If your talking about the iron spider suit I don't think he had to wear a thong underneath the mocap suit. I'm not aware of any other suits that were completely CGI so if there are let me know.

Well yeah, it’s quite hard to move like Spider-Man is supposed to without CGI. He wears the suit while filming so they can reference it in every shot and make the CGI as blended as the possible with the real shots. Otherwise, you get Green Lantern lmao.

The complete injustice of this is the costume wasn't used at all in the final product. The costume and Holland were 100% fully replaced with a CGI body. Every time the costume is on screen, it's not actually Tom. I think the real costume looks so much better than the version we get in the movie.
I mean… I think superhero’s need to be wearing something that is comfortable and doesn’t give them a hassle. While also wearing something that meaningful, powerful or stealthy.

The most uncomfortable costume in all of film/tv history was the royal guards in World of Warcraft. I was in it for 28 days total. The costume weighed over 40 pounds and required a crew of people to put on and take off. It was terrible. That being said I'd bet storm trooper costumes were brutal.

He’s a dancer, the “thong” is also referred to as a belt or jockstrap, it’s a specifically designed piece of clothing male ballet dancers wear to keep their tackle in place and provide additional support to the pelvic and abdominal wall. For someone of his performative level, it wouldn’t have been any different from a dance costume.
I always thought his suit looked like it was the most comfy..and McGuire’s looked the least comfy. Learn something new everyday
