in season 1, no?
Day 77 of requesting Alana to watch Plastic Memories.
