It was really good. Here is a funny little tidbit from me. I nearly took Yoshi P's taxi on accident since 13 Cabs do online booking. So I got a acknowledgement nod from him as he left. XD
It was refreshing to see the normalcy around the developers; I was a little too tired to mention it in the recap, but Foxclon was around before the doors opened and I kinda regret not saying hi! A lot of bigger developers rarely come here to Australia, so they exist in this unreality until you actually see that they're just people. I remember having the same moments when I first moved to Melbourne, about Australian celebrities and politicians. That moment of 'oh hey, that guy I see on TV is just here on the street, and he's shorter than I thought'.
I appreciate all of your videos, but thank you especially for making this one. I know you're not typically an XIV "news channel" and this isn't technically "news" so much as it is a break down of an event, but there were a lot of interesting notes in here.
Great vid! I have to disagree with Yoshi P on the game not looking modern enough. Never once did the graphical fidelity matter to me in my MSQ journey. People would have been happier with viera and hrothgar hats lol.
I can see both sides of this one. On one hand I can point at Ultima Thule and happily say that this kind of art direction trumps any question of fidelity (as you can probably tell by my choice of footage there), but on the other hand I do distinctly remember times growing up when I struggled to sell people on games because they did, at a glance, look worse than their competitors. Viera and hrothgar hats are a thing that people already in the tank have strong feelings about, but if we look at the graphical update as being for the people who want to give it a shot, 'making the grass look good' is a higher priority.
