Just found this title today and to be honest, I really liked the idea of Kanban: EV and I REALLY, REALLY wanted it, but the price was fairly steep. I liked the complexity aspect of it, but when I watched your playthrough I thought to myself....I'd never have time for Kanban, let alone getting it to the table frequently would be next to impossible. When I saw people compare Bot Factory to Kanban as a simpler version and simple AI? I think that sold it for me to pick up Bot Factory in the near future because of 2 factors: 1. Looks easy to set up and play and finish in a reasonable amount of time, including running a solo AI bot while making it a fun puzzle/euro game. 2. I would be able to convince people to actually play Bot Factory rather than have them jump into Kanban. There's just not enough time to get them built up to Kanban levels of board game skill, let alone scheduling time to do it. Kanban would have become my most expensive decoration on my shelf and I don't want decorations. Maybe someday I'll get Kanban: EV but it's no where in sight for the foreseeable future.
Agree 100% about the game as a solo experience. (I scored 70 on my first game). I will be tryiong it 4 player on the weekend. I'll report back here next week. (I find Kanban EV unfulfilliong solo as well, the AI makes an already complicated game, super complicated and i find it difficult to concentrate on my plans.
I completely understand what you are saying about Kanban EV and I don't necessarily disagree. That is why I like Weather Machine better for solo, because I find the AI easier to manage. But I played Kanban EV solo like 6 times in a row while dealing with an illness and I managed to get pretty good at running the AI and it felt like less of a hassle. That is not how I typically play games, however. I'd love to hear how you find Bot Factory at 4. I haven't managed to play at that player count yet. Thanks for watching!
Ending up being a 3 player game as one of the group had to leave early. It was certainly more interesting than solo. I think it is a toatally different game at the various player counts. Two player is very tactical, but each extra player adds a little more chaos to the mix. I'd like to try it a few more times at various player counts before coming to a final decision.
Awesome, Nir. I've found my solo plays to be a bit samey, but I'm very excited to bring it to my next gaming night. Lots of clever stuff in this one. Thanks for watching!
I haven't yet, Peter. This summer has been stupid busy for a variety of reasons and I've barely been able to play games with my friends IRL. Adults are so boring!

Definitively not a replacement for Kanban but one game in, I like this a fair amount. Not sure about replay value yet.

Have you tried the multiplayer yet?
