This is great info to share, Laura! I'm needing to learn how to do an easy spreadsheet for income/expense report on an investment property and I think just by watching this, I might be able to develop one! Thanks for the tips and demo!
Omg so helpful. Trying to be better with my loss/profit this year and this is everything. Thank you instantly subscribe and excited to make me one. Eekkk thank you thank you❤
Nice.. I will try this because its nice and simple. I needed to learn how to do a spreadsheet. I need this for my natural health and beauty business. Thanks!
not an excel whiz either lol but instead of clicking each cell and the plus sign, you can do =SUM(__:__) so in the example, it would be =SUM(D3:G3). you can also just click and highlight the cells you want to add up.
Quick question, where you have item shipping cost (that's what the customer pays so that you can ship their item) $5.95, so if you shipped it for $5. Wouldn't your formula be Vinyl cost+Item cost+ Item shipping cost - did I ship it? So $0+$4.26+$5.95-$5=Total?
Very helpful thank you. If you find a better system please make a new video. this is the best system for my needs so far. althought when i am bigger not sure if theres a better way to capture this info. Thanks Laura xoxo
Awesome Resource! Thank you so much. I do have a couple of questions I may answer myself as I bounce off. Here I go: First, say you have to resend and order because it was wrong. You will have new cost for item and shipping. How do you calculate that in the your excel? And most important how are you calculating taxes and would that not be included in this spreadsheet? To get a total of it at end of month as you did the sale price? I thank you for your response. I just don't know how to go about the taxes and how to keep track of what I am accountable to the IRS. Any guidance with that would be much appreciate.
How do you calculate tax sales for people that sells in fair craft when selling on cash. How to do that to avoid complicating the handle the cash change. Example: 1 item price is $20, then it will be 20x7.75(tax sale) in California? So, I want the items price to be $1, $5, $10, $15, $20, $25, $30 to make easier to do the changes. If I add the tax sales, then it will be complicate for the changes. if item is $20
Why is there two shipping charges is one what you paid to have the shirts shipped and also what is the item cost is that what you payed for the shirt or is that what they payed you and also i just bought some vinyl from amazon it was like 20 for so many sheets I would just put the cost of one sheet if that's all i use but how would i figure out the cost of one or two sheets also I am just trying to start a business how do you add taxes to items or do you and how do you put it in excel. Also, I sell knit and crochet items would i would make a separate sheet for that
Sarah Moore you’re welcome!! Oh man, it’s so different for my SIL stuff. Most don’t know but my real job is that I’m a personal trainer. I run my own business and do this little thing as a side hustle 😱😂. So all that I know and have learned is thru my CPA for my Training business. Perhaps I should post some workouts some day and teach you all something a little different 😂😂😂
Little Lights by Laura: Silhouette Tutorials that would be awesome you should definitely do that. your videos are great and so informative very easy to understand and follow
Great video! I am going to start using this! Question, in the “item shipping cost” tab is that how much the items where shipped for if you ordered online? If it was purchased in store it would be a $0 correct?
I must be dead head right now, I can't figure out your "cost for shipping" and your "did i ship". Why are they different cost points? If the cost for shipping g is $5.95 than shouldn't the "did i ship" also be $5.95 is you shipped? What is my dense brain missing? Other than that I am loving the thought of how you did this!😊
I was initially thinking maybe it was what they charge for p&p and what the postage costs them, but then I was confused again when all those columns were added together...Did that mean the postage cost over $10? Very confused.
Tai's I thought I explained it in the video 🤦🏼♀️🙈. One is for if I paid for shipping on the item I purchased and one is if I needed to charge the customer shipping. Sometimes I’ll buy a T-shirt or tumbler locally and not online thus not requiring shipping. Other times I need to order online and customers price may need to reflect that additional cost. Does that make more sense?
@@littlelightsbylaura It may be confusing to others at first glance, what I do is use "shipping" when I purchase it and "delivery fee/self collection" when I sell it.
It’s just as she runs a clothing brand so Vinyl is something she puts on the clothes. It’s just an extra cost such as shipping . It won’t apply to you if you don’t sell vinyl printed clothes

Maricela Perez honestly it’s mostly my notes that’s help me. But typically it’s my cost + shipping

Taxes you definitely want to keep track off. You could always add more columns to track your resent orders, shipping and tax.

I'm wondering the same. And now it's charged $10.95 shipping so the profit should be more. Is there a reason for this?

hi. what does vinyl cost mean?
U can check on google
Thank you so much
you should still put the price for the vinyl in. you are still spending money on the vinyl.
Michael Rios I add them in my personal preset prices 😍
Valuable info
My question base on the total of january, so the total sales could be not the total profit, sales does not truly means profit.
Correct!! You have to factor in expenses
