- In this video, we went over some facts about pollination and how pollination works to form fruit from the flower. We also explained how we can hand pollinate our gourds, if depending on bees or butterflies is not an option.
At the end of the video we harvested a Bottle Gourd that was grown with hand pollination and made a yummy dish.

usual ga pollination avvakapothe, female flowers will turn yellow, brown and then fall off. Male flowers stay fresh and open up for a day then turn brown and fall off. Meeru hand pollination chesara? both male and female flowers okesari plant medha vunnaya?

kakarkaya is self polinated.. no need to hand pollinate..
Hi, thanks for the info. As far as I know bitter gourds need the pollination as they have male and female flowers. As I mentioned in the video, if we have enough bees we don’t need to hand pollinate. But, the pollination is required for the fruit to form.
