If you choose to remain unmarried and abstain from sexual activity, you are practicing celibacy.
If you are unmarried but wish to marry and engage in sexual activities once married, you are practicing abstinence.

Thank you for sharing this, l recently told a male friend that l can remind celibate for the test of my life and he actually rebuked me but l didn't take him serious because l thought he was trying to woo me I to something l wasn't ready for. Celibacy is mentioned several times. It can be practiced for a set period of time to grow spiritually or to gift during a time of prayer and meditation. It is a vow. Like taking a vow of silence usually lasts a year.
Abstaining for virtuous reasons is keeping one for marriage and yes the Bible does ask virtuous women tosave themselves for their husbands.
