      Hi Patrick Schardt,
It's not just the parents fault... I blame Doctor Spock, and his dang book, that is what ruined America. If ever there was a book that the nuts should have burned it was his. Just telling a child to stop doing something, without giving firm hard consequences is useless. Spank a child in the moment a few times before they're old enough to start school. Then just the threat of a spanking should be enough to stop them, because they know you'll do it. Parents haven't actually been patenting since the 1980's; when mothers had to warehouse their children in daycare so they could return to work. They toted the babies in buckets, instead of holding them in their arms. In the past 40 years children have lost the human connection, empathy, and sympathy, as well conversation, and consequences for their actions. Look up when walking around, parents are halfway herding their children along, as they're watching their phones, they can't be bothered to look at their own children, or be in the moment. More than likely the children have life insurance policies on them, so the parents could care less if they live or die. All of this while there are childless couples out there that would give everything they have for the blessing of a child. 🤷‍♀️Go figure.
      👵☮️🖖

There was a steakhouse in the town where I used to live whose owner had very strong opinions about certain things, including disruptive children. He ordered a family out because they let their kids run around and bother the other diners. They sued. He won. Kinda petty but understandable. Some people need to teach their children better. And need to stop treating employees like free babysitters, especially when a lot of those people are the types that if you tell the kids not to run will go off like "don't you dare tell my precious baby what to do, you're not his/her parent."

@@kaylapounds1359I love working at Dollar Tree. We've freely babysat as many as 10 children in a day when their parents would drop them off and eventually come back for them. *Eventually*. We actually had to call CPS on one dad because they'd be there when we opened and might be back by 3 or 4 (depending on what lesson these homeschoolers had to learn fRoM eXpErIeNcE). Every day. And when we changed our hours to open later and close sooner on Sundays, he got into a confrontation with the manager who did open-to-close Sundays, let me tell you the spicy language and bad Google reviews we got after that. It's not that the kids were bad, per se, but he also wouldn't feed them or beung them with anything to play with so we were constantly having to call the cops about theft. I finally did a non-emergency report online "because the cops haven't shown up once in the 3 months it's been happening so here's the list of some of the merchandise and food these unsupervised kids have consumed since May 13th" which got the cops to show up and then CPS involved. But the only thing that came out of it was we got bad Google reviews and the kids had to start splitting up their time at other stores in the strip mall. At least most other parents will pretend to be shopping or limit it to just a few hours. They're technically all trespassed from property but bEcAuSe ThEy"rE cHiLdReN neither security nor the police do anything about it. This is what happens when parents live on unincorpated and and fReEdOm

When I was little my family was friends with a nice family who owned a chinese buffet place. The owners son was roughly my age so the rule was we could play after we finished our food but had to be aware of other guests and staff and there was no running allowed. If the restaurant was busy or either mom told us to sit down we had to listen or no ice cream after dinner. That place sadly closed down a long time ago but its where I tried actual hot tea for the first time (with about 8 sugar packets😂) and started my love of tea at around 5 years old.

The ending had me dying!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I absolutely freaking HATE parents that treat stores & restaurants like a playground and don’t care what kind of property damage their crotch goblin causes or any injuries that the kid gives staff. My co-worker got her wrist broken trying not to spill hot coffee on a toddler who was sprinting towards the exit of our store that lead out into a parking lot with on going traffic! Like the parents didn’t even care the kid was running to go outside and barely cared that my co-worker fell & were more concerned the little snot was about to throw a tantrum since he couldn’t make it passed my co-worker to go outside. They only showed concern when they realized my friend was gripping her wrist in pain. Oh sure NOW you’re worried when you could probably get sued! This kid had also been running around the store for the 30 mins they were there and we asked them to stop too! Honestly my friend should’ve sued the family but she was extremely nice & was more concerned that the toddler hadn’t gotten any hot coffee spilled on him. I was more concerned that the parents didn’t care if he ran out into a parking lot at as toddler!!!!

When I worked for a certain chain restaurant, ages ago, we had a Sat dinner rush & we had a similar incident. Family of 6, parents, grandparents & 2 kids. The oldest was a boy of 8-10 & he was a brat. Running up & down the isle, disturbing other guests & nearly plowing into servers several times. He would take the plastic food trays & slide his baby sister all over the floor or run & jump on the tray & slide. The parents & grandparents didn't do a damn thing but sit,eat & talk. Our manager Donnie was a mountain of a man & had been watching this little shit act a fool. After he ran into a waitress & bumped into other dinners Donnie lost his cool. He stormed over to the table & lit into the parents over not keeping their kid under control, disturbing other guests & being an obnoxious brat. He told them to either get him under control then & there or get out as he'd had it. All of them looked shocked & dad murmured an apology & they sat Jr down between them. They quickly finished their food & left in a hurry. Donnie was our hero as he took no garbage from anyone & backed his crew always.

When my kid was little, he struggled with sitting still to wait for his food at a restaurant.
To prevent him constantly getting down and climbing in all the chairs, trying to walk/run off, etc, I had a strategy.
Either my husband or I would take him outside (the other would stay at the table), find a bench or similar, and tell him he can “run laps” around it.
If he got too rowdy, he had to keep his hand on the bench while running around.
He loved it because there was sun, people, plants, bugs, cars, all sorts to see and talk about.
My husband would then text me when the food arrived, I’d take the kid back in to wash his hands, and by then his batteries were drained enough to sit and eat.

& this is why a lot of places are banning kids of certain ages from coming into the place of business. It's shocking how much has changed in the past 23yrs, with the past 4-5 being the worst.
