      @@Rephazer Sure thing! It's one of the loveliest songs you made IMHO. :-) I'm curious to hear your opinion about the OP-XY, especially in comparison to my beloved Field. Are you on any of the forums, elektronauts, op-forums, anything like those?

      @Rephazer  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@portnull Thank you for the kind words! I love the OP-XY and it's amazing sequencer capabilities, multisampler and overall design, but I will always have a soft spot for the tape workflow of the OP-1. They are completely different regarding workflow so a comparison in that regard is out of the question if you ask me.. Do you rather have a advanced sequencer or the freedom of tape to play with. My answer.. Both? ;)

    Amazing work. Thanks for showing us how much this little thing can do!
    I'm curious if the OP-XY has something similar to Elektron's Overbridge? In other words, can this multi-track record into a DAW via USB? And if not, do you know of a good work-around? I realize that it's possible to complete songs on this device without using a DAW, as you've done here, but I do enjoy refining my jams in Ableton when they're ready!

    • @Rephazer
      @Rephazer  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks for listening and your kind words! There is no overbridge, but there is stereo audio in/out via usb so in worst case scenario you could record tracks one by one via USB.

    Also, curious about arranger mode. Can you record punch-in effects in arranger or do they record as part of the pattern? And can you chain songs / projects together to create a live set on the fly?

      Thanks, The Field packs are not (yet) compatible with the XY. The structure of the audio engine flow is different (send fx instead of insert fx for example) so synth sampler sounds will sound different depending on the used FX. Also OP-1 (field) drum-kit samples won't import like they should, since the drum-sampler also changed. Good stuff, as usual. Do you see any difference compared to original op-z? Seems like nothing new except screen, memory and aluminium case..

    • @Rephazer
      @Rephazer  9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks, there are many differences for sure. Keep in mind that I am still a fresh user and mostly spend time sound/sample designing on it, but out of my head.. You can't deny the better built quality of the XY.. this won't bend over time resulting in dials popping out or having double triggers like the Z unfortunately had problems with.
      The audio engine is of a much better quality and everything is stereo now. There are more synth and (multi) sampler engines. New (stereo) effects including a even fancier reverb compared to the one on the OP-1 Field.
      You can allocate voices (polyphony) to channels yourself instead of a pre-set polyphony of voices for the 8 internal audio channels. More sample memory and probably much more differences. I guess there will be videos soon comparing these 2 without a doubt.

    • @alexeykurilo4381
      @alexeykurilo4381 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Rephazer yep, but it is all cosmetics.. It has literally none new features. Same synths engines with few parameters, same fx, one lfo... I remember first time i saw op-z i was super excited about workflow. But new opxy it is like skins in Fortnite, looks different but inside the same.

    Amazing music, and the machine sounds so good! What was the mastering process for this EP? just the tape machine?

    • @Rephazer
      @Rephazer  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you very much! Audio signal goes from XY to Revox B77 MKII for a bit of tape saturation back to the TX-6 which adds a bit of compression and records straight to a USB pen-drive as 24-bit 48 kHz wave file. Normalised the wave file and uploaded to the web ;)

    Fantastic work as always!! Question- how does it export audio? Capable of stems? Just waves or midi?

    • @Rephazer
      @Rephazer  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks. I can't help answer your question, since I only have imported audio into it and record stuff out of it. I am not sure you can even export/render stuff. It's a different workflow, but you can always track out digitally via USB audio.

      @@Rephazerthanks so much for the insight!! When you say track out via USB C…is that a mixdown if the entire song/track/arrangement? Or are you able to get individual stems for each track? Looking to master files in a DAW and want to understand how you can further mix outside of the XY. Appreciate it!

    • @Rephazer
      @Rephazer  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@deadpoolforprez1007 For now it's a single stereo audio signal that comes out of the USB C. So you have to track every single channel apart if you really need these individual tracks on their own. Cheers

      @@Rephazer appreciate you so much! Last question (swear) are you able to isolate the aux tracks for manual stems? Like - can you solo just the "tape" track or just the "punch FX" so when you record in stereo...you can have those isolated?

    • @Rephazer
      @Rephazer  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You can send individual audio tracks to the separate out no problem, but Punch fx and tape are like insert fx so I don’t think you can isolate those.

      Thanks, it’s samples from my own collection. But since I had a maximum of 6,7 mb per preset I had to resample things. Ever tried making a convincing sounding piano with 6,7 megabytes available? It’s quite a challenge I can tell you ;)

    TE used to claim their shitty bleep bloop boxes were shitty on purpose because limitation breeds creativity. Now we can see they have completely lost the thread and just want to charge you $2000 for $10 worth of keyboard parts. It’s sad to see, but it also couldn’t have happened to bigger scumbags.
