We have done a detailed first ride review of the newly launched Mahindra XUV 700 BS6.
Variants:
The Mahindra XUV700 is offered in two variant options; MX and AX Series. While both series’ get petrol and diesel powertrain options, the MX only gets a manual box. The AX Series, on the other hand, is available in three trims - AX3, AX, and AX7. Setting the AX apart though is its availability in both manual and automatic transmissions, along with an AWD option for the top-end automatic version.

Engine and specifications:
The MX Series is available with either a 195bhp/380Nm 2.0-litre Turbo GDi mStallion petrol engine or a 153bhp/360Nm 2.2-litre Commonrail Turbo diesel mHawk engine; both of which use a six-speed manual transmission.

Meanwhile, the AX Series uses the familiar 197bhp/380Nm 2.0-litre Turbo GDi mStallion petrol engine but this time around is available with both a manual and an automatic gearbox. Interestingly, although the 2.2-litre Commonrail Turbo diesel mHawk engine makes 182bhp, the torque output varies. While manual transmission makes 420Nm, the automatic produces a considerably higher 450Nm.
