Great episode guys, really enjoyed that. Your last point about separating fish is very valid and where I struggle myself in the hobby, your grow on service is a great way around this. Long term I’ll go for two ponds as it has big advantages as you say.
Learn so much from these videos. I can't afford pricey koi but feed them Saki Hikari anyway. Some koi turn dark in my pond. Maybe you could talk about this some time? Like is that genetics or super hard water? Is there a way to predict when a koi might do this? I love Ochiba but the last two I got turned almost black and I can't even see the pattern now. One was doitsu and the other ginrin from US bred koi. The one from Japan never turned dark at all.
Isn't it a huge contradiction to talk so passionately about mud pond keeping, but ignore the crucial feeding period and leave shows and trading to flourish during that period?
This was incredibly engaging and really insightful I love this topic and welcome back to podcast
Great talk again guys keep it coming , when things go wrong this keeps me going . THANK YOU
