Just a little something, but Return has not been in the game since gen 8, so Regigigas would have to use Body Slam, Crush Grip, Mega Punch, Double Edge, Giga Impact or Facade
I feel like a non slow start Regigigas would be too much for OU, but it might be generally outclassed by Arceus-Normal in ubers. They share a normal typing, but Arceus is faster while also having extremespeed, setup, and recovery. Regigigas is significantly stronger and has great coverage, so that might give it some niche over Arceus-Normal, but generally speaking I just don't see it being better than Arceus in a tier where the top threats are so fast. However, Regigigas would be absolutely insane in UUbers, and be way too much for OU. Those stats are still insane, and its coverage means it just can wallbreak past anything while still being really bulky.
I mean idk about comparing him to Arceus Normal, they would fill completely different niches on a team with arceus being kingambit 2.0 and Regigigas being either an AV or choiced bulky attacker, its definitively not going to be a mainstay on teams because of how absurd the metagame is but it would be a very nice blanket check to a good chunk of the metagame
I can imagine regigigas getting banned off stats alone but due to how fast and powerful the ubers meta is, on top of koraidon being #1 in usage he would probably fall to UUbers. Plus due to how common ghost tera is due to e-killer and the absence of a riskless powerful stab move(No return or frustration ) I think he would still struggle to apply his damage. Plus the meta is hostile to physical attackers since ho-oh and giratina love to spread burn. In UUbers he would probably be banned from the tier. normal type is great to switch in to the ghost types dominating the meta. and he has knock off and all the stats he needs.
idk man if anyone not named giratina really likes to switch into a banded 160atk body slam and considering the absurdity of the metagame its not worth to waste your tera on a bulky attacker instead of the miraidon, arceus or zacian that your opponent has a 99% chance of having
Someone already left the “No Return in Gen 9” comment so mine will be more about where I think Regigigas would end up. No ability, no reliable recovery, and a very boring Normal type are not good predictors for Regigigas in an OU environment where it relies on Body Slam or Double-Edge for STAB and must run Knock Off, Earthquake, and Fire Punch or else be walled by Corviknight, Balloon Gholdengo, and Garganacl, and Regi will probably still lose to many physical walls and tanks like the mentioned ones or Zamazenta because of status and its lack of recovery. 160 is immense for attack so Regi would be a wallbreaker similar to Kyurem in bulk and decent speed but with the limitations of the Normal type and a lack of boosting options to boot. I could see this settling in OU with some hype for it being a SpDef focused tank that takes on threats like Dragapult, Gholdengo, and Kyurem using its bulk while making useful progress with Knock Off and having few safe switch-ins thanks to item removal and its coverage. This almost feels like a Hoopa-U situation where, if Regi is not Ubers by being able to tear apart cores on its own, it might fall out of OU and into UU. To anyone reading this comment, thanks for coming to my thesis.
I think the buff regigigas needs is to make his cry be from reggie on the Wii fit saying “My body is ready” as he destroys the first Pokémon sent at him with his big ass hands
I feel like one of Regigigas's biggest weakness is a lack of an ability, because if he doesnt have Slow Start, then what does me have? No Ability is a humongous disadvanatge as all Regi will have is his stats and decent movepool. It will depends how you build him, but you always are better off making Regi a massive attacker. He is fast enough to outspeed a good chunk of pokemon and hit suoer hard with a Choice Band, but Choice Scarf is also a good pick. He is bulky enough to take a few hits, so unless it's against a set up, Regi is gonna either deal heavy damage or at least get one kill. But honestly, thats kinda it. It's movepool is decent, but there are several other pokemon that can do that job better even if it's at the sacrifice of a really high attack for something less, and the moves Regi does have access too are kinda just ok, nothing unique or new, and once again there are pokemon that not only can utilize them better, but have access to even better moves. I see regi working as a nuclear bomb, whether it be scarf or band, he is gonna be dealing giagantic damage (since a lack of set-up is an issue) but Regi unfortunately fells predictable with what moves you can expect. He may be good in OU but he will not come close to the best.
I've remebering on previous games this mon having body slam, protect ice punch and what is last... knock off I'm glad this mon enjoyed on in Uber, i hope so lol
Honestly I can see it doing well in UUbers, cause Ubers is to much because Koraidon is everywhere and OU is definitely not handling it. It’s bulky enough to handle Pokemon like magerna and can hit a lot of things hard.
The chibi version of you is rly fitting and cute lol, I rly like it, it helps me concentrate to what you say ! It's the second video of you that I see, I think i'm gonna watch a lot more, I have pokémon autism and you fulfile the need of info rly well.
Me and my copium wholeheartedly believe that Gamefreak will give Regigigas another ability some day. It's definitely happening. Definitely. Someday. Eventually. I hope.
this video made me realize he would be such a healthy presence on the gen 9 ubers metagame and now im burdened with the knowledge that gamefreak just decided to make the metagame shittier for no reason
@@definitelyaweeb270Fauna and Matsuri are my oshis but I love them all also I love Sora’s music and I watch a lot of Noel’s streams in the background when I do stuff
Pokemon are meant to be quirky JRPG creatures and Regigigas was clearly designed to be one that throws players off by being unexpectedly weak and vulnerable given the level it’s caught at in the games it debuted in. Its creators knew exactly what they were doing by experimenting with the type of legendary, special, and mythical Pokemon that were available in Sinnoh, and Regigigas is following design inspiration from Slaking or Kecleon in Gen 3. I get that a lot of people look at Pokemon that struggle to function as battlers but like, come on, is Farfetch’d really supposed to be on par with Mewtwo? Is a legendary Pokemon “supposed” to be anything beyond being a special encounter? Its design keys into the fact that many of the Regis have been sealed away long ago in fear of their power, and a lot of the mythology behind them follows occidental gazing at stories like the jewish golem fused with Pokémon’s interest in highlighting shintoism and other folk religions in Japan, especially in the Hokkaido area Sinnoh is based on.
@annaangelic2318 Farfetch'd isnt a legendary trio leader like Regigigas and im not sure what the rest of your paragraph has to do with anything. Regigigas is an inside joke that was never really funny in the first place.
Makes no sense how they gave the genies signature moves in legends arceus while leaving this guy with nothing. The genies arent even from sinnoh man O_o.
Just a little something, but Return has not been in the game since gen 8, so Regigigas would have to use Body Slam, Crush Grip, Mega Punch, Double Edge, Giga Impact or Facade
Damn that’s right major over sight thanks
Double-Edge is still a great STAB option
Learning that the Power Of Friendship(TM) move got Dexited (and presumably the Power Of Fuck You(TM) move) has made my day significantly worse.

Zacian might keep it in check, banded play rough deals a lot, also chi yu punishes its ghost Tera.

They powercrept Regigigas without Slow Start...let that roll off the tongue.
A part of me hopes that they give him a new mega where its literally just him but without the slow start and just like plus 1 all stats
Love the vids and the ideas. ❤❤❤ cant wait to see the next 1
Thank you

Give Gigas Huge power, and he'll start claiming lives without the need of choice band 💀💀
He'll be Calyrex Shadow's new roommate 😂
Deffinetly a huge threat in doubles if it had clear body😊

"Regigigas can move continents"
Its kinda pathetic that a pokemon with such lore have the most useless ability . What was pokemon company thinking?

Gigas does have a signature move; Crush Grip. Its not good though.
