This is by far the best YT channel I've seen regarding Air Purifiers! I've decided to go with this over others of this price range. Thanks for the great videos!
I have one of this, can confirm it is silent even at High fan speed (Turbo gets a bit loud but nothing unbearable), especially compared to a Mi purifier, which sounds like a jet engine.
Hey friend! Do you still have this device? Can you tell me the behavior when you cut the power and then restore power to it? Does it turn back on or do you have to press the on button??
If the Mi purifier has a more powerful filtration, I would so get that one. I also need smart WiFi remote access. Which Mi model has that "jet engine" ?
Bought this on Amazon last night and received it this morning. It is very sleek and sturdy. You cannot hear it at all which I love. I bought this for my dog who has very itchy and I have to take her to the vet every 6 weeks for an allergy shot. Hope this helps to relieve some of her itchiness. We'll see. Edit: I really did my homework on air purifiers and this fit my budget and needs.
Levoit is a fantastic brand. I made the mistake of getting their Vital 100 model for a much larger space than it is rated to cover. I have an open floor plan and 12 ft high ceilings. I've heard very good things about the Core 400S.
@@jenicemckenzie7164 All you really need to look for in an air purifier is a TRUE HEPA (not just HEPA, or HEPA type) filter. You do not really need plasma/ion, ultraviolet light, or any other special features that just make the machines more expensive. A washable prefilter is nice, and a carbon filter will help to reduce odors. You can't go wrong with any of the Levoit purifiers, but just be sure you get a big enough one for your space. I think the Plasma Pro 400s would be a great pick, and you can always just turn off the plasma/ion feature. I leave that feature turned off on my Alen purifier.
These air cleaners do reduce dust. Well, Ive been using Honeywell Power Series for a few years. I like Honeywell. I bought the Levoit one here so I can use the smart feature to turn them on/off in multiple areas. Honeywell has a turbo mode I love. I press turbo while cleaning to suction airborne dust into the filter. I can easily vacuum the dust off of the front black pre-filter on the Honeywell air cleaner. Now I ought to unbox the Levoit air cleaner to test and compare. I have to say again, the Honeywell Power Series air purifier has been a solid performer. Ive had them running constantly for at least 3 years with zero issues. They're so fast to clean. Pop front screen off, vacuum, pop screen back on. Done. Change black pre-filter every 3-ish months (easy), and change HEPA filter, I think every 6 or 12 months. The unit has a timer, and the red change light on top will tell you. Very easy. No major disassembly. They just lack a smart feature so I cannot remotely turn them off/on like this Levoit Plasma Pro 400S. But, if I were to advise Honeywell, I would tell them to please don't mess up their already good design on the Power Series air purifiers. They could minimalist simple add some type of smart feature to switch it on/off remotely, and add a simple app to monitor. But change nothing else, because it works so well! Ok, let me unbox my Levoit now to compare.
If you’ve never used an air filter these are great. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx_dppjvjF8BYEmPSDTcgCUdRsgWYLXNHN I ended up with three after starting out with one. The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!
Thanks for the review! Was waiting for this one and debating whether to get this or the coway 15122? Some notes to maybe improve your reviews: #1. Since this has a smart sensor, would be great to show comparison of the accuracy of it to an air quality monitor device. #2. Realistically no one will use turbo mode for long periods of time (due to noise), so how well does this device clean on manual mode when it's on 1 step or 2 steps below the max speed? #3. Comments compared to other air purifiers in the same range (price, area coverage, cadr rating, etc)?
Hi, for a 280 sqft bedroom do you recommend the 400s or the 300s? I'm getting this mainly for the dust particles in the air, don't care about smoke. I know the 300s size says for 200sqft , but I was wondering if 280 sqft is okay too, if not then I would have to get the 400s. At night, when sleeping, I would prefer to use night-time speed or even speed 1, would your recommend the 300s or 400s for that?
Please could you review the Levoit Core 300s and the Levoit PUR131s? They seem very similar in spec, just have a different shape. Which would you recommend from those two choices? Thanks!
Hello! I have a question. My room is quite small ~ 100 feet square, because of that I want something with lower noise. I can t decide between levoit 300s and 400s. I was thinking to buy levoit 400S and leave it on speed 1. I think should be enough. which model should I choose between these two?
Great video! It seems Levoit has removed the TrueHepa claim from their website and marketing, there is a Reddit thread about it. Can we confirm that they use a TrueHepa filter for the 400s?
I received the levoit 600s yesterday and i test it out in a bedroom maybe 250ft2 to 300ft2 and had it on sleep mood it was very quite and I definitely can feel and smell the clean air across the room and I have my coway 300s in the living room also on sleep mood , I woke up 4am felt like I have dry through and nose and I immediately turned it off both unit and my wife in the morning says same thing. So I’m wondering is that normal feelings since we’re first time using a purifier so my question is maybe it’s because a big purifier shouldn’t be left in a small room ? I live in apartment 900ft2 should 1 levoit 600s be enough for the whole apartment? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! 🙌🏼
That’s mean the air is already dry, having a running air purifier can make it feel worse because the carbon filter will reduce the humidity a little bit, I advise to run a humidifier at the levels you feel comfortable
Hello mate. What would you recommend between the Levoit Core 400S and the Xiaomi Purifier 4 Pro. Xiaomi stands out in by having ionizing tech, a larger motor, allegedly longer filter life (debatable of course) and being a bit quieter (or that's what I've read). Price range very similar. Awaiting your input.
Can i put this next to a wall/end of the counter? Or due to the round shape, its not recommend? Was looking at the Levoit 200S as it might be better agaist a wall/counter.🤔
I always knew that the part in the video where I explained how to set up the device before the first start was important and that it would definitely be useful to someone. I'm glad you've removed the plastic protection from the filter.
Thanks for the detailed review, i ordered one because of this! Could you describe though how big of a difference there was in pm2.5 between your handheld device and the filter sensor?
So many purifiers BUT which one of these will help remove and possibly kill mould spores. I dont have mould at home anymore but it has become airborne, always feeling shortness of breath at home only
All of them, because every air purifier nowadays comes with triple layer filters in one (pre-filter, HEPA filter which decreases mold spores in your case, and activated carbon filter).
Hi, I would like to know your opinion on the best air purifier for a room of more or less 30m2 with a lot of wood: Xiaomi Pro H or Levoit 400S? One of my focuses is getting odor out of the room and fresh air.
There are some differences, the Levoit’s air quality sensor is not as accurate as this one I use for testing. But, you can change the sensitivity of the Levoit sensor and in that way play with its accuracy.
Thanks for the detailed review, will be subscribing. As you may know, there exists the PlasmaPro 400s. Would you say the ionizer is the only key difference between the two? Also, between this model and the Winix AM90, which one would you say has a better performance in terms of capturing viruses when placed in mid size rooms? Thank you for the time.
I had the AM90 and it produced a subtle high pitched whining sound from the motor which was pretty annoying on speeds 3 or 4, and since you want to run that on 3 usually, I ended up returning it. Ordered the coway mighty now and waiting to receive. Note: I like my Winix 5500-2 also which has a less annoying whine sound than the AM90 did, though the AM90 was a much nicer looking design IMO.
I just bought one of these today. When scrolling through their questions and answers page, I’ve came across ionizer and ozone gas release information. I was not aware of these elements until I did some research. Ozone can harm respiratory functions… I would like to use this on a new born baby’s room. I am looking for thoughts on this or more insight- its very confusing and strange . I would appreciate it !
The Levoit Core 400S is a mechanical air purifier that produces no ozone. But, a while ago, Levoit released the PlasmaPro™ 400S, which looks the same as the Levoit Core 400S, but with one difference, an ionizer built-in. The thing is that the PlasmaPro™ 400S produces ozone but in allowed amounts, which is confirmed by CARB (California Air Resource Board).
I had purchased Winix air purifier around an year back which had ionizer. I had the same concerns as yours with its affect on a new born. I returned it. I got Levoit 300 which says that it does not produce ozone. So far 400 also looks the same.
@@vishalwaghmare9523 great choice! I ended up returning it and also got the Levoit Core 300 as well. So far is going great. I wish it would tell me what kind of particles were discovered! Cheers
Hello, I would like to buy an effective air purifier for my small room which is 30m2. I am stuck in between Levoit Core 200s and Levoit Core 400s. Which one would you recommend?
So do the 300s, 400s, and 600s all perform about the same and just different sized for bigger spaces? I have the 300s in my bed room and was thinking of getting the 400s or 600s for my living room. Plus they are Prime Day specials right now.
I don't see why getting the core 300s when it's not that much of a difference in price versus 400s (with discounts), plus you can enjoy same purification level in lower speed mode which translates to lower noise in smaller rooms. I'd personally go with 400s. As for 600s, many people reporting it's noisier, and with its higher price makes me not recommending it.
@@branpxch I like the 300s and works very well for my bed room, but like MAFz777 said, for just a few more dollars the 400s does a larger room so that's what I went with for my living room. In fact, got my delivery notification a little while ago so its waiting for me at home 🙂
The Core 400S has a larger filter and huger airflow and is a better buying option than the Core 300S. I don't know how good is the Core 600S as I haven't tested it yet. But I bought it yesterday and should publish a review in the following months!
Didn't compare this one with the Xiaomi Mi 3H, but I will do it. I like the possibility of setting the sensitivity of the Core 400S's Auto Mode. I like its performance, noise, power consumption, and believe it can beat Xiaomi easily.
I need TURBO power HEPA filtration and smart remote access of the control panel to on/off from a completely different room. If it has this, I want one like now!
I personally don't use/test humidifiers but have used Xiaomi's one last year. It's done very well in optimizing humidity in my place during the winter.
@@AirPurifierFirst Oh, I asked because I visited your website (that looks good btw) and saw you recommending air purifier & humidifier combos. What model is the Xiaomi one? I have a pretty small bedroom. I plan on putting the 400s on the low speed.
Hi, thanks for your kind words. Hmm, I like the Levoit Core 400S, it would be great for a medium-sized room. For a small room, I would go with a Levoit Core 300S.
I haven’t tested those Dysons, but I have compared the Levoit Core 400S and the Dyson TP02, and I would definitely choose the Levoit, considering it offers a better price, lower maintenance costs, good filter prices, a better carbon filter, and larger airflow.
I have 14 sq meters bedroom. Is it too much to use 400s? or I should get the lower version. I am looking for higher CADR. My concern is I have a kid and he sometimes get sick. Should I use the low fan speed
I believe you misspelled the bedroom size and wrote 14 instead of 140 sq. ft. In that case, the Core 400S is too large, but you can buy it and use it at lower speeds, or you can consider the Core 200S, Core 300S, or other smaller air purifiers from Levoit. These air purifiers are 100% ozone-free and safe to use but keep them away from the head when sleeping to avoid getting cold.
@@AirPurifierFirst Just a note, she mentioned her bedroom size in 'meters'. 14sqm = 150sqft And I agree about getting bigger purifier like the 400S and lowering fan speed in smaller rooms to enjoy clean air with minimal fan noise (which in her case would be speed mode 2, it can purfiy that room size up to 5 ACH).
I don’t want to purchase the Core 400s if leaving only 12 inches of space on all sides won’t work. I’m hoping that it may only result in taking a little longer to purify the room. Please confirm. Thank you.
will you be doing a review on the core 600s? it's on sale right now. Curious how it fares against the blue 211+ since they have almost similar airflow rate (m3/h)
Recently I have bought the Levoit Core 200s and LV-H134, so those two will be the next Levoit air purifiers that I will review. Anyway, thanks for your suggestion, I will definitely consider doing a review of the Levoit Core 600S.
@@AirPurifierFirst Hmm core 200s will be interesting compared to blueair 411+. IMO the LV-h134 is not worth reviewing. Just looking at the specs, core 600s is cheaper, more updated model, and has better CADR/room coverage.
I agree with you, the thing is that I got the LV-H134 for a very good price. Anyway, my goal is to do as many reviews as I can, so the Levoit Core 600S will be on the list for review, without a doubt.
This one vs Coway Airmega AP-1512HH? I'm looking at both, and both are the same price. Seems like this one has more tech features and better warranty, but I'd love to hear your opinion!
Actually, Coway offers a 3-year warranty, while Levoit offers a 2-year warranty. Other than that, Levoit covers slightly larger spaces, has more features, and can be controlled through the VeSync app. I will definitely do an in-depth comparison of these two. Thanks!
I'm looking to get one and this seems like one of the quietest. I am mostly interested in the low noise at night but I heard that some still have some "buzz" from the motor, not necessarily the fan. Is this true? Did you hear any kind of sounds? Also, how can Levoit claim in their product page a noise of 24 dB but your readings are much higher? Awesome videos btw.
Good day.. New subscriber here from the Philippines.. Love your videos and reviews.. But just wanna ask suggestion from you, what should budget Air purifier should i buy for small room?
I had a pro H it’s real good the only thing is the filters is hard to get in the states and the vendors that sell them charge so much but the machine works great
@@MrFranchise82 Thank you very much for the info! I mostly wanted to know if it is tolerable at night, because it will be placed inside a small bedroom.
So I just got mine. First impressions - bad. I had sprayed a parfume right at the air sensor. For some reason the PM indicator increased a bit but in auto mode it did not turned up the fan speed. Next, I put a smoking piece of paper next to it. The PM jumped at once to maximum but in auto mode, it did not turned up the fan speed to maximum, I had to manually select the 4th speed. I suspect that with that these air sensores are indeed of pure accuracy and one should not use auto mode but select one constant fan speed at all times. What is also inaccurate is the PM 2.5 level of 50 at which the device turns on the speed if in auto mode. The general standard is
You shoukd verbally state the negatives as many people will just listen and not even notice. This sounded more like an paid advertisement than an actual review. I also noticed you mentioned price of electricity which is going to vary wildly but didnt even mention the price of the actual unit nor even compared it to any similar purifier.
This review was useless to me. You rushed through how to lift the black piece off as if by magic. Mine won't come off. DIagram indicates to unscrew it but it won't turn.

I don't know how good is the Core 600S as I haven't tested it yet. But I bought it yesterday and should publish a review in the following months!
I have one and it got rid of the ferret smell very quickly.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
How does Levoit compared in performance / efficiency vs. Xiaomi 3H ? Thanks, love your channel , very informative
Hello. Will it purify a two floor house if left only on the downstairs floor??
No…. You need to move it round. Hence designed with carrying handles.
Hey! Just purchased it. What humidifier would be good with it?
I personally don't use/test humidifiers but have used Xiaomi's one last year. It's done very well in optimizing humidity in my place during the winter.
@@AirPurifierFirst
Oh, I asked because I visited your website (that looks good btw) and saw you recommending air purifier & humidifier combos.
What model is the Xiaomi one? I have a pretty small bedroom. I plan on putting the 400s on the low speed.
Can I use it in a small room?
Why my device always display number of PM 2.5 is “1” after 1 hour (filtered). Any problems? Why it can’t back to 0?
Did you record the video with a VGA camera from the 2000s? The image is shaking is poor.
What’s a good budget smart air purifier?
P.S. Your a very underrated TH-camr
Hi, thanks for your kind words.
Hmm, I like the Levoit Core 400S, it would be great for a medium-sized room. For a small room, I would go with a Levoit Core 300S.
The best purifier reviews by far! thx for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the kind words.
Why can't I connect my Levoit 400 to Alexa ? I heard that Amazon disabled this process
How do I get the top off? There is no handle or anything to grab on to.
i’m interested but is filter washable for this model? Thanks
No, it doesn't. This one needs to be changed about once per year.
Is this better than say Dyson HP09, TP07 etc?
@@AirPurifierFirst
Just a note, she mentioned her bedroom size in 'meters'.
14sqm = 150sqft
And I agree about getting bigger purifier like the 400S and lowering fan speed in smaller rooms to enjoy clean air with minimal fan noise (which in her case would be speed mode 2, it can purfiy that room size up to 5 ACH).
Is it OK if I can place the Core 400S only 12 feet away from anything on all sides? I don't have enough space in my room for 15 feet.
I believe that would be okay!
Sorry, but I meant 12 inches🤣
I understood 😂
Another thing - if you’re concerned about ozone - blue air produces ozone!
would you consider reviewing some iqair or austin devices?
Those are very expensive, but I will do my best to consider reviewing them. Thanks for your suggestion.
What do you think about the levoit core 300s?
I believe it's as good as the Core 300, but with some smart additions.
May i use it in auto mode when i sleep?
Of course!
Xiaomi mi 4 pro Levoit 400s hangisini önerirsiniz?
I haven't tested the Xiaomi 4 Pro, but I plan to test it, after which I will compare it with the Levoit Core 400S.
Is it loud? I like to keep mine on medium.
It's not too loud, as you can see in the noise test at 7:25.
Thanks!
@@AirPurifierFirst Thanks!
Would you buy this Levoit core 400 or the Hoover 500?
I would prefer Levoit, mostly because I haven't tested the Hoover 500.
I just bought the 600s . It is very loud . Did they update the sound ? I love it otherwise .. but it's very loud and scares my cat
I saw a few comments on the internet saying the same. I can't tell you more unless I test it. The Core 400S produces not too loud sound.
Hmm, I think the Levoit Core 300S could be the one.
Review xiaomi air purifier 4 lite pleaseee
Thanks for your suggestion!
Does it work with 5Ghz wifi?
No, it doesn't.
Why does this video say the filter can last a year but mine only lasted 4 months before saying I needed a new one?
Hmm, maybe it is some glitch. Just reset the filter reset indicator and continue using the air purifier (if the filter is not too dirty).
Do you regularly clean the filter every month?
Awesome job! Can you please review the Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier Pro H?
I will consider reviewing it. Thanks for your suggestion!
Can you test the b-mola I'm 100 please.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Why is my #666 or #999 and the circled lights around it are red
It's because the air in your place is over-polluted.
The general standard is
Does this emits ozone?
No, it doesn't.
Not 15 centimeters! You mean 15 inches.
I have one, filter life % go down day by day even the plastic cover for the filter still not remove yet. So, do they liar???
it's because thw filter alert is kust based on time. it doesn't detect the actual filter ofcourse, nothing does.
There is no engine…: it’s an electric motor. These are never referred to as engines!
