I am a list maker. Whenever I see two or more commands or actions, I number them with my Pigma Micron orange pen and circle the number next to each item within the verse, in my Bible. If I add a description or something seems noteworthy about the list, I then make a short note in the margin about the list. For me, I find this very helpful as it immediately draws my eye to something important, giving me the whole picture. And staying consistent with the orange color lets me know that it is indeed a list. After years of trial and error of marking up Bibles, I finally settled on a color code that makes sense to me. It took years and lots of messes in my old Bibles, but the mistakes I made finally brought me to a system that works well for me.
