I do want to say that this time last year there was a lot of online noise concerning the buffs. Lots of people got on the prime train and got paid. OkState's QB, Alan Bowman:
threw more yards last season than any other current XII QB has in any of their career seasons (excluding Shedeur at the FCS level), all that while being on the team with the nations leading rusher, and like Ollie he also only got a third of the snaps thru the first 3 games.
He is also one of only 2 current (21 all time) college QBs with a 600+ game, the other is Dillon Gabriel.
Out of the 4 QBs that threw for over 500 attempts, 2 of them had more interceptions than Alan Bowman, the 4th was Michael Penix at 11 interceptions.
The first 3 games were primarily pass centric as they were deciding a starting QB, rotating 3 QBs at 4 drives each in each game. The UCF game was played in a monsoon and weren't prepared to stay dry. Iowa State in Ames is a death sentence to us ever since 2011.
Early leads normally crush running offense's, but if you look at the games vs WVU, Houston, and BYU, Ollie popped off at half time to make massive comebacks.
WVU: 3 of Ollie's 4 TDs came in the 4th quarter
Houston: trailed 23-9 with 2 minutes left before halftime, Ollie scored 3 TDs in the second half
BYU: trailed 24-6 at halftime only scoring 2 field goals, Ollie scored 3 TDs in the second half, then scored 2 TDs in overtime
which is nothing new to OkState, if you look at 2021 there were a couple of games that they came back from trailing by 2 or more touchdowns. seems like every year we have 2-3 2+ TD comeback games
We are definitely facing some decent backs this year.

Unfortunately, Texas dominated every aspect of the game. Texas has better talent all over the field but that's been the case almost every year even though Gundy is 9-4 against the Horns since 2010. It was a thrashing and Texas played as well as they could against the Pokes run game. No excuses, Texas kicked the hell out of us.
@@TH-camstaffRMaoApologists in that game it appeared the biggest difference was the Texas D line. They were immovable and Ollie just didn’t have anywhere to run. They did that in every game though. Had to pass on Tex to beat them

I only caught the game live, never felt the need to re-live it but seems you are correct. Both lines were the difference if memory serves me....as much as it pains me, it was domination. In 2023, on both sides of the ball, Texas had those 3rd and 4th d-linemen that could play anywhere, and it helps.

What I saw was some good blocking! He good in the secondary. But good blocking plus low gap integrity equals big plays for them!

T Cal what you think bout SDSU? They play OK ST First game. They are back 2 back fcs champs and only loss in the past 2 years is to Iowa by 3. They brought a lot back, OSU could be in for an upset imo.
