For all those who are planning on following this... I recommend do NOT forget the vinegar. My shower curtain (fabric) always has about a foot of white powdery material (salts from the water) on the bottom when dry. I've washed in the machine dozens of times and that never gets removed. If you add vinegar, it will help remove those salt deposits.
Adding vinegar along with detergent neutralizes both the soap and the vinegar. I personally just use vinegar in most of my washes, but if you want to use both, id use detergent in the wash then spray it down with vinegar afterwards, like in the video. Hope this helps!

Vinegar should go into the fabric softner section so it can released during the rinse cycle. Vinegar is acidic and detergent is alkaline so they cancel eachother out and things don't get cleaned well
I cleaned the liner in my husband's bathroom recently. We have 2 bathrooms in our home. One thing I did do differently was, I left the cheap plastic shower curtain rings on it. I didn't even clamp them. They came out just as clean as the liner and the towels that I included. Thank you for your wonderful videos!

Vinegar doesn’t smell good. Some’n wrong with u if you think it does. Don’t spray that in your shower. No need to add a towel to your plastic liner in the washer. Vacuum or “dust” your bathmats outside and toss them in the washer (label permitting) with your liner. They’ll dry faster than a towel outside on the patio or clothes line.
I like my heavy duty plastic liner because I can easily cut a strip off the bottom, so it’s not touching the bottom of the tub. I can’t do that with the fabric ones. I’ve tried washing a plastic one in the washing machine before and I didn’t have good success. It didn’t come very clean.
As far as i know you should avoid putting vinegar on aluminium because they kind of react, especially at high temperatures. Can be better observed on espresso machines boiler when people try to "decalcify" them with vinegar. Might not be so harmful on washing machines, just thought i'd share

Ditching the plastic was the best thing I did. It's so much easier having the fabric liner and less mildew builds up.

I just don't use a liner. Buy a heavy duty fabric shower curtain. Use it alone. Wash it somewhat regularly. Problem solved.
I had a fabric one once. I followed the wash instructions, and then it no longer blocked water from getting on the floor 😅

Plastic liner is getting tossed in the trash. I get them from dollar tree so no loss. I'm going to try cloth next.
Shower liner is like couple bucks. I just change my out every couple months. Just like toilet brush. Not worth cleaning. Just toss and replace.
Best way to clean it is to throw it in the garbage and install glass shower doors
