My DIY Solar array caught Fire.

This stuff is dangerous and can have potential for fires.
So hopefully this shows don't do it my way. Get 100mtrs of DC cable and have little or no spliced cables.

Good morning, well I am glad all is okay and I hope your panels are not damaged. I watched a video by Will Prowse about how important it is to use proper Copper cable and proper connections and also learned that there are cheap dangerous Aluminium solar cable on Ebay and Amazon. So I'm going to try and get good quality cable and not take any risks with joints and insulation tape, you were fortunate not to have had a big problem come from that, I appreciate you uploading a video to show the risks, but I also hope you take more care of yourself, family and of course your new system. I know what it's like when you get something new and it's easy to make the mistake of cutting corners to try and get everything up and running. 100 meters of 6 mm cable is so cheap now. Cost virtually nothing. Lessons learnt
