My father initially had the rubber/silver version fo the watch for more than 10yrs and this watch has never really "aged" despite the dust and the abuse it took but still held it's guard. When I was a young man working on a first job, I met a colleague and later a friend who had the exact model you are reviewing and he led me yesterday to purchase a CTL1616 battery which is rare but not impossible to find! Finally seeing your video on the exact same day, just one year later in 21 made me purchase my own. I am very happy with my purchase and thumbs up for your channel. You described in perfect detail! :)
I bought 2 of the silver versions in 2007. They are pretty battered and scratched but both are going strong. One of the plastic collars that connect the band to the watch broke today. On both watches you can see that the plastic has aged considerably. So will order a new collar (the 6HR side). But by the time you get it to Australia it's over $60. Whew, expensive but worth it to keep the watch.
I just received my watch a few days ago. I’m excited to see how it holds up at work over the years. I’ll be bookmarking this video so I can use it to trouble shoot if I run into any issues. I selected this watch before seeing this video. The watch just spoke to me.
I've just bought one of these. I like the big numbers and the design is similar to a G510 i had for nearly 20 years so i know it's going to be comfortable. The only thing that jars is the odd colour to the lugs but maybe it's better in the flesh. A note on the latest BT gshocks, some have both multi band and BT so you have the best of both worlds. I have an MTG b3000 and I have it disconnected from my phone to receive the radio signal.
That date format is based on the Japanese standard, not the American. Japanese format is year/month/day. It just looks like USA format (month/day/year) because Casio doesn't include the year on the display. If it helps, the American format was inherited from the traditional British standard as well (along with other colonies), we just never changed to the international standard.
I just picked up this watch a week ago. I LOVE IT couldn't be happier. I was on the fence about switching back to a digital watch but I'm happy that I did. This is my everyday watch I even wear while sleeping lol. Now there are so many functions on this watch. I probably won't use some of them and that's ok. This beauty is built to last and can't wait to have it for years to come. Thank you😎
3:47 Well considering that on a full charge the battery has MONTHS of power reserve in total darkness, I don’t see the excitement over the battery life indicator-especially considering how much of the display it takes up. With daily wear, you should never have to worry about it.

Simon, I know the vid is a bit aged, but I need clarification. This model number is being sold on Amazon in the States, and another model number:MTGM900DA-8 is being sold on both the official Casio site and a few others. Are they the same? If so, which one has been manufactured more recently? I don't use time memo or countdown time that much, so mainly whichever one is more recent would be nice. Cheers from the States brudda!
By this I mean the "CR" is omitted on the end of the model number I have seen on the Casio site and on Walmart and other sites. Does the CR mean it's a newer model? Thanks again.
I just bought this watch. I like it but dislike how the two plastic parts between the bracelet and the case are a different colour from the case. They stand out and looks really odd.
Hi! I just bought this same watch from Casio America about a week ago and I noticed that the solar charging indicator is on medium (M). I had it changed under the sun for at least 2-3 hours but it didn’t even move. Is this normal or there’s something wrong with it?
I bought a polarising filter for approximately £3, then followed s TH-cam tutorial to remove the neg display. Be super slow and careful. Easy to break your watch if you're not careful.
Resin with some stainless steel over it. MTG means metal twisted G and I think that (used to mean) there is a combination of resin and stainless steel. Mostly resin though. Hope this helps
Couldn't agree more. The comfort level on the bracelet is amazing. I've worn many watches through out my life and this one by far feels great and looks amazing while doing it😎
Really?? That's strange. If you've set the year, time and date right then it should be fine. Can you try using multiband 6 to set it? If you're not within reach there are apps that allow you to do it by putting earphones into your phone and putting your watch on top of the earphones so it acts like a radio signal.

It is on very low charge so I have to leave it on a windowsill for a couple days to see if it fully charges, otherwise I may need a new battery I suppose? Other than that, I couldn't pass it up for $15

Also, previous versions of the ISO 8601 date standard specified -MM-DD as an acceptable format.

Hi friends MTG stands for Mister G watch and that is definitely the most premium G-Shock Line
I don't think it does. MRG, Casio's premium line of G-Shocks, stands for Mister G or Mr. G. MTG or MT-G stands for Metal Twisted G-Shock.

These are extremely comfortable watches. Not sure how Casio did it, but the bracelet is great on these. Highly recommended.

How do I change the day of week? I dont see an option. I have changed the time, date and year but the day of week is wrong
