I came to understand some Igbo proverbs having been translated to me. Therefore following the proverb used by this man as he said, " Egbe belu Ugo belu, nke si ibe ya ebena ya gosi nwa nne ya ebe o ga ebe". I learnt that this is not how the original proverb was said by Igbo ancestors. It's originally said this way, " Egbe belu Ugo belu, nke si ibe ya ebena, nku kwaa ya". Therefore the original saying of this proverb should not be modified should the person using it is innocent and selfless. Considering the general meaning of the original proverb, it means let it go well with everyone and anybody who becomes self-centered and does not want the progress of the other, let such individual die or not see progress. Should the eagle or the kite be the one to show his brother where to land, then he can be so selfish and show his brother a pit of fire to land.
