The development of winneba has nothing to do with JB Danquah, he was on the opposite side of history when Dr. Nkrumah acquired the land to build the then Nkrumah Institute of Ideology which later became the advanced teacher training school and now University of education south campus danquah objected to it. Dr. Nkrumah and JB were not friends. Danquah tried many assassination attempts on his life which led to Danquah’s imprisonment in Nsawam. He and the UP tradition objected to Ghana’s independence by sending dr. Busia to the queen of England to deny Nkrumah’s request for Ghana. Again, JB Danquah sent a delegation to the USA congress deny Nkrumah’s request for a loan/ Kaiser to build the akosombo dam. And to crown it all, master minded Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s overthrown. What a convenient for the NPP to share Osagyefo’s glory.
I think the guide's explanation was clear. JB Danquah was in the picture because he was the lawyer for the Effutu. Hence, he contributed to issues bordering on their social and political well-being, among which was introducing Nkrumah to them.
