It's basically modern aerial deployment 101 used by every competent military force, mainly because getting faceplanted by heavy cargo tends to not go very well for your health.

Technically females can't be space marines but the genetic engineering had a slight miscalculation so one became a female is a reasonable excuse.
They can’t become Space Marines, but they can become part of the Adeptus Sororitas, more commonly known as the Sisters of Battle. Which is about the closest one can get to becoming a Space Marine if you happen to be a woman.

So, thing about 40K lore K’s that it’s true women can’t be space marines but according to some lore nerds it’s only 1 in 20.000 boys who have the right genes, muscle structure and mental fitness to be considered and out of that only 10% actually succeed…
So in short, women may not be able to be space marines but neither is more then 99% of men.

Stormtroopers are actually very good shots. The reason they miss so much in the movies is that the Force is literally protecting the heroes.

I believe women CAN become Space Marines the same way Male Guardsmen can. Via this post-adolescence surgery thingy that members of the Imperial Guard can be granted when achieving noteworthy results in battle. Feel free to correct me, if I'm wrong on this, tho.

Canonically, no. They cannot survive the implantation and augmentation process.
Unless they’re part of Slaanesh’s Chaos marines… (I think it’s slaanesh, my knowledge of WH40K lore is extremely limited…)
Not even in that case. I know chaos a little better, so, while you could have a woman in SM gear (sized to fit or modified), she cannot be a space marine.
also mainly because the gene seed used to make Space Marines is from the Emperor and his sons, who are all male making it male DNA which obviously cannot bond with women to augment them
