Réalisé en 2009; (Between scientific rigor and artistic freedom) entre rigueur scientifique et liberté artistique, une ballade dans les rues de l'ancienne cité royaume de Babylone
Would love to see an explorable virtual open world environment like this experience, or even an open world RPG based in this time. So much untapped potential!
I don't blame you one bit. Please contact The Bushes, The Cheney's, Condasleeza Lyin' Rice, The Rumsfelds etc etc. Those lowlifes should be in jail for war crimes. They didn't care how they screwed up Iraq, or how many soldiers died. I'm so sorry the neocons got together to really fuck Iraq over and for that matter several thousand people in NY in 2001. If you believe Bin Laden and Kaleed Sheikh Mohammed in a cave got through American defenses for three fucking hours you people are dumber than I thought. And I AM NOT a conspiracy theorist check out what the neocons thought about maybe needing another Pearl Harbor to accomplish their goals!!!
@@olympus258 no, this is nowhere close to how they dressed at that time, these Arab dresses are just about a century old. plus the soldiers, and their dress seems like that of the Abbasid caliphate.
true and what you call arab dress is not arab it's saudi. but you need to know that amorites and chaldeans and akkadians all came from arabic peninsula not israel
Pretty neat although there are some pretty glaring mistakes with the various fusion of different architecture. I saw a lot of western influences statuary and a few Ionic columns where it probably shouldn't have been. Depending on when century, or millennium you're focusing on would have big differences in all that. I saw a lot of later Assyrian influences here...of course if you're showing the gates of Ishtar and the like then that means this is Chaldean so that would make sense. Anyway, good stuff!
really very good creation....i used this video for my student..they were amazed..! and they took everything i tought about babylon....thank you very much...!
If I may add to my previous comment concerning the costumes with all respect to this fine work of art that you got it wrong , the characters are dressed in Arabic clothing Arabs were not around at that time (1894-1595 B.C.E.) . If you do accurate research on the subject I am sure you will see my point . Thanks dear .
+MoviMakr It's hot and sandy, so loose, lightly colored clothes are a good idea. That clothing style has been around for a while. There are numerous etchings of people dressed like that dating back to the Assyrians. The Assyrians tended to add fringes and the like, but from what I've seen, the Babylonians stuck to the basics, at least for lower classes. Because embroidery and other embellishments are expensive. A plain white, or undyed, loose covering is a cost effective adaption to the heat.
Anthony Ridgway I can imagine that they wore light and loose-fitting clothing, but the civilians are literally dressed like modern day Saudis. It was clearly cheaper just to buy pre-existing models of people. We know relatively well what they wore in ancient Babylon, and it was closer to modern Iraqi dress than modern Saudi dress.
@@jokefar6686 Habibi Assyrians/Syrian and Chaldean are 1 big family. Why our history got twisted was because of that those living close to Greek used Greek those close to Iran used Persian. We are one with the same king and god but people (villages). Started to go after other countries.

It is very beautiful and amazing work, but as an architect from Iraq and specialist in ancient buildings let say there are many mistakes in this work. First of all, the usage of stone did not appear in Babylon, plus they did not use columns, beams and statues. and people in Babylon did not wear like this type of fashion.
Nice work, slot of detail. You must of spent hours putting this together. It's very good work only one problem though and I'm sure you know. Thank you!
In reality I did not understand the importance that people to go to give to this reconstruction. And the characters were there at the beginning only to give an idea of size of the 3D buildings. I notice my error today.
Merci Genesis.
People should focus on the artistic, technical and above all the patience and quality of the author, yes there is anachronism in this presentation that I am certain the author is well aware of, but please keep in mind this is not a history session, but just artistic and techie work. I give 2 thumbs up.
good technique, BIG mistakes, this is a civilization that actually existed you can't mess it up like this, for example, these modern gulf arabs were not in babylon at this time.
it's a technical problem, probably couldn't personalize the characters design since only few 3d Rendering softwares allow it. This is probably made using lumion or 3d max
Dear Gilles , this is really amazing work as a clip , but there is a lot of historical/ fashions massive mistakes, I wish if you can notice more that the clothes in this video is more (Islamic/Arabic) not Babylonian .. plus the sculptures and the Architecture .. best of luck .. thanks for sharing .

A lot of Achaemenid architecture from Susa and Persepolis. That is not contemporary with the Babylonian empire. And thus far there is no evidence of a Persian palace in Babylon from their rule

Or, you know... the "modern Saudi" look is basically just a loose robe and headdress in white/light colors. Really, you're waaay overthinking this.
Other than the clothing worn by the commoners, this reconstruction is so beautiful & well done!
