OH MY GOODNESS GUYS THIS SHOW IS SO GOOD SO FAR I LOVE IT. As soon as it begins you're immersed. The acting, the lighting/shots, writing, storytelling, foreshadowing... ugh its all great. I'm so excited about all of the episodes to come, I'm so glad I listened to you guys! I haven't watched any trailers or really had any spoilers (other than he's blind) but I'm so glad I went in not knowing anything either. I'm so hyped after the first episodes I'm worried the others won't live up to it as well but we'll have to see!! Thank you guys, and I hope you'll join me on my Daredevil expedition Have a great day everyone!!!

The "incident" the real estate broker mentioned having driven down rent in Hells Kitchen is the destruction from the first Avengers movie.
Daredevil is very much about what happens in NYC AFTER the superheroes go home and regular people have to pick up the pieces.
In my opinion, Daredevil remains the very best Marvel ANYTHING ever made.
Best damn characters and acting from any crime drama or superhero anything.
But sadly daredevil is getting rebooted

In all likelyhood, it's going to be a fresh start that simply doesn't touch any plots from the Netflix seasons. Not all that different than a new creative team taking over a comic book and restarting with a new #1. It'll probably be a little bit lighter in tone and not as graphically violent.

In the opening scene of the show, you have the origin story on how daredevil became blind and got his powers... Also the chemicals that were spilled went to the gutter and then the sewers were they fell on 4 abandonned little turtles that became the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and that's canon !

18:18 Daredevil's superpower is that his other senses and balance are jacked up not to 11, but to 12! He does not really need the cane, he has sonar-like hearing, sense changes in heat to finer degree. He can sometimes read non-Braile documents by the changes in ink on a paper! the An weird example: he can count the exact number of grains of salt/sugar/sand/ etc. by touching or tasting!

Deborah Ann Woll is so incredibly talented, I hope they'll bring her back for the reboot she really deserves it.
Honestly, I'd love to see all the cast return. There's no weak links in terms of the cast. They all did a superb job with the series.
Unfortunately I don't think disney has the same minds at the probably going to reboot the series and completely forget that the netflix one ever existed. Because disney plus apparently has gone insane

This series has some of the most incredible fight scenes and one shots in cinema history. Combined with excellent storytelling, acting, writing and film work, you get some of the best Marvel and TV that's been made.
Daredevil is the living lie detector with five incredible sensibility and the most badass vigilante I've ever read in the comic. So happy you're enjoying the series and you are in for a treat. Can't wait to see your reaction on season 2 and 3!
Matt's father is a fighter and was fighting long before the accident that made him blind. Matt's used to seeing his dad beat up like that.
I would definitely watch this show again... It was the most underrated show of its time... Glad its finally getting the love and recognition it deserved...

The show, although getting massively acclaimed by audience and critics alike, was not bothered to be worked on, in lieu of ongoing "better" projects...
After Netflix contract ended neither Marvel, nor Disney renewed the season... (Even though the 4th season had been entirely worked out in scripts and the cast was more than willing to participate)...
Daredevil was my fav (and the only good one in terms of story and execution) Marvel show at the time...
So that's what I wanted to convey through "underrated"... 😉😄...
@@benjackson6260 It was shutdown because Disney announced it was going to start it's own streaming service and Netflix already saw the writing on the wall so they didn't want to boost future competitors show. It still was not an underrated show be a lot of people watched it and was upset when they didn't continue after season 3.
@@LarryBonson I know that... But the contract said (source : Wiki) that the characters from the show cannot be used for two years after the cancellation of the show... That was in 2018... Its 4 years now, and we are just recently getting daredevil entries in mainstream media...
Even taking the 2020 scenario in mind, there was absolutely no mention for any project of daredevil in Marvel's upcoming calendar year (before Covid struck)...
Only after the fan outburst of praise about the show's quality during the "stay at home period" did marvel president, Kevin feige approach Charlie Cox about reprising his role...
He immediately agreed and Kevin announced Daredevil's return to the mainstream...
But even after that, they still prioritized the planned shows, aka, moonknight, Hawkeye, falcon... But instead of these lazy additions, the fans would have adored a sequel to either Daredevil, or Punisher...
(Loki, Wanda Vison, and She hulk are awesome though)
They didn't let Daredevil come easily into the mainstream, cuz they wanted to absolutely make sure that the fanbase was strong for it... This is kinda like Apple... They only make additions of features if they see a really serious demand for it...
Daredevil episode 1 is just a masterpiece of a pilot for a show that's just gonna better and better as the series continues.
When I was a kid, I read comics, but never on the regular. When Frank Miller began his run on "Daredevil" in the early 80's, the character really came into his own, and I found myself looking forward to a new issue every month. This series borrows heavily from that era and it's another example of Marvel adapting their strongest material into live action. You're in for a fun ride.

You have to keep on watching! Daredevil is one of the BEST shows that has come out in recent years! The first season especially is phenomenal! But be ready for blood. A LOT of blood! This is not a show for the faint of heart.

When it's raining daredevil can see from the sound of the falling raindrops or from echoes of ambient sound, like sonar. When he lost his sight all his other senses increased due to the effect of the chemicals that blinded him

BTW: Charlie Cox (playing Matthew Daredevil Murdock) has a heavy British accent IRL but he still pulls an amazing American accent in his role.

I wasn’t familiar with Hugh Laurie much before House.
I knew his face from such films as Stuart Little and its sequel but he also plays an American in those.

I can’t even begin to say how amazing this show is. It might be my favorite of all the MCU properties, and comes very close to my favorite show of all time. The casting, the performances, the action sequences…it’s insane how well this is done. Episode 2 set the bar for action scenes from then till now. Enjoy!!!

Fun fact: New York city tap water is some of the cleanest in the country. It's literally spring water. If the pipes in your building are good, you get spring water.
So glad you are getting into Daredevil, Vicky! It was such a damned shame that Netflix 86'ed this show. Really good cast (Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Vincent D'Onofrio, Elden Henson), amazing action, and they did their best to try to keep to the source material.

If you've not worked it out yet.. daredevil has super senses.. he can hear a heartbeat from across the street and sense all kinds of changes in the air amongst so many other abilities.
Oh man, the first two seasons of DD, and the first season of Jessica Jones, were some phenomenal work! I'm glad you're going back and looking into a series that deserves more attention!

Daredevil. Is hands down THE BEST part of the MCU. This was originally separate sort of but always a part of it. And these storyline arcs are phenomenally done. They're right outta the Frank miller stories in the graphic novels.....
So glad to see you react to this series, when I discovered it I binged watched two seasons and stayed up all night! Like you I could not believe how good it was. Will be waiting for each upload you do this.

Yes, he had a family... but when a woman from another department asks you to meet after work, and you're in the legal department, and she seems concerned about something, from a legal standpoint, she may be approaching you _as_ legal to find out what to do, so you have a bit of an obligation. Discounting the legal department element, a coworker seems concerned or upset about something and they've come to you, someone they don't really know, but it seems they trust you, you have a moral obligation. If you're a decent human being who isn't in the middle of a whirlwind of problems of your own, but you do have the option of saying no, or postponing, "can we do that tomorrow?" And Gauging the reaction.
Matt demonstrates how he reads people and situations. "Wouldn't the sender have it?" Is not the issue. The issue is someone who _shouldn't_ have it does. It's literally classic money laundering/trafficking. How to make illegal money legal, and her having it makes her a threat. Kill her and you don't know where the info went, discredit her, frame her for killing a one night stand and she hangs herself in her cell, it becomes a non-news issue.
I am elated to see you reacting to the Daredevil series. You will love every season. You will also see why people are excited he was finally integrated fully into the MCU.

Daredevil, an absolute crown jewel of a show of the Netflix MCU. Matt Murdock, a lawyer blinded by chemicals as a child, but by night he is the vigilante Daredevil, the Devil of Hell's Kitchen. Daredevil is a unique character given his attempt to balance two lives, as well as his catholic faith
Fun Fact: for a while Daredevil shared a universe with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the chemicals that blinded Matt were the same thing that mutated the turtles, they also had similar-named villain groups; the Hand, and the Foot Clan.
First place I remember seeing Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page) was in the series True Blood (2008).

oh my God girl, yoy have no idea what you've jumped into lol. these Netflix shows are beautifully shot and the acting is just *chefs kiss*. these are the gritty side to the MCU and they are sooooo good. idc what anyone says, i love all the Defenders
DD was marvel's best show. I don't care if it's no longer cannon. That's one show that really stood out amongst the rest. Charlie Cox is a tremendously talented actor. One of the top tier of his generation. I love everything about this show.

Rain is Daredevil's element! He can sense things better when it rains.
don't skip defenders even if you don't watch the other netflix-marvel shows besides dd. it's quite integral to season 3.
Jus a heads up with this show - you're in for a wild (and *brutal*) ride!
Vincent D'Onofrio is wicked good in this series, and it's really good overall.
One warning, Season 3 picks up after The Defenders, sort of how Iron Man 3 and Winter Soldier pick up after Avengers. You kind of need to see Defenders before Season 3.
Key things to remember about Matt/Daredevil:
1) Yes he's blind, but his other senses (hearing, smell, touch, taste) have been heightened far beyond normal human level, allowing him to percieve things about his environment that regular people can't. While blind people in general often have trained their senses to a much higher degree than normal, Matt is far beyond even that.
2) The same radioactive chemicals that blinded him as a kid, are what elevated his senses to superhuman levels. And it's a bit of fun comic boook triva that those same chemicals leaked into the sewer and created the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
3) Physically Matt is otherwise normal- he doesn't have superhuman strength, speed etc like Captain America, Bucky or Black Panther. He's more like Batman- a normal human in peak physical condition who's an extremely skilled fighter. And his superhuman senses give him a big advantage in fights. He can't break out of a jail cell by bending the bars or punching through a wall, but his hearing and touch are so sensitive that he could easily pick locks, or sense what numbers have been used on a security pad.
4) His father was a boxer, so Matt learned resilience/toughness from him (along with how to stitch up cuts)
There’s a reason why Daredevil is the one Netflix/MCU character they’ve already embraced. (I have hopes for Jessica Jones, but there’s nothing on her yet.)
There are so many great actors involved with this series. Not just the main cast, though they are great, but even the minor roles have some great people, some of whom you might recognize: Rosario Dawson, Lesley Ann Warren, Joanne Whalley, Scott Glenn, Clancy Brown, Annabella Sciorra, Carrie-Anne Moss, William Forsythe, Meredith Salenger…the talent pool on the show is *deep*.
Now you know why people suffer "She-Hulk" to get a glimpse of Matt again, or why your theaters were so loud when he showed up in "No Way Home"!
It would be so cool if every MCU show were made with the same effort and love that was put in Daredevil.
Fun little nerd fact: In the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle graphic novels (before they were a phenomenon), the same toxic chemicals that get in his eyes are on the same truck as the chemicals that mutate the turtles. It's never been a connected Marvel lore thing, but more of a nod to Daredevil. They were both born on the same day.
Daredevil aka the man with no fear. His powers are essentially he has heightened senses because if the chemicals that made him blind.
Daredevil is the greatest superhero show ever made.
It helps to be a comic nerd; but you’ll still understand Kingpin when you meet him.

This might be the best live action Marvel project of the modern age. A strong argument can be made that it is.

The guy playing Matt Murdock/Daredevil is Charlie Cox. He was also in the movie Stardust. Guy's a great actor.
Also, Wesley, the younger guy in glasses that showed the guard his daughter, was in John Wick.

Also, Quake from Agents of SHIELD has a Daredevil connection, but that may be a spoiler for stuff from Matt's childhood that the show gets to later. I love the MCU.

It's a really well made show. They did justice to Daredevil for sure.
Just one little important info before you continue: Daredevil does have super powers. All his other senses are enhanced to a superhuman level. Other than that though, he doesn't have any other superpowers. He's normal guy who trains a lot. You can see him get exhausted in fights It's great. And it's also great how they show his super-senses throughout the show.

Charlie cox is perfectly casted as this character...wasn't a big daredevil fan growing up but after seeing his portrayal he is now one of my favs so glad he's back...the series is phenomenal

Keep watching. All of Matt Murdock's senses are enhanced to the point where he could feel the movements of the knife by the way it disturbed the flow of air and rain.

What's wrong with New York tap water? I had a friend who would not shut up about how great the New York tap water is compared to the lowly mineral rain water from the Crystal Springs reservoir she had to endure.
Till this day still fav original Netflix show and superhero series. The Disney reboot won't be as top notch but I'm still gonna enjoy it thanks to Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio coming back

Kevin Feige has made the statement that Charlie Cox IS Daredevil, which is why Matt Murdock appears in "Spiderman: No Way Home," and the "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" series on Disney+ (another prominent actor from the Netflix series also reprises his character on Disney+ as well, but no spoilers). I enjoyed the Netflix series, though I was unhappy with a couple of the directorial decisions and I am looking forward to seeing what will happen with "Daredevil Reborn" in the MCU.
Per se is fantastic. Been four times. And I don' t even live in the North-East. The chef community is fantastic for getting into restaurants that are difficult to get into.

Ok so they aren't ACTUALLY new lawyers. Graduated law school then did their associates years at a large law firm, but instead of becoming junior partners they started their own law firm in hells kitchen.
(Kinda like a doctor doing residency at a hospital then opening a small free clinic in an area where people can't afford to go to the doctor)
