Can I just say...I have followed Hermitcraft for a couple of years and tbh this season actually feels more *alive* than other seasons! It feels more like a community of friends having the best of times together, evenly spaced with epic builds! I'm enjoying this season so much!
Ya I been watching them all since season 4/5 and this is definitely a stand out excellent season cuz they're embracing the friend group aspect of being on the server together
You're not wrong, I've been following HC ever since the days when people told X he was crazy for using 3 digits in his episode counters (which is a fancy way of saying since season 1 way back in 2012 ish), and season 10 has felt like a really incredible balance of everyone doing their own thing while also interacting and having fun like a server should. Some of the older seasons felt really lonely where each member would just fly off hundreds of blocks and build a mega base, or they'd stay really really local and it would be a bit too claustrophobic, but this season has been a really nice mix of the two
Skizz feeling outclassed by the other hermits is kinda funny because if we go back to season 6, which was Grian's first season, literally the first thing he said in his first hermitcraft video was: "I'm feeling a bit outclassed. These are the hermits. These guys KNOW Minecraft." He genuinely felt like he wasn't good enough to hang with the rest of the hermits. This is GRIAN we're talking about. Believe in yourself, Skizz. You'll do just fine.
This came to my mind as well, and I'm so curious to hear what a hermitcraft podcast will sound like in 3-4 years. I hope Skizz will finally internalise by then that we love him *because* he's Skizz, not because he's perfect.
@@timmasters1195 I am fully aware. I watched his Evo series before I watched hermitcraft. Grian had pretty much never played any version of Minecraft past 1.9 until joining hermitcraft. Even the recap made jokes about it at the time. My point is that Grian, even back then, was an incredibly talented builder and designer. And even he felt like he wasn't good enough for what is arguably the most talent dense bunch of minecrafters on the entire internet. So I think Skizz will be fine.
@@GeneralNickles but i think that's because being a good creative builder doesn't mean much in HC terms, or overall. as for skizz, i've no idea, but i hope it works out for him
I feel like tangos perspective would have been great here. Especially when you guys talk about projects taking a lot longer than you expected. That man has a unique perspective of being locked in a hole for a year
So true lol, I also think etho could offer some kind of comfort as he has the same problem this season with the frogger game bit in general he's much more chill (or at least it appears to be so to us)
A thing to maybe note about Joel is that hes used to the empires etc smps which are usually shorter than the hermitcraft seasons, so he's a crazy fast builder. That and all the stand alone videos he does where he builds something massive in a really short time frame.
Joel is one of the best builders in minecraft. Comparing his best skill to one of your minor skills is unfair to yourself. If he had to compete against Impalse with redstone he also couldn't compete.
Skizzleman- if you’re feeling like an underperformer, think about what you would say to a brand new member of your old team at your previous job. You’re new. Full time content creation might be what you’re born to do, but it doesn’t mean you will be perfect at it right out the gate. Everything you did up to going full time was a hobby. We all get great at our hobbies cause we fit them in a small box of hobby. There are aspects to full time content creation that are creeping in you didn’t know about cause they have to be experienced. You got this buddy!
I find it ironic that Impulse feels he let people down in S9 with his iBuy and the industrial district when ... His dwarven forge was absolutely epic. He stretched so far on that thing. I know he had to crunch at the end, but man, that thing stands out in my memory, and it absolutely fits next to Pearl's alien biome and under Gem's elven kingdom.
Isn't it ironpick??? Just starting this episode and I could not agree with you more with this. The amount of absolute dedication in this man: pushing through rough patches during live streams building the beauty of the dwarven forge- while also getting suggestions & creative input from his community:) ! The industrial district was very satisfying to watch him put together over the span of S9, especially speaking as someone who doesn't understand complex Redstone farms/builds !! Watching Tango grind Redstone for DO2 during live streams last season as well was extremely motivating. Love the passion the hermits put into everything they create; these two & this podcast every week is such a boost of inspiration !
For what its worth, I liked iBuy. It was my first time watching hermitcraft ever and I loved his book shop and even tho this isn’t really iBuy, I loved his enchantment shop at the beginning of the season
@@rachelkim4457 The enchantment shop was so much fun. The whole Lava Walker enchantment he worked on with the community had me laughing so hard. Every few weeks during the whole season somebody would ask about it.
I don't comment on Hermit videos.. I'm more of a silent lurker. I've watched since season 6 and this to me is by far the BEST season I've seen. I love all the interactions between Hermits, the games, the pranks. You guys really seem more comfortable with each other, more comfortable with branching out in your build styles. Its amazing to see!
Impulse, since you brought up having Joel next door; I've been thinking for a while now that you should consider inviting Joel into the cyberpunk city, at least for a building or two. It will both help you complete the city, and tie your bases together a little more. And I've loved seeing you and Bdubs working together, and seeing you + Joel and Joel + Bdubs, work together too would be real cool. Plus, he and Bdubs have 'beef' right now, and making them work together will be funny.
@impandskizzpodcast HEY, HEY Imp I know you're reading this; @jef_3006 has had a wonderful idea. When you have the time please consider doing what Jef said thanks.
Mumbo proved to all of the hermits in S9 that you can drop off the map cold turkey and STILL watch your channel grow, and everyone took that lesson to heart for the best, most authentic season yet.
While I don't disagree, Mumbo does have over 9 million followers, so taking a hit from the algorithm for a hiatus still reaches a lot more people than it would for channels with less followers.
@@sambuma I would agree that Mumbo entered his hiatus from a position of privilege. Grian pretty much said as much. That gave him the courage he needed to give it a try. IF the algorithm punished him to the extent that conventional wisdom suggested, then he could afford to take the hit without bankrupting himself, literally. Many other hermits couldn’t afford to take that risk. But it didn’t. He came back and the algorithm rewarded his return with a huge surge a viewership, confounding the conventional wisdom. He paved the way for others like Etho, Keralis, Ren, Iskall, and more to take a break.
@@Phlucious Well, not etho. Etho was already on break due to important things in his life, he joined that season super late, people were already on megabases when he punched his first tree
I think I'd only point at Mumbo as an example of how someone can learn to be a builder His channel is so huge that he's not a good example of what you can get away with
@@Phlucious I don't think Mumbo was anywhere near the risk of bankruptcy. He is making millions - I fail to believe he hasn't invested this money properly to be independently wealthy and now just does things he wants and he is passionate about, not things he has to.
Definitely, I've been watching since season 1 and this season is the most I've been invested in and enjoying HC in a fairly long time, everyone's doing their own cool things but they're also hanging out and getting up to nonsense together, it's great
@@classic_jamI liked the fact that 8 was so short people just focused on being social, but maybe my perspective being mostly Grian and Mumbo is why I think that. But yah, it didn't feel like hermitcraft, it felt like a palette cleanser.
Impulse I just wanna say as an artist, I kinda get the concern that you feel like you're promising something to your audience and letting them down. On the flip side, as an audience member, it doesn't feel like an unfulfilled promise - it feels like an ambition you never got to see fully realized for yourself. I have enjoyed what you and Bdubs have done so far, and im here for the journey, not the destination. If season 10 ends before that vision is fully realized, I would feel bad for you two but it's not the let down for myself you think it is. While I believe you when you say what you're making will be worth the wait, if that's all I was interested in I would just come in at the end - the process is inspiring and entertaining as well
Im not a long term watcher of Hermitcraft, I only started midway through last season, but one thing I can speak about is how wonderful the interactions are between you all this season. I’ve been watching multiple povs and my favorite thing is seeing the interactions between different perspectives. Of course the builds are amazing, but I find myself rewatching the more community focused episodes the most.
Skizz, don't worry about your skills - you are the Everyman for every Minecraft player who's ever daydreamed about being invited to join Hermitcraft. We're vicariously following your journey and cheering all the way. And Impulse, the attention to detail on your builds makes them really come alive, however and whenever you get there.
I don’t feel like Hermitcraft is dying at all. In my mind, the time between your episodes is evidence that a lot of care and effort went into the episodes; and each day that passes without a Hermitcraft video dropping is a day I’m eagerly looking forward to the next drop. What we do isn’t our best when we are forcing ourselves past the point of burnout.
Comparison is the thief of joy impulse. I think it's important to remember that Joel doesn't stream ever. Therefore, he has minimal distractions so he can grind. Plus he also spends a ridiculous amount of diamonds at the shopping district so he has quick and easy access to niche materials. And as far as I am aware he's still using litematica. (This is not a hate on Joel he's my fav). I definitely think an Impulse/Bdubs/Joel collaboration on the city would be fantastic. Already Joel's touch with the graffiti walls is fantastic. No matter how fast or slow the cyberpunk city develops it'll be brilliant.
my advice for content creators : think about yourself as a Chef in a kitchen, you make great meals that people enjoy and come back for, when you close your restaurant for a while and open it later, people that enjoyed your meals will come again. The only creators that have to fear the tredmill are those that make fastfood content, 100 days videos , reaction stuff like that. Quality has the right to take a break, quantity does not
Seriously, I never miss a Code Bullet episode. I get so happy whenever he uploads, and I have never once been angry with him that he took 3 months to post something else. Quality takes time. When quality shows up, you enjoy it. I understand that the financial side might feel a lot more like a treadmill, however.
It doesn't matter about the right to take a break etc, you don't get paid if you don't create in most cases. If you are lucky enough to be full time rather than freelance that's slightly less true, but you'll still lose your job if you don't produce. If your videos do insane numbers or you have another source of wealth that's fine of course. Even so, you're relying on your audience to wait and remember.
I don't know if it's still as bad as it was years ago, but even with quality content the algorithm can screw you. They take a break, then when they come back TH-cam (and other platforms) show your content to less people. your views take a hit till you build that audience back up so that it start showing up on peoples feeds again. Hell I have to look up videos by Keralis, Scar, and even Cleo anytime there is a gap. So to say THE ONLY ones that have to fear the treadmill... is overlooking how the platforms work
@@timmasters1195 not correct, revenue does not accure just in the fiorst week of a video, quality creators with a big library of videos, can surely take a break without starving !
@@NateCarolus419 that is also not fully correct and missinterpretation, the loss in views comes from the loss of walk by viewers, your real fans and core viewers will still watch it and shown it from the algorythm. it´s thze ranom viewers that you loose the first 1-2 videos after a break. if you count that as a real loss, your only doing it for the money and not for the quality content and your fans ;)
One thing that the community vibe changed for me was that I now actively seek out more hermits content. When I started watching it was season 6 and I only watched Grian. Then season 7 came and I watched Grian and occasionally Mumbo and Iskall (Due to them being big in Grian’s episodes due to Sahara). Season 8 I went back to just Grian and I kinda just stopped watching. This season everyone is so involved with everybody else that it encouraged me to go and watch all the hermits. Hermitcraft used to be something I watched when it was there. But now its something I actively seek out and anticipate. There is usually something new to watch daily and both the streams and the videos are always my priority. (Also everyone making interactive bases and shops is really cool)
Magic Mountain has been great because it's forced me to watch other hermits because I just gotta know what's going on over there. Genuinely loving the interaction, and the way the bases are getting knit together
And Skizz, when it comes to Texas Hold'Em, don't hold back! The other Hermits don't water down their talents, they bring them, challenging you to lift yours. So return that favour. Let them learn from your best. Also, Keralis will make you rich.
It's not about whether he would hold back. Poker is the type of game where if you're actually good but you're at a table where your opponents don't know what they're doing, you literally can't play your best because a massive part of being good at playing poker is reading people who are also good at playing poker. It's hard to anticipate or lead somebody when they don't know their head from their ass.
@@yuugur666 I mean, a skilled poker player can't play their full literal best, sure, but they're still _much better_ than an unskilled opponent. There's a reason why pros like Howard Lederer could make their living grinding fish at high stakes No Limit Hold'em, or why back before Black Friday folks like Tom Dwan could make big money multi-tabling online poker. Occasionally they'll have an opponent that gets lucky and hits one of their outs on the river when they probably should have folded at the flop, but more often, that opponent won't hit an out and the more skilled player will take them.
Impulse: the Mona Lisa was never finished before its creator died. Despite this its a world renowned art piece. TH-cam is art and you guys are artists. Some masterpieces are never finished and masterpieces take time and can't be massproduced. Do what you gotta do to survive, but don't feel like your underperforming. Skizzleman: any interaction you are involved with feels like you belong. You bring a kind of wholesome kindness to all interactions and have videos with such a unique style that this season would feel like something is missing without you. I was first properly introduced to you in the life series and wondered why you weren't involved with hermitcraft from the start.
exactly this. hermitcraft has become more about the community than the exceptional builds, and skizz lives and breathes community. he may not be the best builder, but he gives it a shot every time and makes every interaction he's in a better one
Honestly, I quit hermitcraft sometime around season 8 and didn’t get back into it till the season 10. I watch hermitcraft not for the mega builds but for the hermit interactions. I have loved how much organic shenanigans this season has. The court case was so hilarious!
As an avid binge youtuber I love hermitcraft and feel like the phrase “its dying” is very hard to construe. I started with mumbo and moved to grian, their video output slowed in later seasons so i jumped to other hermits, and more and more. You have a whole server of incredible talents and theres always new content coming out. Just as you talked about the guess the build videos being above and beyond methods of teamwork and compromise, hermitcraft itself is a prone example. For every week you spend refining your own video, you can guarantee that Doc or X or Joe or Cleo have got something put to keep the community engaged
What I have learned is that, the Hermitcraft is one big family. I don't care if not every little detail gets finished, I just want to watch you play. Skizz you are living up to every expectation I had and more. Impulse, I see a massive improvement in your happiness level which makes your channel more FUN to watch. Rock on guys.
@@laineywright2696 You’re right about impulse. He does seem much happier, relaxed and more playful. He has definitely changed. He’s the one I’ve watched the most out of all TH-camrs. It was actually him that I found skizz and then everyone else.
Hermitcraft is my main entertainment for winding down, HC AND other content hermits put out. Cant wait for the Twitch Con content coming up. I love this season, but I also loved past seasons. When hermits take breaks, Im happy they take care of themselves and happy when they return to my screen. I dont own them and they dont own making content to me. This content is free to watch after all! I'm grateful I found this space on TH-cam that gave me so many many hours of fun and inspiration so thank you, you're amazing and I wish you all the best for every future break or project.
I love this season. Especially the 2 new members. There's been more interactions, and, like many others, I'm all for it. Keep on, but take a break sometimes. Battery recharge is important.
20 seconds in and the “that’s my best friend!” Energy is in full go mode! In a world of content overload, thank you both for making me excited to check for your notifications
One of my favorite moments with regard to Cub's incredible grind game was the diamond ore pillar "war". DocM came in with the entire diamond ore contents of the Perimeter, ready to sweep the competition, and looked over at the pillar of diamond BLOCKS that said "Cub's Capital", and said "oh no".
About the "Dreading seeing people saying that Hermitcraft Season 10 is dying" feeling... Me personally, ever since I started watching in Season 6, I've NEVER viewed Hermitcraft as the server and the seasons themselves. For me, it's the group itself. Like, when I see GIGGS streaming Phasmophobia, or I see another set of Guess the Build videos, or I see a new Life Series, or when I see Iskall's new Vault Hunters season... to me, that's Hermitcraft, too. Whether there are people who aren't necessarily Hermits in there or whatever, that doesn't matter, it's still hosted by or involves multiple Hermit members. For me, Hermitcraft isn't just that singular Minecraft server anymore. It's not even just Minecraft anymore. It's the group as a whole. Because of that... genuinely, even if the main Hermitcraft server doesn't have any videos on it for, let's just say, a full week or month or something like that... doesn't matter to me, I'm here to watch the friend group and enjoy the things they make But hey, that's just me and my two cents
Waz up homie buddies! I found Hermitcraft in season 7. Lost interest after that until this season. Couldn't pin down why but now I think it's the chill vibes and focus on interactions with everyone instead of the completion of mega builds. I absolutely love how the season has played out so far and hope all the hermits know it. Please don't be hard on yourselves. You are amazing!
I feel like Skiz has fit in perfectly this season to the point where i miss him so so much when i rewatch other seasons bc it feels so weird and empty without him
I have been watching since the beginning of Season 6, and I think that this has been my favorite season, not just because we finally got SKIZZ!!!!, but especially because of the emphasis with hermit connections and collaboration. Also, I can safely say that for me, at least, I am ALWAYS excited when I see a new hermit video out NO MATTER how long its been between videos. I love the enthusiasm and optimism for the next few months and I can't wait to see what emerges!
I started watching season 7 and have gone back to 5 and 6. I love the vibe of this season and everybody focusing on interactivity over grinding builds that look amazing, but are ultimately hollow endeavors. I can see pictures/videos of amazing builds by throwing a stone on TH-cam. I don't continue coming back to Hermitcraft because of the builds or flashy editing; what makes HC so great is the chemistry between all of you and the fact that friendships seem genuine. And the building, etc. is a bonus. With the range of playstyles and personalities amongst the Hermits, y'all have become like 90% of my media consumption lol. Regardless if a Hermit is super social and shenanigans-based or a more introverted player mostly doing their own thing, our joy starts with feeling your joy in making videos. Your passion sparks our passion!
I went from just watching etho, grian and mumbo (etho was my first point of contact for HC) in season 7 to now watching almost every hermit now in season 10. Seeing you all become closer has made the the server more enjoyable. Just keep having fun and we will too
I have been a fan of hermitcraft since season 6, this season is different in a good way, I really like the chilling we have this season, for me seing that you guys taking things slowly making me think that you are more relaxed because I saw mumbo burning out last seasons, you Impulse not enjoying building because you challenged yourself by trying to finish a big build in a short time and that killed your joy in the game and it was noticable, because you wasn't taking your time to breath and relax, and knowing that you thought that you let us down because the vision wasn't completed that was painful knowing that you are stressed about it and you shouldn't because we love what ever you do as soon as you enjoy it, but this season is good because y'all are more relaxed than ever I feel like. To me seing you being good friends and have fun with each other is what truly make me stick with hermitcraft the most, and I also enjoy seeing your creativity and awesomeness in the game as soon as y'all are relaxed and enjoy what you do.
The castle takeover videos were great. It was also clear that there was a ton of time and effort put into it. But what really draws viewers to you guys is your personalities and the fun you create. We're loving this season because of how chill and fun it's been. We feed off of the energy you all bring. Pacing yourself is a huge part of that
57:50 Skizz, for the esteem section it would be cool if you did a throwback to the affirmation station from the life series. Have a randomizer for all of the different hermit names, and blank books to write something positive for the hermit that is randomly selected. Then, at the end of the season each hermit can be presented with shulkers of the messages that were written.
I do hope that reddit post never gets made because this season has been amazing and it doesn't feel like its dying at all. The collabs and interactions have been amazing, and I think you guys are incredibly lucky and also that you guys have put in a lot of work to get to where you are that you CAN make those one-off videos rather than stick to the main series grind, and you have a great group you're part of!
Long time Hermitcraft fan here. This season has been fantastic. Cant pin down why, I also think it is about to explode. In a good way. All the games are a big part of it. Poker, Ravager Run, Hungry Hermits, etc. The Cyber Punk City and all the games going in with it, bringing people together and interactions between Hermits are so fun to watch. Alongside the amazing builds, so much inspiration. The Art Museum bringing in Fan Art, hilarious moments, the court case, Doc and the Ore snatcher leading to sky block. Too much to list on what does it for me with this season. If I had to say one thing I would change…more…I WANT MORE!!! lol.
I love that you guys can be so honest about your jobs! This season has been fantastic! Keep in mind that your viewers completely understand that life comes before work. Edit: we watch because of your personalities, not so much how much work you guys can get done or check off to do lists.
Been watching hermitcraft since s4 and I’ve seen it evolve and grow since then and s10 has been the most fun and freeing one yet with the hermits taking it easy and allowing natural interactions and more collabs plus the closer bases is someone that just works so well as each hermit is doing their episode they can see how much every other hermit has built and it’s the whole togetherness
Met you two today at Twitchcon, and all I gotta say is you aren't underperforming in my eyes. Sure, as Skizz said, HC has been a little stretched thin with all the collabs and projects going on, but I'm just glad you are all having fun with each other. Pico Park, Among Us, Guess the Build, Phasmo, Hermitcraft... they're all funny in their own ways, and I love them all to bits.
This season I expanded the number of hermits I watch. I have the exact same time as I did during other seasons so I think the fact that I'm able to watch more is because the interactions make watching more videos more digestible. I understand you guys want to get your projects done; having your own build goals is good and a large portion of your viewership on youtube doesn't watch twitch or doesn't have twitter and doesn't take part in the hermitcraft community so I get that you have to cater to them too. I really appreciate you guys and your effort to time manage everything you want to do to provide content to all the types of fans in your community. It really means a lot.
I know you said going back to grass roots for this season has been hard for you, but i do think that it has been incredibly successful. I've enjoyed the pace of the season, the episodes and the content coming out, etc. I've loved it. And it's given space for people to experiment and enjoy each other and that's been thrilling to watch.
You are amazing Skizz!!! I often laugh out loud whenever you're in a video (yours or others). I definitely think you're a fantastic addition to the Hermits.
I personally loved HC10 and especially the long period of really dynamic server- interactions. Around the same time as Season- Start, i was diagnosed with cancer and during the really nasty months especially until july i watched LITERALLY every single main channel video produced from a hermit. You guys were an absolut blessing, i did not even watch minecraft contend before and found you guys by accident. The vibes, the creativity, the personalities- i love what you guys do! And i almost regret not having the time anymore to continue watching everybodys POV (though not having cancer anymore is great). So much love and even more respect to you guys, you really provide a type of entertainment i have never found anywhere.
I could not be prouder of you Skizz going full time. I have watched you and Impy since Nqked and Scared season 1 so I know how hard you have worked to get. So proud of you…great job
"seven and a half months into the season. I literally remember running off to find magic mountain!" when i tell you my thought process was almost exactly the same, word for word-
TL;DR: Skizz is doing great! I'll be honest, I was skeptical when Skizz was invited to be a Hermit. But after watching these past few months, I've realized that there have been people that joined that shifted the dynamic of the server. Grian is a good example. Skizz has been another, and it kinda surprised me.
I think he's doing an amazing job at reminding people that Hermitcraft isn't all about mega builds and projects but about the community aspect. He's not the best builder, and that's 1000% okay because he's one of the *best* at bringing folks together and being down for anything, which is the pillar of this season
The interesting thing about building Maslow’s pyramid on the server is it’s actually a really good explanation of the journey you are on. In a way, you are going thru the steps as you build them on the server. If you think about each level as it relates to your hermitcraft experience, Love/belonging and esteem will fall into place. You just need to work thru the process. All about perspective.
Honestly guys, I have been happy with all the interaction with everyone on the server. That's been more fun than big impressive builds, and I for one am not worried about seeing everything finished. Watching the process, and the interruptions and the fun you have along the way, is what it's all about, not seeing a finished product.
I’m a long time hermitcraft fan and I can tell you that, at least for me, I have my moments of coming and going. Recently, things have been a bit slow, so I haven’t been paying much attention. I’m also really busy, so that makes it difficult as well. BUT, I never unsubscribe and I always look at the titles and thumbnails to see when the resurgences happen, and they always do! You guys are great, and I always look forward to these podcasts. I listen every week on my commute and it makes the time fly by. Thank you so much for everything you do!!
this is my first hermitcraft season ive watched. i absolutely love it and i love watching a bunch of yalls povs. ur interactions with each other are so fun and all your builds and redstoning are awesome too!!
Impulse, never feel you are "letting us down." Your content is always fun. And we feel your stress when you are burnt out. Your content is best when you are in full "playful mode." Speaking for myself, I watch to soak in that joy you pump out when your inner child comes out to play. I leave your content feeling happier than when the content started. Keep doing you! 🖤💛 it's your vibe that we come for. Your builds are amazing, but the building is a vehicle to project that energy.
From a long time fan of hermitcraft and your content specifically, I can say confidently that we don't remember the unfinished builds or the interiors that didn't happen, we don't feel any disappointment that these things didn't get done. What we remember and think back to often is ALWAYS the interactions. Impulse brought up the mycelium resistance and I guarantee anyone who watched that season immediately remembered all their fond memories of those interactions, it was so so memorable because everyone involved in that was so obviously enjoying the silliness. We love the stuff that brings the hermits together and makes them laugh and come up with hilarious ideas and do pranks. We just wanna see you guys giggling and having a good time. There aren't many builds that can do that, so they arent what's important in the season. I know builds are all that's left when the world download comes around, but it's not what we watch the content for.
I love everyone's building skills but the thing that makes me laugh and lightens my day is the Hermit interactions. I feel like I am watching old friends relaxing and teasing each other. You bring joy by being your wonderful selves. You really can't fake that.
I dont plan to ever be a full-time content creator, but man, do i want it as a hobby and little side gig. The joy and happiness you guys bring is so amazing and its refreshing to see in a world where everyone shoots for money and headlines
I think part of the challenge especially with Impulse talking about unfulfilled projects not being completed is that there is no predefined end date. We have no idea when its ending, and so there's timeframe to make smaller goals to accomplish his (or any Hermits) larger goals. I felt so bad for Tango in season 7 built Among Us and the season ended right away and nobody wants to see that happen again. I understand the wanting to end the season when it feels organically like the time to end. But it does seem like it would be helpful even to the Hermits to declare at the start of the season when the season finale will be.
Agreed, though difficult. They often use Mojang development to drive when the season ends, so the new season can start with exploring the new game content. Hermitcraft is, after all, a Minecraft server. 🤷♀️
I felt like season 8 & 9 was filled with Hermits apologizing and fans telling them they don't need to. We all need time in our lives and get burned out and sick and go on vacations, so we all totally get it and understand. We also know how big some of the projects are, but we are there for the builds AND the personalities. I felt like season 10 was possibly a response to listening to their audiences and realizing WE don't need a megabuild a week. That was a deadline they gave themselves. We just want to watch talented Minecrafter's do their thing while goofing off in a community. There are a lot of good and entertaining ways to structure a video around whatever you have been doing, even if it's just gathering sand or helping your neighbor. Please DON'T give yourselves a minimum number of interactions task.
Having more of the interactions has made S10 my favourite so far, like S8 the interactions even if that makes sense. Like yes the builds are epic, hermit craft really does feel like the place of “I’m here to go big or go home, and I’m already home” Yes it is a big Change from previous seasons but I do think it is a good thing - because the builds are growing slower and it’s allowing you all time to hang out and have fun with your friends and that is the heart that has always made hermit craft special
I personally love the variety of play styles and skillsets in HC. Skizz has brought another level of entertainment to the group. He genuinely cracks me up.
Ive been watching hermitcraft since season 6, and even in this slight summer lull, it's still super fun to watch because you guys are still collabing even without the massive builds. The games have provided a great medium for entertaining videos, but im definitely excited to see the builds kick off in the fall and winter months!
Guys, you have developed such a loyal fan base who will want to watch you regardless of what your content involves. Being a part of hermitcraft enables a lot of interaction which brings entertainment. The success you're having I believe is based more on your willingness to work with others, not just because of Minecraft.
You've perfectly described burnout. It's the reason why I can't seem to open minecraft anymore. I have the ideas and I have the inspiration and I know what to build but I open that world and just stare at the empty space unable to actually do something with the same fervor I used to.
Skizz's interactions with the other hermits has made it feel so grounded and shows that they're all friends. The pure excitement that Skizz and others had when Doc that he was going to build Texas Hold Em was amazing to see.
This was a great podcast! Good to hear some real life behind the scenes info and get hyped for what’s to come! I think it’s been a great season so far and you all offer plenty of content outside of HC as well that keeps us hyped in general since it’s you guys we enjoy hanging with, not just HC only content. Keep having the fun along the way as you share your work side to the benefit of us all!
I have watched a good few seasons now. I really enjoy the way this season has went. Love all the interactions with the hermits and the laughs too. I do watch so many of the hermits videos. Keep up the amazing work that you are do.
you guys have quickly become my main source of youtube entertainment and this season especially has been super fun :) the vibes are immaculate and the builds are amazing so don’t be so hard on yourselves !!!
I just wanna say, I seriously love your stuff and it brings me so much comfort. I know its being used as a more colloquial term but trauma is medical diagnosis, flashbacks are a symptom and by using it casually, you are changing the meaning of those words, which makes it harder for people trying to communicate what's going on for them. It's really great these words are being destigmatized but its important to remember what they actually mean. IDK, I really love the content you guys make, it feels like such a community that's so friendly and safe and accepting, but yh, just wanted to raise that :)))
I don't think it's the reality. If you need a break your fans are loyal enough to stick around for your return. I think you guys both build a community that would do this. We're here for the long haul!! ❤
I can't wait to see more from Hermitcraft Season 10, it feels like so much is unfolding and more things keep happening! All the minigames, the goat horns... Mumbo is building... it's unbelievable!
I LOVE that this season is more about spending time together than BIG builds. I also enjoy that it's not all Imp and Skizz on the Hermitcraft server. I know that you guys have your crew of people on there that you usually hang out with which is awesome and I'm glad you two aren't glued to the hip. Also, if you got everything done super fast...then what? Skizz, you're going though the pyramid AS YOU BUILD THE PYRAMID. I can't remember who it was, Cub or Beef that you said had their crap together and are living top tier of the pyramid already, go ask that hemit what they'd like to see in certain tiers, what do those tiers mean to them (and we don't have to see it if it gets too personal). You guys are doing amazing, I'll be watching MCC from home tomorrow with my daughter. HAVE FUN nad don't worry about the number you get.
Doing videos like Phasmo and among us, even guess the build, probably helps with burn out as well. You gotta mix it up occasionally to keep yourself engaged. I also love that so many of the Hermits are adults with spouses and kids and outside responsibilities, so they all understand when you need to step back and focus on your family. The members of Hermit craft are what keep me coming back year after year. They all seem like such genuine nice people who enjoy and respect each other. There are almost 30 Hermits, I don't watch every video from everyone, but I genuinely enjoy them all as people and characters. They've built such a wonderful place to come visit as a fan.
I think this is by far the best season. The base builds are cool but the interactions between the hermits and the mini game competitions are what I'm here for.
I started watching Hermitcraft in Season 5, though I only watched Mumbo's videos at the time. I didn't really start getting into Hermitcraft until the Season 6 Civil War and have been an avid fan since. Season 10 has felt different from all past seasons. It feels more like a community project rather than a bunch of individuals doing their own thing. A pretty big part of that was the introduction of Proximity Chat back in the later parts of Season 7. Prior to that, it was a whole ordeal to start an interaction with someone else, but with Proximity, you can just fly up to someone and start a conversation. It made interactions more organic. Another major reason was everyone in Season 10 decided not to build massive bases anymore, or at least, not make that the objective of the Season. There are a few larger bases, but they are still smaller and are going up slower than they did in past seasons. This leaves more time for interactions with fellow Hermits. But most of all, the biggest change was the Hermits deciding to make this season all about coming together to have fun together as a group of friends, rather than a bunch of people that all happen to be on the same server. Everything from the Hermits fishing with Grian to Cub building his massive Maze are all centered around coming together and interacting with each other. The Hermits aren't a bunch of strangers playing on the same server, they are all good friends with each other and are at their best when they work together doing literally anything. That's what makes this season special. Oh, also Skizz and Joel joining are pretty cool too :)
As someone who is new to content creating man do I feel like my work load quadruples over night and I already work a full time 10 hr m-f job my days are planned from 5am to 10pm for every second, this podcast hit so close to my heart thank you, you two are truly inspiring people, also I’m pretty sure skizz is my lost dad, me being someone who studied chandler Bing to be funny for others, skizz is definitely my lost dad lol
Hey Imp and Skizz! Your voices are how I start my mornings, no matter what! I got lectured and woke up late this morning all while feeling horrible): yet somehow you too never fail to cheer me up! Walking to class with a smile on my face now! Thank you both so very much!:D your both such wonderful humans and deserve everything you have❤
This is my first season of Hermitcraft and I absolutely love the community part of the episodes. I found you guys via the life series, now I watch everyone’s videos. I also love the guess the build videos. Thank you for all the entertainment you all provide.
As someone who got to partake in the drum corps experience back in 2017-2018 (SCV! such a blast) I absolutely love how your creative backgrounds were sparked by drum corps and music in general. It makes me look forward to hearing about your creative processes and how those perspectives have changed with years of successful professional work. It's just such a unique take on these things and I always look forward to hearing you guys speak on these topics.
This season has been sooo much fun thus far with all the great interactions and moments! I think the fact that it feels like it started only a few weeks ago leaves no doubt in my mind that the season will continue for a while, with the best yet to come. But for now I wish you lots of fun in San Diego :)
Everyone has already echoed my thoughts in the comments, which are that we’re proud of you and are here for your journey. But specifically for this moment 59:45 - my mom had to teach our cousin from Sweden about “BOGO” and “browse”, she really liked those English words!
There are many reasons on why creators create content and there are many reasons as to why a viewer watches a creator. I can’t talk on different creators’ creations; however, I can talk on why I watch content. Being in the military for over 20 years, being married for also over 20 years and now going through a divorce, you would think that I am one that is surrounded by people and have many interactions. The truth is, I have a very lonely lifestyle. My work takes me from home, being in the military we are told what we must do and most days our days are planned for us. I come to watch TH-cam not for the builds, but the “Family” aspect that the creators that I watch have. The laughs, the smiles, the energy and yes even the pain that you all share together, I live vicariously through that. I tend to click off the videos that are just solo. Unless it’s a comedic that does stand up, but I digress. You each bring joy to my life with your interactions that you do with the other hermits in your videos. The phasmo streams that you do together. The one offs that you collab with others on. And the list goes on. But the common fact is that each of these videos is y’all having fun with family and friends. I laugh right along with y’all vs at you. It’s you, being you. and not trying to be something that you’re not. I don’t care what it is that I am watching from what y’all have created. Sure, I look forward to different aspects, but I don’t get upset that one series ends or misses a week or is something completely new. I just care that I am there for what ever it is that y’all are doing at that moment. Y’all get me through the suck of life that many don’t see just because I wear a uniform or used to wear a wedding ring doesn’t mean it’s all green grass. Y’all water the grass around me and help bring the green back to the good things in life.
We as the viewers definitely understand that life gets busy and crazy and so sometimes videos are slower! I've been so busy lately that its like "gosh when do I have time to watch my hermitcraft videos?" So if i sometimes struggle to keep up with just watching 30 min videos, i can imagine the HOURS that went into making it
im watching this after seeing all 6 episodes of castle crashers. You guys smashed it, all of you, Ive been watching hermitcraft since season 5. Its been only this season where ive been following all of you guys and it cause of these "one offs" i got to see your guys personalities shine, and I've been glued to everything that group does every video, plus trying find time for the rest of hermitcraft ive come to know and love. You guys are leaving us with us a good problem, so much good content to watch. thank you
Skizz is the reason I now watch and subscribe to many other hermits that I didn’t before. I love that everyone is working and playing more with each other. He brought out the kid in everyone. More relaxed. More playful. More willing to push things towards adult friendly rather than toddler friendly if that makes sense. Stay humble Skizz because that’s what makes you so special. 😜
Let me just say, Giggs videos are some of my favorite to watch and always leave me falling over in laughter. I am so excited to see scar in a "guess the build"
i am disabled and find it difficult to stay positive but you guys, and your streams withs giggs is a comfort for me, there are time i'll go weeks without catching up on HC but watch everything and vods, i return back to your older streams when you're on a break and love the longer HC season as it gives time to have so many little stories and creative builds. i think because of the type of content you guys create there's a lot of us that won't be going anywhere, also, skizz your skillset is growing so much in time, and i love watching that with you.
Guys, take your own advice and remember that comparison is the thief of joy. If you do want to compare, consider the fact that not only does Joel not have kids, but he also has a wife that has the same stay-at-home job as him - he has all the time in the world to invest into Hermitcraft. You guys have families, commitments, up until recently skizz had a job - what you do manage to get done is so inspiring and impressive.
That said, they could probably get a look into his workflow and see what makes him fast, beyond just spending more time on the server. You can't really replace his timezone of the server being mostly empty when he's on
Hearing Impulse say he thought the city would be complete in six months is mind blowing to me. Even for a server that is notorious for making amazing builds in short amounts of time, that just seems like an impossible goal. I really hope you're not beating yourself up over realizing it might now take more than another six months; the amount of detail, skill, and thought that you are putting into this build is wildly amazing and it will take a while longer to complete. You're doing great though, I have loved being along this journey to see you build and grow the city alongside Bdubs.
I only started watching this season but I did go back and watch some of season seven and the full season 8 and I definitely agree with you!
Some of the older seasons felt really lonely where each member would just fly off hundreds of blocks and build a mega base, or they'd stay really really local and it would be a bit too claustrophobic, but this season has been a really nice mix of the two
Well… you must’ve not witnessed the chaos of season 7… if you didn’t you really should go back and watch it… that whole season was fricken crazy 🤣🤣🤣
@@loganmiller4919True, but the voice mod makes a HUGE difference. The voice mod was only added in the last few months of S7.
Skizz feeling outclassed by the other hermits is kinda funny because if we go back to season 6, which was Grian's first season, literally the first thing he said in his first hermitcraft video was:
"I'm feeling a bit outclassed. These are the hermits. These guys KNOW Minecraft."
He genuinely felt like he wasn't good enough to hang with the rest of the hermits.
But Grian back then didn't know Minecraft very well. Go and watch his content, you'll see. He was behind in that respect.
I had forgotten about that! Every new Hermit has said something to this sentiment.
That man has a unique perspective of being locked in a hole for a year
So true lol, I also think etho could offer some kind of comfort as he has the same problem this season with the frogger game bit in general he's much more chill (or at least it appears to be so to us)
@@ApashePelican Etho has also been doing Vault Hunters SMP off camera
I’m hoping they bring on tango to do a twitch con recap podcast
😂😂
A thing to maybe note about Joel is that hes used to the empires etc smps which are usually shorter than the hermitcraft seasons, so he's a crazy fast builder. That and all the stand alone videos he does where he builds something massive in a really short time frame.
Not to mention he has an insane work ethic too, at least from what I can tell
We are, indeed, happy you left the intro in.
Btw, Impulse, you missed the offending hair.
His hair is very beautiful
I loved spending time there in the world download. It was epic
@@Kiwimarauder omg the world download was so cool to explore !! The bases looked even bigger when free roaming it yourself 🙌🏼🙌🏼
This is lowkey an incredible idea. Beautiful builds AND fun fake-drama, we love to see it
@impandskizzpodcast HEY, HEY Imp I know you're reading this; @jef_3006
has had a wonderful idea. When you have the time please consider doing what Jef said thanks.
Yes!!
Yes! I’d love to see this
It's weird how one person can build a bigger city, faster than two people did.
I think I'd only point at Mumbo as an example of how someone can learn to be a builder
His channel is so huge that he's not a good example of what you can get away with
@@Phlucious I don't think Mumbo was anywhere near the risk of bankruptcy. He is making millions - I fail to believe he hasn't invested this money properly to be independently wealthy and now just does things he wants and he is passionate about, not things he has to.
This entire season has had early season vibes for me, and trust me, that's a good thing.
Right? I absolutly love it
Definitely, I've been watching since season 1 and this season is the most I've been invested in and enjoying HC in a fairly long time, everyone's doing their own cool things but they're also hanging out and getting up to nonsense together, it's great
@@Imperial_Squid Yeah Season 8 was pretty not great, Season 9 was slow but better, and Season 10 has sorta been a return to form, but also new.
Exactly, everyone is just working on whatever they want instead of starter base - shop - farm - mega base
While I believe you when you say what you're making will be worth the wait, if that's all I was interested in I would just come in at the end - the process is inspiring and entertaining as well
Couldn't agree more
Im not a long term watcher of Hermitcraft, I only started midway through last season, but one thing I can speak about is how wonderful the interactions are between you all this season.
And Impulse, the attention to detail on your builds makes them really come alive, however and whenever you get there.
came to say this. he offers a perspective to show just how amazing some of the things the hermits can do.
The season is amazing. We love you as much as we love what you make, so do whatever you want and we'll be here.
Agreed(: we love you two❤❤
Impulse: the Mona Lisa was never finished before its creator died.
@@sooziecheek Me too on all points. The two of them are unique and different but cool to watch.
Because of that... genuinely, even if the main Hermitcraft server doesn't have any videos on it for, let's just say, a full week or month or something like that... doesn't matter to me, I'm here to watch the friend group and enjoy the things they make
But hey, that's just me and my two cents
I fully agree
Yes, this is it exactly
Hermitcraft is a whole side of Minecraft TH-cam
I just went to my son’s school orientation and one of his teachers had a sign that I loved “Be brave enough to suck at something new”.
Love you both
I have NEVER felt let down by any of Impys seasons of Hermitcraft or any of the Hermits that I watch regularly. I just want that known.
To me seing you being good friends and have fun with each other is what truly make me stick with hermitcraft the most, and I also enjoy seeing your creativity and awesomeness in the game as soon as y'all are relaxed and enjoy what you
do.
Edit: we watch because of your personalities, not so much how much work you guys can get done or check off to do lists.
it feels like season 10 is what reignited my love for hermitcraft again (not that it ever went away)! excited to see what the future holds!
I strongly recommend guess the build series with Skizz
Your content is best when you are in full "playful mode."
Speaking for myself, I watch to soak in that joy you pump out when your inner child comes out to play. I leave your content feeling happier than when the content started.
Keep doing you! 🖤💛 it's your vibe that we come for. Your builds are amazing, but the building is a vehicle to project that energy.
I'm not sure how much anyone even cares about the main projects. Those are a backdrop, but the story is the story
Dude, you both are killing it this season. My favorite season to date, I’m following almost all the hermits.
Joel is a machine. Mumbo is also smashing this season. Honestly didn't realise how good a builder mumbo was.
Skizz has added so much to this HC season. Wouldn’t be the same without him.
Anymore, I watch Hermitcraft videos and livestreams not for the builds but for the interactions the Hermits have together.
As someone who is new to content creating man do I feel like my work load quadruples over night and I already work a full time 10 hr m-f job my days are planned from 5am to 10pm for every second, this podcast hit so close to my heart thank you, you two are truly inspiring people, also I’m pretty sure skizz is my lost dad, me being someone who studied chandler Bing to be funny for others, skizz is definitely my lost dad lol
skizz wise phrase "Different is not better. Better is different!" , as easy as it sounds it is such geneous phrase.
Hey Imp and Skizz! Your voices are how I start my mornings, no matter what! I got lectured and woke up late this morning all while feeling horrible): yet somehow you too never fail to cheer me up! Walking to class with a smile on my face now! Thank you both so very much!:D
your both such wonderful humans and deserve everything you have❤
This is my first season of Hermitcraft and I absolutely love the community part of the episodes.
😂 1:08:12 Impulse thinking, “Welcome to False.” 😂
This season has been sooo much fun thus far with all the great interactions and moments! I think the fact that it feels like it started only a few weeks ago leaves no doubt in my mind that the season will continue for a while, with the best yet to come. But for now I wish you lots of fun in San Diego :)
This has been my favorite pod cast ever!
Can confirm, happy you left the intro shenanigans in 😊
i am disabled and find it difficult to stay positive but you guys, and your streams withs giggs is a comfort for me, there are time i'll go weeks without catching up on HC but watch everything and vods, i return back to your older streams when you're on a break and love the longer HC season as it gives time to have so many little stories and creative builds. i think because of the type of content you guys create there's a lot of us that won't be going anywhere, also, skizz your skillset is growing so much in time, and i love watching that with you.
