oh man...the sound of that engine is just so classic...I wish we were still using prop aircraft...jets just dont have any character!
They're not invasion stripes, thats a Pacific bird. The USAAF started painting those stripes on in late '44 to aid in ID. All P-51s and P-47s at hteh end carried them.
These is a very beautiful video of the best escort fighter from World War II. I love these planes and in wargaming I'm a P-51 pilot
