I know what you are saying about the rain. A buddy and I took 2 canoes for a 2 week 80 to 90 mile paddle in the Everglades National Park Wilderness Waterway. It rained constantly for 11& 1/2 days of the 12 day trip. The 1/2 day it did not rain we were wishing it would , the early part of June many years ago.
That was a serious hike. I'm very familiar with that coastal saw grass; stuff is wicked. The homeless camps full of trash will continue to become even more of a problem moving forward.
It's such a gamble going out during the rain. The moment it stops just for a second. The mosquitoes and other biting insects come out 3 fold. For get the lighting and thunder. Those mosquitoes will erase you after it rains.
