I'm sorry for your loss, city and colour and a band called Blind Pilot have gotten me through some tuff times. Happy to see you're keeping your head up after such tragedies.

I've been listening and loving this record since it's release, and although knowing the story behind this song, it brought an extra tear to my eye along with this reaction. Bless you good man, and all praise C+C.

Dallas wrote this after his good friend and producer died while scuba diving in Australia while the band was touring. Happy that you found City and Colour, I feel you are in for an amazing journey. Try a few of his others like Body in a Box, Coming Home, Hello I'm in Delaware. Incredible artist and awesome reaction video you have a new subscriber. Try a reaction to Tyler Childers "Nose On the Grindstone" or "Shake the Frost".

So happy you found City and Colour and subsequently I found your channel! They were a favorite of my best and I. She passed away in 2009 and I’ve gone through many seasons of losses since then with City and Colour and Dallas Green always works magic on my soul.
There is beauty in our pain and life in our loss ♥️✨

I’ve loved his songs for years.
So sorry for your losses. Very glad you’re doing well. Strength comes from pain & hardship, that’s for sure!
I’m in my late fifties, lost my mom in ‘95. She gave me unconditional love but my dad brought his pain with him & hurt his children emotionally sometimes, without being too aware. He regretted it before he died.
I talk to them both now, on the other side
    ✌️ 🕊️
    Love from Canada 💕

I am an alcoholic with a new born. I spent the most of my late 20’s trying to change. Lost a friend recently before my son was born because he tried to quit drinking on his own. I kept telling him to go to detox. Monday I’m going to detox and I finally have to face everything. I have to be a better dad for my son. And rip Dustin. I will always love you

I still can't hear this song without choking up because it hits so close to home.
I'm not alone in that regard, we all experience loss at some point.
Peace and love to you all.

"Look back at all that negative and find that seed of positive." That sentiment is the whole point of his music. He said many times that a lot of his songs are "negative in a positive way." There's a message of hope in nearly everything he writes. You're in for a ride. I "discovered" Dallas Green about a week after my father died: "Waiting..."

I've had my share of loss, too. I think that pain was dealt to us to show the others how to carry it. By no means is it easy, but who better than us? I appreciate you, brother. Much love.

Chaos is the harbinger of change. Sad how it's the darkest of times that causes us to change, cope, reflect. You have to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight

This man Dallas saved my life literally. When my beautiful 24 year old neice was found raped and murdered I was so consumed with grief it almost killed me and then one day I discovered Dallas and he helped me day by day to deal with it.This man has saved so many people with his voice alone. What a load to carry and at times Dallas feels all of our pain just as I feel his pain when he is singing.RIP Lori Lynn Harrison 2005 Dallas is GOAT six times in concert.

I know I’m late to the party but great reaction. This song really hits me deep. Around the time it came out I also lost a son to trisomy 18. 9 months after that I lost my baby girl at around 20 weeks when my wife had a miscarriage. I listened to this song so many times during that period. It was a tough time for sure but I still have healthy 6 year old boy and god willing, a baby girl arriving around Christmas time. When times get tough, you get get tougher.

Great reaction video. Immediate subscribe. I love your energy. I’ve had my fair share of loss and through it all I try my best to be the things I loved the most about the people who are gone. I feel like a little piece of them lives on in me and that their energy is still with me. I love to see your reaction to city and colour’s latest release - underground. They have saved my life more than once with their music!

Thanks for sharing your story. I think death is one is those things that shakes your faith. Particularly when you are young. Mine wavered at 14 when I lost my grandfather but found my way back at 22. You should listen to coming home. It’s perfection.

I lost my best friend at 18 from a car accident. My brother was gone. I didn't handle it well but I had to stop feeling sorry for myself and honestly jt was when my wife came into my life I started to realize that. I am back with my family and all is as well as it could be. As long as we're here it always is.

Just to be clear, City and Colour are not religious, nor does their singer practice any religion. This song is for the best friend he lost in 2019.
“Well, I'm born and raised Catholic and I went to Catholic school my whole life and can't help but sort of be swayed certain ways just because of what I've been taught. Now I'm not a practicing Catholic, I haven't been since I left school and whether you believe or not, you can still sort of be observational when looking at these things.
And so when I knew I was going to write about sort of my experience with grief, and what I was going through meant to be was a way for me to eulogize my friend, but also ask a bigger question.”
