      I was watching historical animations of different figures and historical beauties and one of the videos struck me strongly. I was reminded of it when watching this video. It was an animation of current celebrities turning them into classic statues/sculptures. I noticed instantly that almost none of the celebrities now are what older standards of beauty are. I would love for you to explore different historical eras and what the prized faces and body types were. I just get so sick of instagram bratz doll influencers. I desperately want a breath of fresh air. I even encountered a bit of a puzzle. Several historical beauties' I saw had a specific look that I could not type. The women had moderately delicate straight noses with a sharply defined but moderate mouth. This paired with deep set eyes in a soft oval face with high cheekbones and a small chin. But, that doesn't really quite fit with a specific face type.... ?

    I for one am very happy Kibbe got rid of the link between face and body because I don't think it accounted for race/ethnicity at all. Whenever I saw quizzes which discussed the facial features, they were focused on European features have very little in common with my strong African features. I would have gotten typed as a Romantic in the face based on those quizzes when my features are just typical for a west African.

    • @Hiddenplace414
      @Hiddenplace414 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Romantic is more round shapes than angled lines etc which I'm sure you get that concept. Generally they would go with the body but sometimes it doesn't. I would just really focus on the angles if they are soft or harsher. And face shape. I have a very round nose and full face so my face definitely matches romantic round softness. If you are slightly less round maybe you are theatrical romantic. Or gamine sometimes works for romantic too.

      @@dahliaherrod4301 I think Kibbe is about the overall vibe. I´m a Flamboyant Natural too (I ofted called my bone structure robust before I knew these systems ;)), but I do have some softness here and there. I have large round eyes, average lips, a large chest and a soft lower belly, no matter my weight and age. It is just that my bone structure and muscles are more dominant than my softness overall. I know this can be expensive, but sometimes it’s worth it to find an affordable tailor and get a few important pieces in your wardrobe tailored to fit your shape. Not everyone fits ready to wear clothing well. In fact, I would say most people don’t really fit ready to wear clothing well. We just have learned to deal with good enough, but if it’s a formal piece, or one you will wear frequently for years to come, it can be worth a little extra time and money to have it made to fit perfectly. I use a sweet older lady who does alterations locally out of a shop in her house and charges a very affordable price.

      Do try intermittent fasting if you d like to lose weight it has done wonders for me after kids. It's important to be healthy for longevity. I'm a kind that cannot pull off extra weight. I gain it in all the wrong places. Like around me knees and face lol i still struggle every day. Keeping more or less in shape helps me look better in clothes and the task easier.

      I'm the same. I have very big thighs, bigger hips and glutes, bigger boobs. It's almost impossible to find anything nice in a size that fits me. I often look very inappropriate in alot of "fashionable" clothing.
      Best tip I can give you is try to stick to basics.
      Leggings, tank tops in neutral or plain colours, simple jackets like leather. I own 3 pairs of jeans, one in light blue, one darker blue and a black. It's just tricky to find a pair that fit. So try on as many as you can.
      Build up your wardrobe with affordable basics first. Then look at other pieces.

      I think this just gives you more room to play. Zendaya is a great example of this. She’s a dramatic with a gamine face and she dabbles in styles and haircuts from both body types. I would say her silhouettes tend to ere more on the dramatic side, but she color blocks a lot, and has waist emphasis in lots of outfits both of which are very gamine. She also flips back and forth between different hairstyles too. So I think if you’re like that, you get to play around a bit, which is fun!

    This video is very helpful! I can see why facial focus can skew your body type results. Faces are so important for finding color season, so you have to switch gears when trying to determine your body type. Edit: I have a dramatic classic face, imo. Everything is balanced, but I have some sharpness in my lips, nose, and cheekbones, and I have large eyes, a slightly blunt but angular jaw, and moderate forehead. My face shape is square. I am pretty sure that I am a dramatic classic body type as well. My test results are pretty even between dramatic and classic. Essence is a tough one for me, but from what others have told me, I think that may be classic too.

Strong, square jaw and rectangular face shape, but soft and somewhat full lips, very rounded and somewhat dominant nose, moderate eyes, moderate cheekbones and high forehead. Still have to look into my body type. This stuff is fascinating! I am also still unsure of my coloring. When I was much younger, I had some kind of professional try to determine my color season, and they and everyone else that was with us had a really hard time. My features are pretty angular but people always notice my bone structure/cheekbones first. Very Scandinavian/Eastern European looking.

      @БорянаГеоргиева-м1е ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I’m the same, but I’m still unsure. Although lately, I think I have a soft classic body and dramatic classic face. I keep getting the classic type on the kibbe test (mostly C‘s), but I have a lot of D answers for flesh and some facial features and several B’s for body structure and facial bones. I do have a medium-sized face, starting as oval from the top down, but with some slight bluntness in the jawline, I have a medium-sized narrow straight nose looking from the front but with a bump looking on the profile (due to a minor trauma in childhood) and the tip tends to get wide when I smile. My cheekbones are not huge but are defined enough and are more noticeable because I don’t have too much flesh on top (nor too little). My eyes, however, are big and almond-shaped, hooded. My lips are moderate, with some Cupid‘s bow definition, definitely not too thin, nor lush and sensual.
      I hope I have finally found my type because of these discrepancies between face and body.
      How do you style so that those features of your face complement your body?

  • @stylespruce

    Not all gamines have big eyes, I think it's more about the mixture of different features and compact size. For instance, I'm a soft gamine and I have small sharp eyes and small but lush nose and lips- it's what made it so difficult for me to put myself into that category. I thought I was theatrical romantic for the longest time, but I realised that fully glamorous makeup and hairstyles are a little much for me.

    I agree. I think if you’re unsure if you’re one type or another, the face can tip the scale for you. Or if you are clear on your body type but still feel like theres just a hint of something you cant quite put your finger on, your face and hair can be the source of that essence you’re trying to identify. I was sure I was a natural and yet I felt some tension in certain areas and found I didn’t really like what would be prescribed for a natural. For a while I thought maybe I leaned towards a classic somehow …. Anyhow. After studying the essences more closely, I realized that while I am not especially tall or long, I have more dramatic essence in my face that pulls my overall best style over to the flamboyant natural end of things. I need that extra bit of oomph in my style. I need a little bit more yang. Something in my outfit needs to be quite strong and while I cannot carry off wild patterns, when I have some touch of the dramatic somewhere in my outfit, suddenly it all makes sense and pops. If I try to do a purely classic look, I look strangled by my clothes and oddly proportioned. The minute I untuck the shirt and dishevel my hair, BAM, now we’re talking. The classic bit I detect in there has to do more with the colour palate and the need for a bit of tailoring in every outfit. A dramatic line with a touch of classic tailoring all in an easy natural way is the magic mix for me. It’s all really fascinating to see it work.

      @@sobean9309 thank you. Yeah that seems like it would work. It's interesting because I think I might have been a romantic if I wasn't so tall, and I like things that are recommended to them (I like delicate jewellery, but SD's are told to go for large chunky jewellery).

    I think I'm a flamboyant natural(1,80 cm, blunt bones in the body, in my face I have a iregularity, my face is asymetrical). I actually have very big features, big round eyes, blunt nose, my jaw is kind of blund( I think I tend a bit twards dramatic, but very slightly), but I have a very tiny waist and tiny feet and tiny hands, but blunt, which is wierd ) :))) I really like your theory on root style, I think I have a stone, earth, masroom( and I sometimes, depending on the ocasion and season, combine with a bit of flower and fire, even tho it's sounds contradictory, it's not I swear :))) ) . Thank you for your work. It's amazing! ✨🙀❤️❤️

      @lebrilopejackalope5775 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mmm I'm not sure since I'm not expert but is it possible that your body type is actually soft dramatic? Soft dramatics are naturally curvaceous similarly to romantics, they're dramatics with a romantic undercurrent, the big difference is on the bone structure and on the vertical line (which I think is basically whether you look long and tall, or short and petite). I'm mentioning this because I had trouble differenciating the two, and it makes more sense that way since that way there's not such a huge contrast between face and body type (extreme yang face and extreme yin body).

      I'm 5'11". No one will ever mistake me for anything other than the Soft Dramatic I am. I have the long, narrow hands, feet, and limbs that I'm supposed to have but a fleshy body type...and the large eyes and high cheekbones and sharp nose and chin of a Soft Dramatic. If I were going off of my face alone, I'd have to pick either FG or TR. My face is short, sort of heart-shaped, but not as sharp as most hearts, slightly more rounded. I have high and prominent cheekbones, but a lot of softness to the face and cheek apples, giving me a softer look.
    That said, I'm 5'6, and I'm muscular, and very curvaceous on top of that, so I'd say I'm built like a truck, but the kind of truck that's aspirations. While I did entertain FN, any natural style, whether it comes to lines or essence is probably my worst look, right along with classic or ethereal, so I dismissed it, and I'm going with SD. My essence is either DGI or RGI.

    This what I was told after measurements and photo analysis by ai and not a professional but It had all my proportions . Kibbe Soft Natural or Soft Classic:
    Soft Natural: Soft, slightly rounded features, balanced proportions, moderate bone structure, and gentle curves.
    Soft Classic: Balanced facial features with softly defined bone structure, slightly rounded edges, and moderate to small features.
    Kitchener Romantic-Classic:
    Romantic-Classic: Delicate and feminine facial features, rounded edges, soft jawline, and full lips. Balanced proportions with a hint of softness and grace.
    McJimsey Gamine-Romantic:
    Gamine-Romantic: Petite and delicate facial features with a hint of softness, slightly rounded cheeks, and a youthful appearance. Expressive eyes and lips.
    BrynLinski Elegant-Romantic:
    Elegant-Romantic: Graceful and refined facial features with softly defined bone structure, gentle curves, and an overall elegant appearance. Balanced proportions and a sense of sophistication.
    Color Analysis Deep Autumn:
    Deep Autumn: Warm undertones with rich, earthy hues. Skin may have golden or peachy undertones, and eyes and hair often feature deep, warm colors like dark brown, red, or auburn.
    Body Shape Hourglass or Cuddle Hourglass:
    Hourglass or Cuddle Hourglass: Balanced proportions with a defined waist, full bust, and hips of similar width. Soft curves and a feminine silhouette.
    Dressing Your Truth Type 2/Type 3 Blend:
    Type 2/Type 3 Blend: Softly defined facial features with a mix of yin and yang qualities. Balanced bone structure with a hint of angularity, combined with a sense of softness and grace.
    Overall, these style profiles and characteristics suggest a blend of softness, femininity, and elegance in both facial and body features, with a preference for warm, rich colors and balanced proportions. Still unsure what that looks like in practice. I’m playing around with all of it. I’ve been diving into the deep autumn and enjoying it being my season. I’d like to understand more of the body profiles and see if this accurate . It’d be fun to try these out as I learn.

    Hi, just because you asked in a different video about MBTI: your tendency to make spreadsheets sounds a bit more like extroverted thinking than interoverted thinking, and the way you speak sounds a lot like extroverted intuition rather than introverted intuition (the way you sometimes jump back and forth between thoughts), so i would place you as an INFP (FiNeSiTe) rather than INFJ (NiFeTiSe), but if you wanna find out more, look up cognitive functions :) you might be using Se a lot for fashion and Ni to give you the drive to complete projects. Only you can say which functions really resonate with you :)

    While there's no use for me to categorize myself in a system like this, since I already know what clothes work for me, I get annoyed because I don't think any of the categories fit me lmao. Maybe if I worked it out backwards it would make more sense.
    Natural clothing makes me look like a lump, frilly stuff makes me look like I'm wearing someone else's clothes. Waist emphasis is key, and so are thinner fabrics, unless they're very structured. Shoes need some chunk to them.
    If that rings a bell for anyone I'd love to hear it.

    Still don’t know 🤷🏼‍♀️ Looking at pictures of myself (can’t objectively see anything in the mirror) I see big, soft, round features. My eyes are very prominent, above average in size and quite round. Slightly protruding. My nose is short and quite wide with a very round tip that points every so slightly upwards. My chin is slightly sharp and quite protruding. My mouth is small, lips neither full nor thin. High forehead, and high but soft cheekbones. In my teens and early 20’s I had noticeably soft cheeks and fleshy cheekbones, but now that I’ve been through two pregnancies I’ve lost that youthful sort of fleshiness. I honestly don’t know!
    Same with my body. May be classic, may be TR. Used to be sure about TR but I can’t see myself objectively any more. I do know, however, that my body and face very much look like they were drawn by the same artist so to speak. More on the yin side.

But the sleek and blunt hairstyles never really complimented me like my natural voluminous wavy hair. I have also wanted to get layers for the longest time (to distribute my volume make it more even) without knowing if it would suit me. Upon consulting a few websites, they recommended layers, waves or curls for the soft dramatics. I also love the makeup that is suggested for the soft dramatic face ! I think this shows that the way you dress your face is as important as your body.
