Update: You guys, Just because I dont like something doesnt mean its trash. I personally am not a fan of poppy mainstream music, I said this in my drake video I love drake but I only like certain drake songs. I am not a fan of mainstream music & I am not a fan of upbeat poppy music. When it comes to “After Hours” the body of work was amazing! the roll out one of the best i’ve seen done in years, however I was not interested. Is that a crime? in my opinion the weeknd has already proven his musical abilities to me with trilogy, but guess what? he doesn’t make music just “for me” so my opinion is just that, my opinion. I understand how the music industry works & how necessary album rollouts are but at the same time the new artists we have now, almost always fail to properly execute a great roll outs, therefore I kind of lost interest in rollouts, so when the weeknd was rolling out after hours, I had no desire to look into it. In conclusion, my opinion doesn’t take away an artists greatness & talents, these are just MY thoughts🤍 thank you for watching! & please continue to tell me your thoughts.

i find it kinda hard to belive there is a weeknd fan that didnt enjoy the song after hours, faith or alone again. but i guess they do exist.

damn after hours is probably one of the best album rollouts I’ve ever seen, I didn’t see it as unnecessary at all and more like he’s showcasing his ability to tell a story 😩 like other artists aren’t putting this much effort into their eras

Most of them care about money and popularity and most of them within years will die out. The Weeknd will always remain #1 in this generation because that's a true musical genius that many of them lack. 🙌
I should say a musical lyrical poet that many lack nowadays.
After Hours is definitely his best album it’s the 10 year response to that lifestyle of Trilogy my favorite song is “After Hours” n “Until I bleed it Out”. The roll out was legendary his career is 10 year longs he needed to switch things up to add more excitement After Hours was an era it’s called art

I think more people can relate to After Hours compared to Trilogy. That's why it's considered his best project. I think its his best album by far, the storytelling, the instrumentals, the vocals and most importantly, the emotions.
i love trilogy, but after hours is a superior by a long shot in my eyes

after hours is a masterpiece, the fuck you talking about. you need to hear more music, some aphex twin shit, some brian eno shit, some giorgio moroder shit. nobody is doing that shit right now. listen to oneohtrix point never as well.
Yes, there is pop in this album, but is not the same pop you heard everyday on the radio, it's something special. like the fuck he had a fucking saxophone solo in In Your Eyes.
You can find alt-r&b, drum n bass, synth pop, new wave, trip-hop in this album.

I'm the same way, The Weeknd is something personal and special to me so whenever he releases new music I'm not on it like that until " my own time" and in that way I enjoy more without watching reactions- in my own time, in my own world XO
I respect your opinion not being a fan. Tbh I think you more you understand that all his music means something and start to realize it, you’ll like songs more you didn’t think you would.
I’m about to check out those albums. I didn’t even know he started out 10 years ago.

Can’t really call you a m Weeknd fan because it sounds like you only listen to the album once, take a few songs out, and never listen to it again. The fact that you like little to nothing past Kissland doesn’t make you a fan. You can like his early work but I wouldn’t call myself a fan after neglecting 4 projects from his later work just because he’s trying something different.
