Iviking11 Barrel racing itself doesn't draw a croud of spectators. Most of the people that go are family members/significant others, or maybe very close friends to those that are running, usually other competitors.
Number 8 at 15:34 is probably my favorite rider didn’t use a whip and was pretty soft with her hands and no star fishing!! This proves that it’s the rider star fishing and not due to people being thrown out of the saddle! She’s probably extremely light and still doesn’t starfish!

Horses skin is 0.02 mm thinner than ours, and they’re tmmr or sensitive. Horses are not these big, strong creature. While some are, most are fragile and those who are have a bombproof personality and don’t need that kind of stimulus. Why do you need a whip? How about first learn to handle the horse in the first place? I see them kicking and smacking their horses and it doesn’t make them go any faster. The girl who actually won this competition didn’t even kick her horse or use a whip, and it’s the same for most barrel racers that Win. When I compete in barrel racing (which it’s been a while) or practice, I don’t need huge spurs or a whip, my horse and I work together and listen to each other. That. Is. How. It. Is. Supposed. To. Be. The horses are all fast on their own, they don’t need that BS. I hold a crop while riding because it makes the horse just a little more alert, a tap as a reminder is fine, but you don’t need to smack them to get them to listen. These horses don’t look like they do anything but barrel racing, considering they’re so jumpy out of the starting gate, but it looks like the girl who won had a very calm horse. These horses DO NOT LIKE to be hit, kicked or whipped. When you kick, it should be gentle, you don’t need to become an actual starfish, crops and whips should be a gentle tap or a little bit firmer, smacking your horse with a piece of leather or a plastic stick isn’t ok. Nor is hitting your horse or jerking the reins repeatedly to get them to listen. It doesn’t work like that. Educate yourself, dear.
