they must be thrown there.. because the water will take them directly to the factory.. if you have seen and watched other episodes carefully.. or I still don't know if I published them.. those logs are carried by the water directly to the factory mechanism from where they are removed and processed inside the factory depending on how I choose.. full logs or planks.. and so on :) well and from there there are other additional processes to do :)
