I live in MN. Not only do we need the lakes clean for our own health, but tourism dollars depend on keeping the lakes clean. Still, it's a battle. Ground water contamination is also an issue here and individual wells near corporate farms are drying up because corporate farming uses disproportionate amounts of water for mass irrigation systems. On top of all that, we have been fighting for years against the pipelines carrying dirty tar sands from Canada going through the most pristine natural areas of the state. Water, as a resource, is definitely under attack from multiple sources. All the things that pollute our water and deplete this VITAL natural resource are unsustainable. We all lose if this is allowed. Conversely, if we diligently protect our water, everyone ends up winning.
