It could have even just been a rendering error. I've had it happen a few times myself where, everything shows up fine on the previews while editing, but once you make the real file, it does something weird. I still thought it was funny though. lol

Too bad they weren't a bigger part of the second film; low-key they were one of the best parts of the original!

Hmmm, I suppose it could be assumed that there were other eggs but whereas Nemo's just had one tiny crack in it, the others were so badly damaged the fish inside was no longer viable. But yeah we see one lone egg out on the reef. Perhaps a little strange.
Probably, but if you stop and think, it doesnt make sense that the other kids at school dont seem to have any sibblings given how fishes are born in big groups.

1. How necessary is Remy's presence in this movie? Could he be removed and the script adjusted accordingly?
2. Maybe the clownfish/polar bear romance could be toned down. At least remove the "I love you" bit. While it does make some sense that the two of them would quickly grow attached to each other as sources of comfort their stressful situations (they're both neurotic so they're both stressed), it just doesn't seem right for it to become romantic so quickly.
3. Dory needs to keep her short term memory loss. It defines and shapes her the same way any other disability shapes anyone else (no one can be reduced to their disability, but the disability is still an important part of who they are and shouldn't be removed so easily).
I mean point 1 kinda is what happened with a lot of this film’s characters and set pieces being used in Finding Dory
The scene where Marlin witnesses the horrors of kitchen fish prep reminds of when Sebastian from "the little mermaid" landed on Chef Luis' kitchen and saw him cutting fish.
What I’ve been noticing from these cancelled sequels is that they actually have a lot of neat ideas, so much so that even the actual sequels reuse them.

As a kid (before Finding Dory was announced) i once dreamed that Finding Nemo had a announced sequel in which the story was about Dory getting married with a shark and Marin was absolutely against it and was trying to go against the marriage for fear they'd eat her or something but I never bothered to look for/ watch it since there wasn't any publicity around it, so I just assumed the general public didnt like it and let it rot like for The Black Cauldron. So when they announced Finding Dory back in 2016, people kept on calling it Nemo 2 (as the french title was just Nemo for the first one (The second is also just named Dory)) and one day I finally asked why they called it that as a sequel had already been made for me and this was when I discovered that I took my dreams for reality.
But I think this would have been a great story to work on nonetheless.

Yeaahh Im kinda glad this movie wasn't developed. The long lost sibling/clone/evil twin trope is kind of a cliche, especially with sequels. At least they were able to borrow some things onto Finding Dory

@@thewholecircus It wasn’t even made by WDAS the people behind Zootopia. It was going to be made by Circle 7 Animation which would have the same quality and structure as Disneytoons. Most of the directors and writers also came from Disneytoons.
All the *coral* in these films is beautiful. Shame it's disappearing from the real world.
Scientist AR recording healthy Coral noises around dead/dying coral reefs and it's bringing the fish and life to the corals back. So people are definitely trying.

Man, coral bleaching is sad...also, this scrapped scrip has so much going on! The more simple approach of Find Dory was definitely a better option.

I have to say, when expanding on the fish/ocean universe, all those things seem pretty common, i don't think its a deliberate "we plucked ideas" more as, there are overlapping contexts. like, aquairums, octopus's, *coral*, echo location etc are all pretty standard ocean fare lol.
The script to Finding Nemo 2 is really interesting. Image they make this into a movie, now that would be something.
With some work this script could actually be a movie I'd like to see. It's a bit all over the place, but streamlined and given a stronger focus it's got promise.

While on their own, people would complain and they mightn't be up to the Pixar standard, if only bits and pieces were recycled, moreso then the coincidences that we have now, then it would still be really cool

I found it interesting how the tank with the coral was the same from the real sequel.
The Tank Gang was originally going to have a large role in Finding Dory and would have helped Marline and Nemo get in the Aquarium but they decided not to do go that route because it would have been focusing more on Marlin and everybody else instead of Dory
Definitely sounds like the second studio that studios send sequels to, so they can learn how to storyboard and animate.
I can't stop thinking about how 3 days AFTER you uploaded this video, a planned child in my family (named Remy) was miscarried.
The thumbnail creeped me out when I saw it. Then it really creeped me out when our Remy was cancelled days later.

Another great video, the amount of effort that must have went into finding scenes to display from either movie that were similar to the ones you were taking about, must have been quite the feat! Definitely think it was worth it 💖👏🏻✨ Also nice coral 🐳🐙🌊
I would have prefered this movie, but with 1 change. instead of a new brother, make the adventure be with Nemo, Dori, and Bruce. Giving Bruce a reason to be out there to help with the human diver as he cant fit into the pipes they use to get in. it could have led to some cool moments like if they got attacked and Bruce defends them or the other sharks show up to save the day with Bruce.
I like to think that they keep these scripts in a heavily locked vault like it’s a cursed item and whenever they want to lift a certain story beat they have to put on a hazmat suit.
I kinda like the idea of Nemo finding Marlin and of Marlin getting a bit of a solo adventure, and I love the idea of getting to see more of Nemo as a character. However, I don't really like the idea of Remy. I feel like he would throw off the writing of Nemo's character too much, like sort of making him act out of character. I also think he would get too much in the way of the Nemo and Marlin's relationship.

There was this one time that I asked my mom what if Pixar made a sequel?
We thought it was gonna be Finding Marlin but In reality, we DO have a sequel for Dory. But in this alternate version it felt like that sequel we thought up on but not the entire script. It was more of a story about Marlin having to have hope that Nemo is able to find him and not being over protective all the time. And this right here is more of a fan fic for me to be honest very crazy Indeed!!!

My biggest problem with this script is that it just keeps going ON and ON. like, your 50 min in, and theres like 100 plot lines, and by the 60 min mark, they keep adding more. REALLY glad disney did not go with this sequel, cause It would have bombed badly, becoming one of Disney's bad direct to DVD sequels.

Man, I am glad we got Finding Dory instead of what we may have ended up with. I loved Finding Nemo when I was a kid, and I would have hated this sequel. The whole sibling rivalry and family drama would have ruined the heartwarming father and son bond of Marlin and Nemo that the first movie beautifully established. And my favorite character was Dory, so I would have probably cried if her character changed into not having her short-term memory loss. Her story in Finding Dory is way better and is more like a Finding Nemo movie than this canceled sequel. There were some parts that sounded cool and I would have liked to see those action scenes taking place. And I agree with Dazz, Remy is way better as a rat chef. I would have hated Nemo's brother, Remy when I was young.

Frankly, AMPAS fucked up by not nominating it (and _Your Name.,_ since we're on that subject) for the Best Animated Feature Oscar.
