- Fanny Minesi, General Director of Friends of Bonobos of Congo, is the winner of the Tusk Award for Conservation in Africa 2023! This award goes to an individual judged to be an emerging conservation leader, in recognition of their outstanding contribution to conservation and considerable success shown in their chosen field.
The Tusk Conservation Awards, in partnership with Ninety One, honor the heroes of African conservation, and help tell their stories to the world.

beautifully said. the world needs more women like you. the bonobos ( babies & adults) along with your entire team are extremely lucky to have you in their corner fighting for them and the community. so many people dont know about bonobos and how close our DNAs are more alike than any other primate. there needs to be more world awareness about bonbos and how unique they truly are. much ❤ from Tennessee 🇺🇸
