So glad you enjoyed my home!! I was there this year for Carnival and saw you behind the truck!! Enjoyed the Vlog as usual. The A list is my favorite song right now too!
I would definitely go to St. Thomas for Carnival. I’m just looking to get out on da road☺️ for the first time this year. This looks like a good option for me next year❤
Loved the video! Here in St. Thomas for the first time and my birthday falls during the adults parade! Just wondering, did you go to all the events alone or did you have people you met up with? Like you walking in your costume was that with a troupe or just solo?
St. Thomas truly looks beautiful, I will surely add this location to my bucket List. Carnival Day choreography and theatre use to be a basic criteria to win band of the year in Trinidad carnival in the 90's and 2000's especially if you played with Peter Minshall or Brian Mac Farlane. Due to this youthful generation, the theatrical aspect of Carnival is slowly being phased out as what represents mass now is more marketable for tourism purposes. Thanks so much for this video, was truly interested in visited the USVI.
Thanks so much for watching Kevin and for dropping some knowledge! Wow I would have loved to play mas in T&T in that era - definitely think more traditional aspects need to be brought back. Would a band like K2K still have that choreography and theatre aspect? Again, thank you for watching the video
@@Bahamianista As a child in that era it was great to be in the stands of the QPS watching the display. It was like Brazil Carnival with semi-large floats. Could you image now asking Tribe, Yuma and or Rogue masqueraders to do choreography. Only Lost Tribe make a decent effort. I guess thats why they won this year.
I've been enjoying your vlogs..I'm a newbie to Carnival and hoping to play for the first time next year in Miami by myself. You've been giving great info and I'm definitely feeling more prepared 😊
awesome I'm glad it's helpful. I'm publishing an update to my Miami guides soon so definitely stay tuned for that. Which band are you playing with in Miami?
@@Bahamianista I can't make it this yr, unfortunately. But planning early for next. I really loved Savage. For plus size. I want to do Miami or Toronto as a first Carnival experience. To get my feet wet
Going to St. T carnival this year which brought me to this video. Just trying to understand transportation taxis there and where to stay central to easily get around
Hi there. Charlotte Amalie is the best area to stay because it's where they hold the main events in the carnival village - I stayed at the Pink Palm - taxis were readily available from the airport or you can ask hotel staff to recommend a driver. Where we stayed we literally could walk to restaurants shops and the Carnival village and other than that took rides to the start of the parade and jouvert.
You should have stayed longer in the village on Wednesday night 😅 you missed Asa Buntan and Triple K ... Jouvert warm up.... Wednesday is also Food Fair Day... I am glad you enjoyed 😊 our Carnival
Yup I saw the footage from Trini Jungle Juice lol definitely next time. Hopefully I'll come earlier for the Food Fair. Thanks for checking out the video
It’s so fun, seeing my island from other povs🥰🥰

Children Parade 🎉was what you saw. St Thomas USVI has a Children Parade on Friday and Adult Parade on Saturday ❤
So the girls on the cars was the entirety of Children's Parade? Do the kids play in costume too? We just saw the little girls in their gowns waving.
