feels so realistic. I can imagine doing these moves in WW2 and just how hard it probably was. Great play through. I will definitely look into this game. Thanks, I still wish there was a tip button, to help support this channel
It definitely does feel realistic! Very tense and some tough decisions to be made. Thank you for your support, I’ve added a tip link in my profile. It’s ko-fi.com/boardgamebadger
Great playthrough, thanks. The combined missions you chose made it very tight so the priority for me would be to create the chemist lab first I think, knowing that both mission completions could have been made together and at the expense of a worker in each location (both are starred locations) I'm fairly new to the game, played only a handful of times but I do use a Tracker for the Malise - I feel it is something that works thematically - you would think that enemy patrols would have been studied during this period and patterns found in their movements, so for me I don't feel it in anyway breraks the game, I find it helpful but not a guarantee of success. I'm sure I've seen somewhere in BGG that the designer is ok with the use of a tracker too. However, I've seen other playthroughs with people not using one and they win often - but I think their memory is perhaps a little better than mine! Other Solo games you might consider (all on the lighter side): Skulls of Sedlec + Monstrance Solo Expansion, Trekking Through History using Solo 'Librarian' that can be printed out from their website , Port Royal + Just One More Contract Solo deck & For Northwood!. I've recently started to make PnP versions of games & really enjoy some of Jason Glove titles: Desolate, Iron Helm & Tin Helm - all great Solo games to play. Though if you don't want to do PnP, importing the games from The Game Crafter to the UK is crazy expensive. I also enjoyed your playthough of cascadia Solo - another favourite of mine. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for watching, and for your detailed comments. Yes, I think your approach would have improved my chances at winning, I must try again sometime with that mission combination: it was so tough! I think you’re right about the police tracker, I might give it a go to see how it affects my success. I didn’t realise Trekking Through History could be played solo: I love the overall look and artwork of that game so I’m very excited to hear I could solo it! I’ve ordered some Jason Glover games from the Game Crafter: his artwork is so cool and some of the mechanisms look really interesting. I did wince at the shipping cost! I usually have to wait for a few games I want to buy, then place a large order to make the postage worth while. I also keep looking at Port Royal, but I haven’t yet taken the plunge. I’ll add it to the list 🤩
Great video. I really enjoyed watching. I'd love to see more of these.
Thanks for watching, and commenting! I’ll definitely do more playthroughs, of this and other games.
Thanks for this video. You sold me on picking this up before my next trip.
Brilliant! Enjoy 😊
Maquis is still so great!
It’s brilliant! Every game ends up being completely different, and so absorbing.
@@BoardGameBadgerYes, always so surprised how immersed I get in each game. Theme and gameplay go hand in hand in this one.

Glad you decided to spotlight this one! I’m also a solo gamer and love to learn about new options.
I’m glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for watching! Maquis is a brilliant little game.
@@BoardGameBadger I ordered it of course. 😝
