I completely agree with your opinion on this and appreciate you being candid about it. My dealer talked to me about the Lonestar Max but after running the numbers it just did not make sense. Plus, I did not want black and that is the only choice. Really love my Desert Tan Limited Max. Really enjoy your videos.
Have you had any issues with your canam defender limited. I hear problems with AC not being charged from the factory. The heat/AC dash controls go bad. Any other issues you may have had? Wanting to purchase one just looking for feedback before I buy.
We had one that needed more Freon in it then it came with from the factory. That was an easy fix. Other than that I’ve had zero issues but the longest I’ve had a defender is one with 1100 miles. So I can’t really give you a high mileage, personal opinion. With that being said, one of our Rangers had multiple issues, including the window mechanism, breaking as in what rolls the window up. I had to have it recharged with Freon. A sensor changed out that had to do with the overheating issue And the tailgate changed out. I think you’ll get different opinions from everyone but I don’t think there’s a manufacturer that makes a machine that’s perfect. I truly think they get better every year.
Have you watched all my other videos? If not they will help. Both machines are great. We prefer the defender because of the comfort. The 23 defender is a step above the ranger. The Rangers front differential is better. If you ride really gnarly trails, the Ranger will perform better and areas you have to have the front diff lock up quick.
I’ve watched all of your videos! I sold my 2018 defender cab to by the more updated but not thrilled on its getting bigger and no door locks. Mine was a crew with tracks and plow! Never had a ranger local dealer has a crew ultimate trail boss arriving any day while I have a lone star also showing up any day! Because the ranger remains under 80.5” that will fit in my garage at my cabin! Most of this area runs on Polaris rangers! They seem to be more sporty feeling to them and like there self leveling shocks and navigation! Is the new defenders that must of a change in ride from gen 1 defenders? And how was your experience with the rangers? Thanks Scott
@@scottbrulotte7905 for me I’d take the defender by a great margin. It’s cab has better visibility. It’s a bigger cab with much better seats. If you watched the last video with the 21 ranger it had small tires giving it a better turning radius. In the woods both with 30s would not differ much. Truly the only think better on a ranger ids the front differential. The new defenders are better riding and have better wheel travel. Ride command is cool but more of a want than necessity. Not to mention you can still buy a halo diff and still cost less than a trail boss. The 23 defender is truly a big step from a 22. Very noticeable once you drive it
@@americandream_89 Thanks for replying! Like I say I owned a 2018 max cab defender 72 hp. I liked it but it was missing the fun factor but I did love it! By the way I had a tonneau cover on mine I wouldn’t own one with out it! Makes your defender more refined and great to cover what your hauling! Never seen a single defender on TH-cam with one! Hint hint!!! On the Ranger side I like the front end on them, self leveling shocks, interior accent lighting, battery tender plugs, auto stop winch and remote! Power in the bed with bed light and easier oil changes! I hated the oil changes on the defender and I didn’t have AC! And I almost forgot I’m pissed at Can Am for the no door locks really is the reason I’m looking at the trail boss! When you did the turning radius I wish you measured it! The ranger is 13’ I’m curious what the defender is now too because I need tracks!
@@scottbrulotte7905 no problem buddy. You can’t go wrong either way. We enjoy both machines. Do you remember the name of the cover? I’ll check into those. We haul dogs 🐕 around so not sure if that would work. I’m not fully sure why they removed the door locks but I understand your frustration.
I think it's more of being used to them and then removing for no reason. I just like to have the peace of mind. Never been robbed or had one stole but it would help deter most.
@@americandream_89 we've had a few rangers and have had no issues. we just got the 2023 lonestar and the ac works for a few min then blows warm air. just was seeing if you had issues at all, thanks!

You are always honest man, I appreciate it.
Thanks for the tips!
Love your honesty.. I personally have no use for a stereo system in a sidexside
Honesty is best. We hardly ever rock out either. It’s hard with kids.

I gain nothing from dishonesty. It’s a sweet machine and I enjoy it. That desert tan is sweet

No problem glad it helped
And still no LED headlights correct? Thanks for the review. Been waiting for it.
Correct. Headlights are the same across the board. I think that’s one way they keep cost down currently. I’d prefer a factory LED.
@@americandream_89 I’d also prefer a factory installed LED lights as well.
What’s your opinion on defender vs ranger? Was a huge fan of the Norstar but have been hearing of some reliability quirks with Polaris.
