I really like how you made this about hisoka and illumis grotesque and warped adoration of Gon and killua respectively. Very accurate to the story of hxh. In Hisoka’s case he is actually trying to help Gon to find his true potential for his own sick gain while illumi is holding killua back out of a twisted sense of duty.

i feel like i should explain that hisoka is not actually attracted sexually to the children. he gets off on power but he would never sexually harass them or attempt to engage in those activities with them. in the episode where he somewhat asks to "do" killua, he only asked it to piss illumi off but even so in the show he asked to kill him not "do" him like in the manga. hes not an actual pedophile hes just creepy.
