    There's NOTHING greater than classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons, and I mean NOTHING!! Without them, I never would've survived a toxic childhood. They're as much a part of my life now as then!! Top Cat and Yogi are my special favorites!❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣❣

      I wish you both health, wellness and happiness, every person should know why he exists in this world, there is a Creator who created him and created this universe, and the truth exists in the only religion on this planet that is the religion of Islam, so a person should be abstract and search in this, he will find the truth.. Then he can decide what he wants.

In the evenings after McHale's Navy (6:30pm) it was The Flintstones - also The Jetsons. Fantastic cartoons! (Po' ol' Wiley Coyote never got that skinny ol' Road Runner). Thank You for posting this bit of nostalgia. There had to be another run of them, because in syndication these were shown regularly. way more than just 33! Some featured a mute Yogi and a narrator. The kellogs logo had been edited out, but some of the other scenes in opening and closing sequences are reminiscent of the ones I had seen from 1964-1972. I have never seen some of these incidentals and bumpers. Once again, thanx for sharing!

      8thManDVD.com TH-cam Channel It is quite astounding that these ones still exist. The old style recordings from that era were highly perishable, and they tended to be discarded once they began to decay! There was such a high volume of new productions being introduced after the 1950's, the older ones have not even one example remaining. Yogi Bear was probably one of the most popular of the HB endeavors. - Personally, I had found him to be quite annoying. Thank you once again for you generous post!

    • @8thManDVDcom
      @8thManDVDcom  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Arthur Cabral Yea sadly that's how it was and why most are gone forever. I'm always keeping my eyes open for someone who has rare old recordings tape or film. If you do ever find anyone send them to me. Yogi was obviously based on Ed Norton from Honeymooners and for that reason he seems a bit annoying. I never did like those spoofs like WB's babbit and costello. Funny that Yogi wasn't even the star was all Huck but for some reason people did love him.

    • @arthurcabral9561
      @arthurcabral9561 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      8thManDVD.com TH-cam Channel Huckleberry hound was a multi-role character. Some times a police officer, some times a cow boy, some times a truant officer. He was always a "neer-do-well" that ended up being eaten by a lion, or locked in a cage and forced to attend grammar school, or something equally humiliating. Rather slow, and often stupid, and nearly always being "trounced" in one way or another. People most likely did feel humorous empathy for him, but by no means did they ever wish to IDENTIFY with him. Yogi Bear, on the other hand, (an obvious play on the name of famous baseball legend "Yogi Berra", who was known for saying preposterous remarks like "a nickel ain't worth a dime anymore)". Was always the same role, and constantly planning his next intrepid strategy. Some times acting as a local benefactor, and often subjected to outrageous fortune. He was a thief and a liar at his core, but more often represented a quasi "Robin Hood" anti-hero. I suspect the upbeat and polite nature of his "Ed Norton" persona was more readily defendable than poor Huck. His super-ego personification, and comic-relief side-kick Boo-Boo, was also an effective sound board. Thus, Yogi Bear could probably be regarded as more "popular" than his mentor, Huckleberry Hound. I liked HH better, but that is not important.

      There were two versions- the original Kellogg's sponsored titles (1961-'66, originally syndicated in black and white), and the post-1966 "generic" version without the Kellogg's billboards and spoken I D. {YOGI: "Who else?"/ANNOUNCER: "YOGI BEAR!!"}, with Yog "frozen" in the billboard at 0:40 to the fade-out.

    • @fromthesidelines
      @fromthesidelines 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      ...and that was because Yogi's series was practically rushed into production, after the deal Kellogg's made to sponsor the "MISTER MAGOO" TV cartoons in syndication in the fall of 1960 fell through [UPA refused to follow Kellogg's "guidelines" of what they expected from the series]. They needed another series to join their national "checkerboard" schedule of Huckleberry Hound, Quick Draw McGraw and Woody Woodpecker......Yogi was a natural choice, and he premiered in January 1961.

      Hanna-Barbera's cartoon characters were all over many Kellogg's cereal boxes in the 1960's. Yogi Bear was on OK's. Huckleberry Hound was on All Stars/Sugar Stars. Quick Draw McGraw was on Sugar Smacks. Snagglepuss was on Cocoa Krispies. And Boo Boo was on Triple Snack (a discontinued cereal that was a mix of Sugar Pops, Sugar Smacks, and peanuts.) And on Quick Draw McGraw cartoons that featured Snuffles the dog, another Kellogg's product, a discontinued product, Gro-Pup T-Bone Dog Biscuits, was featured, with Snuffles jumping up, then falling down in ecstasy, after eating one.

    Mr Butler actually briefly play the role of Barney Rubble in 1961 after Mel Blanc suffered his terrible car crash. I heard him do Barney and to me he sounded more like Yogi Bear than Barney. If Mel had not survived and recovered Dawson would probably had replaced Mel and take over the role since Yogi and Barney are similar to Art Carney. They also both worked together on The Jetsons. Mel did Mr Spacely and Dawson did Elroy Jetson. I think they are both the best Voice Actors in past cartoon history.

    • @tobyradloff
      @tobyradloff 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Some of the very early Flintstones did have Barney sounding a little different. And I do remember reading where Warner Bros. set up a studio inside Mel Blanc's hospital room, so he could continue to do his famous voices while he's recovering.

    Fantastic! I grow up watching Orso Yoghi (Yogi Bear) on tv, but this is the first time I hear him speaking his mother(bear)tongue! Of course these commercials were never aired in Italy. Please will someone tell me which accent Snugglepuss has? Is it British? In the Italian version he is called Leone Svicolone. They thought he was a lion, even if he's missing his mane! And they gave him (who knows why...) the accent of people living in Bolonia. Which is very nice to hear anyway.

    Yogi Bear, a play on the name of baseball great Yogi Berra . Some people think its a play on Art Carney's Ed Norton . I think its a take off of Phil Silvers Sgt. Bilko , with the the Mr. Ranger sir representing Col. Hall and Boo Boo as Pvt. Doberman . The picnic baskets always being stolen as the gambling games held on the army fort .
