    I don’t go into too much depth here regarding the EC1-C specifically since it really is the same mouse essentially as the EC2-C only bigger. I go into more detail in my EC2-C video for this specific shape/-C variant if you want more of a focus on that. I do have to put as a disclaimer that I tend to go back and forth between the preferring the EC1-C to the EC2-C and vice versa. Ideally a theoretical EC1.5 (with the shell material/coating of the Superlight if we're dreaming) really would be the ideal for my hand size I think.
    I figure it would mostly be a lot of similar points then so I opted for more of a comparison versus other prominent “palm grip” mice rather than a bespoke EC1 review. As a side note, I do find that I strongly prefer the shell/coating that other mice use to Zowie's -- there's just something about the smooth plastic that feels less premium in the hand to me compared to something like the matte textured plastic of the DeathAdder X Hyperspeed or the Superlight's rubberized soft touch shell where I think Zowie could elevate their shapes further with future updates.
    Have a good one, thanks.

      The Model D my friend. I have the same size hand as you and prefer the EC style shape. Dimensionally it is an exact 1.5 and the shape differences are almost imperceptible.

      @@frittesmayo3103 Thanks for the recommendation. I don’t own one, but I have seen many reviews of it. Seems like a good price to boot, but I know I dislike holes in mice shells. The DA V3 Pro also seems like kind of a EC1.5 type mouse albeit at a steep price tag so I’m sure I’ll get one of the two eventually.

    if you want that back "ball feeling" from the naga ,the g403/703 has it too

      Thanks, the G403/703 is a great shape that a lot of people love for a reason. I don't own one but I had the opportunity to use one for a bit in an electronics store awhile back. My only gripe with it was that the right side is quite "flat" shaped where I usually prefer a pronounced hump on the back right side myself.

    You need to try the Glorious Model D. It has the the best shape perfect size. I too wish Zowie made a mouse inbetween EC1 & EC2

    • @BlindBison

      Thanks, I appreciate the recommendation. I’ve thought about picking one up for awhile now but it’s the holes in the shell mainly that have me antsy since I usually am not a fan of that personally.
      I have recently presented a DA V3 Pro which seems to also have that EC-1.5 type shape so we’ll see how it goes.

      @@heisenberg3778 Superlight is awesome yeah. That rubberized soft touch plastic feeling of the shell is my favorite as far as coatings go. The reason I don’t main it is just that I have a subjective preference for ergos and I hated the SL’s side buttons lol. I ended up selling my SL but I regret it sometimes.

      @@BlindBison Same here, I didn't like the side buttons (superlight) especially the further one out. I was thinking of sending back also, but after 2 days of use I could not go back to anything else. The honeycomb design of other mice just feels terrible to the touch now. But the comfort, the weight, the wireless is more than enough to compensate for the side button. I honestly think once they update to usb-c and improve the side buttons it would be the best mouse on the market.

    Hello bro, have you tried EC1-C mouse in the bios? I have a problem with EC1-C model, the mouse is stuck in the right side of the bios and can't move from there, when I move it to the middle it goes back to the right side again, I tried all possible solutions , updated the latest bios, bios settings, replaced everything usb ports from 2.0 to 3.1, nothing helps. When I connect another mouse model (I have too Deathadder V2), everything works normally and as it should. Do you know what the problem? I wonder if the problem is only with me or with others, the mouse in Windows works normally, but I am worried about the Bios. Thanks in advance!

    • @BlindBison
      @BlindBison  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ironically I had the opposite problem with my BIOS where the DA V2 was incredible insensitive but the EC mice worked perfectly. Seems that some bios’s just have some trouble with certain mice (or maybe it’s vice versa).

      @@BlindBison I don't know, I contacted Zowie support and I didn't get any answer, I don't know if the problem is only in this model that I have, if there is some error or something similar... The worst thing is that this mouse fits me perfectly and I don't know what to do, should I get a new one since my warranty is still valid.

      @@buffduck1979 if it’s truly “only” the bios that isn’t a deal breaker for me personally but if you’re able to within the window you may be able to do an exchange. I’ve had several mice with issues in the bios that work perfectly otherwise.

    So which one you like the most?

    • @BlindBison
      @BlindBison  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The reason it’s hard to decide on a “favorite” is because there are certain things I clearly like better on some of the mice than the others so it becomes a matter of choosing an “overall” winner rather than a definitive one imo.
      For example, in terms of pure comfort - for my hand size and grip style, the DA V2 wins overall I think (maybe the EC1-C though, it's pretty close (I think if Zowie had an official EC1.5 that'd probably be the winner in terms of sheer comfort).
      However, it’s not so clear cut as that since I find the furthest forward side button (towards the clicks) easier to reach on the EC1-C and my fingers also don’t go off the end of the mouse when I full blown palm it like they do on all the smaller mice. Those advantages are pretty meaningful imo.
      Were I a claw gripper main the overall win would easily go to the EC2-C. The EC2-C actually has even more comfortable to reach side buttons than the EC1 does.
      The Vaxee Outset is very impressive for it’s own reasons too - I feel that I have a bit more room to rest my ring and pinky finger on the right side versus the EC2 and I really dig that the mouse shell is like one perfect uniform piece practically.
      I know they didn’t want to copy the EC2 but I do sort of wish it was as long as the EC2 while keeping its other bigger dimensions. The outset is one where I’m really curious to see what they do with future revisions. In the end you’ll find other TH-camrs prefer a different one of these to me and they’re all actually really superb mice that represent some of the best out there to my estimation.

    Yeah I think my hands are bigger than yours I've been forced to use claw because no other mouse fits my hand but I do want to go back to palm and I am looking for mice that can actually fit my hands

    • @BlindBison
      @BlindBison  ปีที่แล้ว

      EC1-C is about as large as it gets. If you have large hands and like a palm grip off the top of my head the EC1-C, the DeathAdder V2 or V3 Pro (depending on which shape you like more), or maybe even something like the Naga could be a good fit for you. If you've got especially large hands my bet is that many mice would force you to claw grip them as you say. In fact, I think this might even be why so many players develop a preference for claw as many mice they use early on force them to use that grip and then they naturally get use to it over time. Just speculating though, there's nothing wrong with claw of course :)

    Pulsar xlite v2 falls in that EC1.5 category

    • @BlindBison
      @BlindBison  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, yeah I’ve read very positive things regarding that mouse recently.
      My only issues with it on paper are that:
      1) I personally can’t stand holes in my mice/shells.
      2) In terms of being larger than the EC2, reading the dimensions online it seems to me that it’s more “longer” without being much wider (assuming I’m remembering right). Part of my issue with the EC2-C is that I feel like it doesn’t provide quite a big enough support hump on the back right for my hand size so extra width can go a long way.
      3) I’ve heard the wheel isn’t the best, but it’s hard to tell without trying it out in person.
      I acknowledge I’m nitpicking the heck out of it, it really does seem like a great mouse, I might just cave and buy one at some point to be honest. I’d be ecstatic if Zowie announced a true EC1.5 though.

    • @peleh1
      @peleh1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BlindBison I also lean towards the EC1 for that same reason, EC1 is perfect size for me, the only downside is the weight, which Zowie tried to correct with the -C variant now right? There's also some discrepancies between EC1's, like, the old White EC1-A feels a bit smaller than the EC1-B, which have a thicker coating, also, if someone wants to use grip tapes, the EC2 could feel a lot bigger depending on the tape used. Its really weird, every single detail on a mouse shape can make a difference on perception, like the Vaxee AX feels big despite being a lot smaller, also the Xlite V2 is the same height as the EC1 on the left part of it making it feels almost like a blend between EC2 and EC1.

    • @BlindBison
      @BlindBison  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, of course there's a lot of subjectivity involved for this sort of thing and it really depends on your hand size and grip preference. Really I think in some ways it just comes down to how the DA fits somewhere in between the EC1 and EC2 in size and for my hand size that's just about perfect. I rotate through the mice on occasion so my opinion can shift here and there.
      I will say that the EC and Outset mice are, to my perception, more flexible hybrid shapes whereas the DA excels more specifically at palm variants. I do personally think the DA's matte textured shell feels better than the smooth sort of cheap feeling plastic shells on the EC/Outset mice. Superlight's rubberized soft touch shell wipes the floor with them all though the SL's shape and cruddy side buttons just aren't for me.
