Hi can we listen to the dmr frequencies privately and pick up the information at the same time in the same private frequency of this device such as the slot and the I'd number and the color code? Thank you
Only bad part is here in Colorado, ALL of the law enforcement agencies have gone to encryption systems on their radios. Most of the fire/rescue, and even public schools and transportation are all encrypted now. Cheers from Colorado
Nice unit however I am still questioning why in the 800MHz band they block out cellular? I know of the old law in the USA affecting scanners however this has become moot since the original analogue AMPS systems were phased out of service years ago. ( one of the original 1000 Moto cell repair techs in the USA. ALSO Mitsubishi, NEC, Audiovox, OKI, NOKIA ) does the E version firmware add this deleted band? A little tidbit, scanners are illegal in Greece. Seems law enforcement does not want no one listening in on their idle chit chat. As I told one district supervisor, if you want privacy just add encryption to your Kenwood radios, problem solved.
Hello Matt I saw you video on the TRX1 which I have a very good scanner I wanted to ask you a question about DMR . I’m based in Orpington Kent I have a roof mounted antenna and have programmed all the DMR repeaters with in 50 miles from my QTH . The only repeater I get is at Tring which is 43 miles from my QTH but I don’t get any other repeaters even my local ones at Caterham Hainault & Beckenham. Is this something you can help With look forward to hearing your feedback Paul in Kent
Hi Paul, thanks for the question and watching my video. If you’re getting the Tring DMR repeater than that shows your TRX1 is working and decoding correctly. There can only be two reasons for your issue, 1) the nearby repeaters are not being used when you’re scanning the DMR object, or the frequency is set incorrectly in the TRX. I would suggest to first check the frequencies stored in memory, make sure they match the nearby repeaters.
Hi on a direct frequency input of an airband frequency the radio will not detect AM mode if the signal is weak .The default setting looks like AUTO but I need it to be set on AM when I put in a direct frequency in , is there an easy way to select AM when putting in a direct frequency please . Many thanks for the video and information that you have posted .

In 2017 I purchased a Whistler TRX-1 scanner for the specific purpose of monitoring the Maricopa County Sheriffs department, which is a P25 system. I paid extra to have the scanner pre-programmed by Zip Scanners. I've contacted Zip Scanners and Whistler by email multiple times and have followed their detailed instructions on how to program my TRX-1 using the EZScan software. It's now 2022 and I have yet to be able to listen to the MCSO. I've owned scanners (mostly Bearcat or Uniden) since the 80s and have always manually programmed them without any difficulty or problems. Do you or anyone you may know have any suggestions on how I can properly program my SRX-1 so I can listen to the sheriffs department? Thank you.
@@Stoptherideiwanttogetoff if I’m not mistaken, yes. It should pick it up, but you’ll obviously just hear the static/nothing. However, I think some scanner (BCD436HP, SDS100/200, etc) all the modern day scanners can/or will automatically avoid the channel. I saw some vids where people can still pick them up, but where I’m from, there’s 100s of encrypted channels, and I’ve never picked up anything. Just non-encrypted ones. With radios, you can hear encrypted channels, although first off, you need to spend sometimes thousands of dollars, second of all, you need someone from the county or whoever programs the radios to enter the radio ID number to be able to monitor (which they will NOT do, unless you have very, very, very close connections, or you’re media).

Hi. New zealand has changed emergency radios to a digital network moving away from anolouge. Just wondering if trx1-e will pick up the new network? Thanks
Are they encrypting also? If yes, you will hear nothing. UK police went to Airwave about 18 years ago and have updated the system since. I don't think anyone has gained access to the network. I worked with the system for a couple of years and it was quite complex.

For VHF/UHF I use a dual band co-linear mounted on my chimney. It’s about 20 years old, can’t remember the make, but still performs well. Any of the modern day ham radio dual band co-linears will work well.
